He graduated from Lamar University in Speech and Theater. He spent the next 43 years in the restaurant business in various roles from General Man- ager, District Manager, Franchise Director of Operations and finally as the CEO of a local Monroe fast food franchise. He currently does part time consulting for various aspects of the fast food business. He is the Executive Direc- tor of Camp Quality, Louisiana – a non-profit camp for children with cancer. Alan married his wife Gay Nell in 1978, and they have one Daughter and two granddaughters, who are their pride and joy. Alan is a very active member of Temple B’nai Israel serving on the board of trus- tees for the past 13 years, as well as Treasurer and President. He is currently Presi- dent of the Temple men’s club. He is a member of the Krewe of Janus that hosts the Monroe Mardi Gras Ball and parade. He has served as a Duke, Lieutenant and as King Janus XXXIV. Alan is a charter member of the Rotary Club of the Twin Cities (Ouachita), the first evening club in the Monroe area founded in 2010. He was the first Paul Harris Fellow in the club. He is a member of the Paul Harris Society and is a major donor. He has served as Secretary, board member, club foundation chair and President. On the District level, he has been an Assistant Governor, serves on the District Leadership Council and served as Youth Services Chair. He has served as a facili- tator for The Rotary Leadership Institute. He also serves on the Ole Man River PETS committee.
