Installation of Defibrillator & CPR ProjectRotary Club of Sonepat Midtown installed a Defibrillator on July 11,2019 at the District Courts, Sonipat and the same was inauguratedby District Session Judge, Sh. Y.S. Rathore and our DG Rtn. DeepakGupta (Distt. 3012). This project was sponsored by M/s AllenDiesels (P) Ltd., Delhi under CSR which cost Rs. 1.30 Lacs. RotaryGovernor and District Session Judge took keen interest about theviability of the Defibrillator. The District Session Judge not onlyprovided the space but also declared a Dispensary there as there is abig crowd in the courts during the day, where this machine will beuseful in case of emergency need. Rtn. PP R.K. Kumra was theProject Chairman and it was on his initiative, our club got theProject sponsored by the said company.

President Rtn. (Dr.) Manoj Bhatla gave the details of theDefibrillator. Defibrillator is a machine used for treatment fo life-threatening cardiac arrest. A Defibrillator delivers a dose of electriccurrent (often called a counter shock) to the heart. It is used to treatsudden cardiac arrest which leads to depolarization of the entireelectrical system of the heart.

Thereafter, all the Rotarians/ Advocates/ Chief medical Officerassembled at the Hall of the Bar Association and Sh. Anup SinghDahiya, President Bar Association, Sonipat presided over themeeting and reflected on the benefits of the Project.

Further, President Bhatla said that RC Midtown will installDefibrillators on the Bus Stand/ Railway Station/ Main Market wherethere is big crowd in Sonipat. DG Rtn. Deepak Gupta also spoke tothe audience and lauded the efforts of RC Sonipat Midtown byinstalling the Defibrillators for the benefit of the Community/ Societyat large.

Minutes of the Meeting for the Governor’s Official Visit(GOV) at Hotel Utsav Grand, of Rotary Club of Sonipat

Mid Town 2019- 20 on 11th of July 2019

MOC PP Rtn. Rajesh Relan welcomed the DG Deepak Gupta Ji and thedistrict officials. The DG then began his address and the followingpoints were discussed-

The DG appreciated the Club President Dr. Manoj Bhatla and his team onstarting the meeting on time.

He further appreciated the Club for already filling the goals- 34 Nos. The plan to increase the membership by 30% as mentioned in the goals was

appreciated by the DG. Pres. Dr. Bhatla and team were congratulated onachieving the proposed number on day one.

The DG requested the Club to have bigger Foundation Goals and suggestedthe Club to come under the EREY banner and involve the entire Club in RotaryFoundation.

The DG also apprised the Club to be active and ensure all data is correct onRotary.org and ROW. A workshop involving the entire Club was suggestedto ensure correct data points.

The DG also appreciated PP Rtn. Jagdish Batra for his tremendous work onthe Exchange program.

The DG checked for all the documents of theClub and the financials of the last year werealso seen. He appreciated IPP Rtn. T.N. Tiwaryfor submitting the accounts in time.

The DG also interacted with the Interact &Rotaract Club Presidents who were also invitedfor the meet.

This was followed by discussions on Projects-

The DG appreciated the Rotary Health CareCard project, under PP Rtn. R.K. Seth andadvised the Club to keep a track of thebeneficiaries and ensure proper update inRotary.org

To make this program bigger, he advised theClub to revive the RCC (Rotary CommunityCorps) for benefit of the rural population.

The DG also advised the Club to enroll for School Projects which incorporatefor a contribution of Rs 2.25 lacs from the Club and the District commits Rs10.00 Lacs in total for a single school.

The DG appreciated the project of Defibrillator Installation and CPR Trainingat the District Courts and the probability of opening a Happy Clinic at the Courtpremises was also discussed.

Minutes of the Meeting of Installation of PresidentRtn. (Dr.) Manoj Bhatla and his Team for the

Year 2019-20 of Rotary Club of SonipatMidtown on 11th of July 2019

President Manoj Bhatla and his team were formally inducted on the11th of July at a glittering function held at the the Kanak Garden Resorts.

The Chief Guest of the Installation Ceremony was DG Deepak Guptaand his gracious wife Rty’ne Reena Gupta. Besides the District Team,Guest of Honor, DGN and DGE were also kind enough to be present forthe Grand Occasion.

The event began with a Formal Lamp Lighting by the senior officials ofthe Club. After a formal welcome, MOC PP Rtn. Bhupesh Chandnawelcomed the DG Rtn. Deepak Gupta, AG Rtn. Ajay Chhabra, Pres. Dr.Manoj Bhatla, Secy. Rtn. Niraj Arora, IPP Rtn. T.N. Tiwary andOutgoing Secy. Rtn. Kavilesh Kukreja to the dais.

This was followed by the Collar Exchange for the President andSecretary from the year 18-19 to 19-20.

IPP Rtn. T.N, Tiwary then gave a brief on the year that went by andapprised the Club of the projects that were successfully carried out inthe year 2018-19. He also wished the incoming President Rtn. Dr. ManojBhatla and his Team for a great year 2019-20.

President Dr. Manoj Bhatla then unveiled his vision for the year andlaid down the roadmap for his year. Glimpses of the Major projects thathave been planned for the year were shared with the august audience.

One of the project, an E-Rickshaw donation, donated by our SeniorLeader PP Rtn. Anil Kapoor was handed over to a specially abled personat the event itself.

A Total of 21 new members were inducted to the Club and the inductedmembers and spouse were welcomed by the DG and other District andClub officials into the Club.

This was followed by address to the audience by the DGE, DGN and AG.The MOC PP Rtn. Bhupesh Chandna then invited the DG for sharing hisvision with the Club.

The DG then addressed the Club and wished President Manoj Bhatlaand his team for a successful year. He specifically mentioned that hewas elated with the projects under execution and the preparations forthe year have started on a great note. The DG also thanked PP Rtn.Sukesh Sachdeva for contributing US$ 10000 and PE Rtn. BhushanVasdev for donating US$ 2000 for the Rotary Foundation and appealedfor all to contribute to the community.

A formal Vote-of-Thanks was proposed by PE Rtn Bhushan Vasdevwherein he thanked the DG and the entire District Officials and the Clubfor their presence. The meeting was followed by House of Friendshipand dinner.

Assembly of Rotary Club of Sonipat Midtown(2019-20)

The first Club Assembly of the Rotary Club of Sonipat Midtown, Year 2019-20, washeld on the 3rd of July at the Rotary centre. Following are the minutes of themeeting-

President Manoj Bhatla began the meeting with a welcome to all the Rotarians. A minute of silence was observed as a mark of respect for the revered Past RI

Director Sudershan Aggarwal Ji who left for heavenly abode on 3rd of July ,2019.

He further congratulated IPP Rtn. T.N. Tiwary and his team for bringing laurelsto the Club in the year 2018-19 Thanksgiving at District Level.

President Dr. Manoj Bhatla then laid out his plans for the year 2019-20embarking upon his key plans as below-

a. Fellowship Focusb. Projects for Communityc. Mandatory 4 Club assemblies, one each quarterd. Common Seating

President Dr. Manoj Bhatla further gave brief on the Rotary Health Card Project,intended to benefit the needy from the society.

He also apprised the Club of the current strength of the Club- 56 and requestedthe assembly to propose new members.

He also requested the Club to maintain punctuality for all meetings. President Rtn. Manoj Bhatla then proposed a revision of the Club fees to Rs

21000/- which was endorsed by the Club. It was also decided that new members who have been Rotarians earlier will not

be charged a joining fee of Rs 5000. PP Rtn. K.L. Dawra then briefed the Club on the plans for the 11th of July. PP Rtn. R.K. Kumra, MOC for the project, detailed the Club on the Defibrillator

and CSR project, to be installed at District Courts on the 11th of July, in thepresence of DG Deepak Gupta.

PP Rtn. Rajesh Relan, MOC for the GOV, also gave elaborate details on the GOVscheduled to be held at 5.45 pm at Utsav Grand and requested all Rotarians toattend the GOV.

MOC for the installation of President Manoj Bhatla and his team, PP RtnBhupesh Chandna, gave a brief on the event, scheduled on the 11th of July, at8:30 pm at Kanak Garden Banquet.

PP Rtn R K Seth also apprised Club of the Rotary Health Card Project. PP Rtn Naveen Wadhwa (Chairman-Trust) also apprised the Club of the

initiatives being carried out to improve the facilities and look/feel of the Rotarycentre.

Secretary Niraj Arora then apprised the Club of the meetings for the next 30days-a. Defribrillator and CSR Project installation on 11th July at District Courts at 12

The first Board Meeting for the Year 2019 20 for Rotary Club of Sonipat Midtown,Year 2019-20, was held on the 13th of July. Following are the minutes of themeeting-

President Rtn. Dr. Manoj Bhatla began the meeting with a welcome to all theRotarians.

President Rtn. Dr. Manoj Bhatla then thanked the hosts for the meeting- Rtn.Sunil Batra and Rtn. Sharad Sharma.

President Rtn. Dr. Manoj Bhatla also welcomed Dr. Rajiv Batra and PP Rtn J. S.Tomar, who were special invitees for the Board meet.

Secretary Niraj Arora then shared the minutes of the Last Board Meeting whichwas duly approved by the Board.

The President then thanked PP Rtn. K. L. Dawra for a wonderfully conductedClub assembly on the 3rd of July.

The President also thanked PP Rtn R.K. Kumra for having a great start to theprojects for the year with the Defibrillator and CPR training meeting at thedistrict courts on the 11th of July, 2019. The event was widely covered in thelocal media as well.

The daytime event was well attended by 31 Rotarians and around 200 courtofficials.

The Club is also exploring the opening up of a Happy Clinic at the courtpremises.

President Rtn. Dr. Manoj Bhatla then thanked PP Rtn. Rajesh Relan for hostingthe GOV on the 11th July in the evening at Hotel Utsav. DG Deepak Guptaappreciated the conduct of the GOV and the preparedness of the Club for theyear and the statement of accounts presented by the Club.

The President then thanked PP Rtn. Bhupesh Chandna for conducting theInstallation ceremony of the Team 2019-20. The entire event was very wellcoordinated. 21 new members were inducted. DG Deepak Gupta was the ChiefGuest of the event.

The President also thanked PP Rtn. Sukesh Sachdeva for donating 10,000 USDfor the Rotary foundation and PE Rtn Bhushan Vasdev for committing 2000 USDfor the Rotary Foundation.

The Board also adopted a resolution to change the signatories for managing theRotary Community Centre and new signatories to be as below (Any two cansign)-a. President Dr. Manoj Bhatlab. PP Rtn. Naveen Wadhwac. PP Rtn. R.K. Kumra

Rtn. Sunil Batra and Rtn. Sharad Sharma then apprised the Board of the plansfor the New Member Assimilation Meet on the 27th July. It was also decided tohave mentors for each New Member.

PP Rtn. J.S. Tomar and Rtn. Rakesh Devgan also apprised the Club about theMega Tree Plantation Drive Meeting on the 2nd Aug 2019.

Project Update andPlans- The President apprised the Board

of the special mention of theDefibrillator and CPR project by DGin the District Installation.

The Board also decided to exploreInternational Grant for placing 20such machines at various locationsin the Rotary District, with 5machines coming in from our Club.

The President apprised that fundsfor 3 machines have been arrangedfrom various sources and askedBoard for support for the balance 2machines (app 2.5 Lacs)

The other important project, forSchool Upgradation, with theproposal of complete overhaul of asingle school was discussed and theClub was informed of a Districtgrant of Rs 7.75 lacs for the projectupon collection of Rs 2.25 lacs bythe Club.

The Club unanimously decided thatwe should go for both the projects.

The President suggested to lookoutfor CSR (of app Rs 2.5 lacs) for anyone of the above 2 projects.

For the balance 2.5 Lacs, thePresident committed approx. Rs 80thousand.

It was agreed that the 30-memberBoard would contribute Rs 5100for the balance to kick-start bothprojects. The said amount could beself-funded or can be sourced frompotential donors.

President Dr. Manoj Bhatla thenthanked everyone and the hosts Rtn.Sunil Batra and Rtn. Sharad Sharmaand the Board proceeded for drinksand dinner.

MANGO CRUSH – SUNNY CRUNCH –SPICY MANGO SALAD

Contents :

2 Large Mangoes, halved, pitted, peeled and diced ½ Cup Feta Cheese 2 tbsp Basil leaves, plus extra to garnish 2 tbsp Olive Oil ¼ tsp Cayenne 1 Lime, juiced & 1 Small Bunch Chives, snipped

Salt to taste & Freshly Ground Black Pepper.

1. In a bowl, whisk together the Lime Juice, Olive Oil, Cayenne,Chives and Sliced Basil with Salt and Pepper.

2. Add the Mangoes and mix well to coat the dressing3. Spoon onto the Serving Platter and top with Feta and Basil Leaves

before serving.4. To give the best of flavour, add diced Avocados.

We are undertaking a Mega Service Project i.e.Rotary Health Care Card during the year 19-20. Our sole object is to help the poor andneedy people by providing them concessionalMedical Services.The beauty of this Service Project will be itscontinuity throughout the year and may beinto next year also. Under this Project, agenerous concession of 50% will be given tothe poor and needy patients for OPD and 40%concession will be given for Path Lab Testsand X-Ray, ECG, Ultrasound, CT Scan andMRI.

For providing all these Services, we havearranged a tie-up with Twelve most qualifiedand reputed Doctors of Sonipat. This panel ofTwelve Doctors will provide OPD Servicesand Lab Testings to the needy patients. Wehave selected six prominent Locations of thecity Sonipat where these patients can go getthemselves registered. After registration, theywill be issued a ROTARY HEALTH CARECARD through which they will be able to getabove concessions.

This one Health Card will serve the Medicalpurpose of their entire family.

Friends, I request you to please be a part ofthis Mega Service Project and help the poorand destitutes. We are planning to help atleast 5000 people during the year 2019-20.
