Five Minute Speaker A number of teachers from Royal Oak School, headed by Felicity and a group of a dozen children, attended at the start of our meeting. They were also accompanied by Justine Waters, the parent who originally approached us for assistance to send three teams from the Royal Oak Primary School to the Tournament of Minds in Wellington on the weekend when the All Blacks played Australia at Westpac Stadium. The group had made a special trip to our meeting to say thank you for the $2,100 which the club had provided to them to assist them with their travel costs to Wellington for the weekend. After a brief thank you delivered by Felicity most of the children in the group thanked us in their own way and spoke very well. Responding for the club Bill Grayson said that we had been delighted to help, praised the initiative of Justine in approaching the club and we were pleased to contribute to the school and the children’s success. Ernie Meyer said at the end of each Monday meeting, those members on equipment duty should put the equipment on the trolley and leave the trolley in the Sport’s Bar.
