Club Bulletin - Issue 6 Monday 2 September 2013 2013/14 President: Esther Roadnight OAM What a great week this has been. Thank you to all members for your support and enthusiasm for the Introduction to Rotary night held on Monday night. When Cherie indicated she would like to hold such a night whilst she was preparing the Club membership plan I fully supported the idea. Thank you members for putting forward names of members of our community to invite to the night. It was a fun filled night with plenty of laughs, lots of Rotary information and heaps of fellowship. That all could not have happened without your support. Thank you Directors for giving the overview of your portfolio area and to Gavin, Angelo and Michael thank you for sharing your experience of Rotary. We will certainly be holding another of these evenings during this Rotary year. In the meantime I will send out a list of those who attended and those who could not attend at the last moment due to work commitments so that those who put the names forward can follow up with the person concerned. This will be the first Bulletin that will be available to members through a website connection. Cherie will email the link to you each week. I found it very easy to access. If you can't and would prefer to print off your copy of the Bulletin please let Cherie know and she will send a PDF of the Bulletin to you. This Monday night our meeting venue has been changed just for this week. The Tower is hosting the Annual Mitchell Medal Count so for ease of conducting the meeting it was decided to move venues for the evening. We will be meeting at Rydges Resort and Spa at the usual time of 6pm for fellowship with the meeting commencing at 6.30pm. Don't forget it is a partners night. Please advise Peter by Friday if you are an apology or if your partner is coming along with you. Board members we have our business meeting with DG Erwin at 5pm at Rydges. Next week Chelsea Gillam is coming along to tell us of her experiences as a GSE team member to Brazil. I know I am looking forward to this presentation. As members have been advised Pilar's parents have terminated her exchange effective from 13 September. Wednesday 4 September will be a social evening at our home (123 Piesse Street, Boulder) where Pilar will do her final presentation to the Club. Please advise if you will be able to attend. A change of date also for our cutting and propagating morning at KBULG. Due to circumstances the date has had to be pushed out to 3 November. So please change the date in your diaries. Enjoy the rest of your week as you continue to Engage Rotary, Change Lives Have a great weekend! President Esther Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie SEPTEMBER Youth Month From president ESTHER ...
