Term 1 - Week 8 Thursday 21 March 2019

SCHOOL SPORT ON A FRIDAY

Rotary Club of Albury West ‘Kids With Wings’ The Rotary Club of Albury West believe that ‘every child deserves the opportunity to become the very best they can be’ and launched the ’Kids With Wings’ initiative. The Club extended an invitation to four deserving students from our school to partake in a flight with Rex Airlines. A prerequisite was that a student had never flown before and that they were in Years 5 or 6. Students were asked to submit a short story to Miss Farmer and staff stating why they should be chosen for this wonderful opportunity. There were some great stories and it was a difficult task narrowing down to four students. The four lucky students selected were: Ziggy H, Talyn C, Tiana H and Addy E. The flight took place last Sunday and the students were ‘over the moon’ with excitement for their first ever flight. They felt like celebrities with all the media attention! Their parents were treated to a free BBQ at the airport whilst waiting for their ‘jetsetter children’ to return.

Our school would like to thank the

‘Rotary Club of Albury West’

for this wonderful opportunity!

As part of the Creative Arts curriculum,

Year 3-4 Red were asked to study

different works from

Claude Monet.

They had to research online and find

paintings with Lillies and

interesting uses of large dabs

of paint that makeup a background.

Great work 3-4 Red!
