Special thanks and congratulations to Step up with Pat and Gill!team from Rotary Bayview Claremont who won the prize for the most funds raised by a team ($5325) more than 10% of the total raised on the day! Similarly congratulations to B4H committee member, Brett Suann who was 10 th climber to the top, raising $1240. Great effort! Thanks to all donors and supporters who participated in the event. We plan to make this an annual event so start your training soon! More climbers + more sponsorships = more money. This result is a clear demonstration of the commitment of the Rotary Club of Bayview Claremont to supporting B4H WA. The funds raised will be directed to our account with Rotary Australia Worldwide Community Service (RAWCS). This money will contribute to the cost of buying shipping containers and shipping them to Africa. We also acknowledge and thank the Trustees of the WJ & MS Hughes Foundation for their generous contribution of $6,000 to the B4H WA RAWCS account. Workshop move update While we continue to work on securing a new workshop site, work on bike repairs and preparation will continue as usual at High Wycombe, as well as preparing for an anticipated move to a new location. More about the move when arrangements are finalised.

Rotary Climb for a Smile

raises $6,774 for B4H

Thanks to an amazing effort by a few intrepid stair climbers our Rotary fundraising account has been kicked off with a deposit of $6,774. Special thanks and congratulations to “Step up with Pat and Gill!” team from Rotary Bayview Claremont who won the prize for the most funds raised by a team ($5325) – more than 10% of the total raised on the day! Similarly – congratulations to B4H committee member, Brett Suann who was 10th climber to the top, raising $1240. Great effort! Thanks to all donors and supporters who participated in the event.

We plan to make this an annual event – so start your training soon!

More climbers + more sponsorships = more money. This result is a clear demonstration of the commitment of the Rotary Club of Bayview Claremont to

supporting B4H WA.

Events: Recently B4H WA had a successful presence at the BWA Ride to Work Breakfast ,

the Town of Cambridge Seniors Expo and at Have-a-Go Day at Burswood. At each of these, committee representatives engaged with the community to spread the word about our work and in the process raised very useful cash donations and made contact with potential new volunteers.

B4H WA has two more events coming up – we encourage participation of our volunteers, sponsors and supporters.

Saturday 16th November – Beaufort Street Festival With generous support of Stuart Weston Real Estate, B4H WA will have a promotional stand at this year’s Beaufort Street Festival, in Mt Lawley – all day. There will be opportunities to find out more about the work of Bicycles for Humanity

Sunday December 1st – Corporate Cycling Challenge Perry Lakes from 8 am. Teams of between 4 and 10 amateur riders will race a team time trial over a 17km course. That will be followed by the Aurecon Pro Challenge – where teams of amateur riders are joined by one World Tour ProRider to race the same course in a team time trial. Teams are typically filled with 9 amateur riders plus one World Tour ProRider.

We are delighted that CCC has chosen to support B4H nationally, and will be encouraging the corporate teams involved to fundraise for B4H at similar events in Melbourne and Sydney as well as in Perth.
