You will hear it throughout my songs i switchup the structure of my flow to keep listeners refreshed, i come with a mixof the new school dope one liner punch lines that is so loved in this dayand age mixed with my ability to link together multi syllybol wordsdisplaying my skill with wordplay also.

1. "Chasing Fame" is that why you came up with the name, because that's exactly what you're doing?

(lol) To answer the question: No... The name actually came from the sample. The original song is by Adele: Chasing Pavements. My producers (The OuterLimits) chopped the song up, sped the sample up and looped it with a drumpattern. They saved it as Chasing Fame. We were in the lab one day and theypulled it up and Freshmen pointed it out to me that the sample actuallysounded like she was saying, "Chasing Famous"! And it did... The title ofthe beat kind of fit a situation I was in at the moment so I wrote the songaround it, decided to keep the name and in the end it worked!

With the whole "FAME" thing... Its just my name. Its what people call me. Iwas voted Most Likely to be Famous in High School. I think they used to callme "Mr. Famous" to kind of tease me about it... (lol) it actually turnedinto something totally different. It got shortened to Famous and about ayear ago I took it amongst myself to cut it down to Fame. Fame is somethingI don't put too much emphasis on in my life. I love making music but at somepoint I think every artist would like to reach some level of fame... Famebrings the money in. There's a lot of capital associated with fame. Fame isnotoriety! When you're an artist: fame can be the root of that impulse thatmakes people buy into things with your brand/name attached to it. With thatsaid, I'm happy doing music... I'd be even MORE HAPPY building a financialfuture for myself and my family doing what I'm happy doing. So, I thinkhaving fame or being famous for making music is a goal of mine but it isn'tmy primary goal or focus. I just want to be happy doing what I love.

2. What's your inspiration before you write? What rappers & artists do you like?

My inspiration is my life and experiences. The life I live isn't the mostbizarre and explosive- action packed life. However, everyday I learnsomething new, I face problems, I don't face problems (lol), I learn how tohandle situations differently and most important- I make decisions. I lovethat! Its a blessing to be able to LIVE everyday I'm here! I LOVE LIVING! Ifyou LOVE something you can talk about it all day- everyday and never gettired of it.

I also draw inspiration from other artist... I listen to some ofeverything... Good music though not just anything. I like hearing about thelife that other people live. I sometimes listen to an artist and write totheir songs. Its kind of like having a conversation... You ever have someonetell you a story of what happened to them the past week and it made youthink of an experience you had a year ago? You identify with them and youfeel obliged to tell your story! I only do that if the song REALLY resonateswith me though. There are no specific names that really influence me

I only do that if the song REALLY resonateswith me though. There are no specific names that really influence me

3.What are some of the things you like to rap about?

I like to share my experiences! How I handle things that come my way and theback stories behind why I handle things the way I do! I feel I'm a prettygood decision maker... at times (lol). I can be a positive influence... attimes. You can learn how to go about things and how NOT to go about things.I may not be the best mentor to some but I may be exactly the person someoneneeds to hear from! I try to talk about things that people can relate to,epiphanies that Ive had, things I think people should be up on. Iincorporate a lot of my values in my songwriting as well. It all reallydepends on my mood. My mood influences what I write about a lot of the time.

4. What would you label your sound? Image? & Focus?

My sound... See, I always have such a hard time with this question... Once Iget asked this question I always start thinking of all of the songs that Ikinda took chances on. I don't think people hear a FAME album or mix-tapeand say: "OH! He's a back packer!" or "OH! He's one of those gangstarappers." People hear me and say, "This dude can spit!" I was raised inWatts/Compton CA. and I went to school out in Northridge/Woodland HillsCA. so you can see that I had to be sort of a chameleon growing up. I thinkit shows in the music. I cant really say that I sound one particular way. Isound like hip-hop. Hip-hop is ever changing. Its always growing. Itstimeless.

The image I would hope I portray myself as being is a MAN more thananything... I don't have a gimmick or anything like that. I'm not a jerker,I don't deal drugs, I dont pimp... etc... I dont... Im a man, anextraordinary man. The reasoning behind most of my decisions in this lifeare based on the morals and principles that I picked up growing up. Its thefabric of who I am. Every boy growing up wants to be a man... Well... notevery boy (lol) but you get my drift. Once you become a man you want to be aBETTER man. In that process you're going to struggle with temptationand make mistakes. You're going to love and break hearts. You're going toget careless, you're going to be imperfect... That's the stuff I talk about! The things that EVERY man who wants to be a better man goes through and canrelate to! Just as any other rapper. The difference with me is "...when I dowhat I do, I do what I'm doing- but I do it like I'm doing it for TV." (lol)

My ultimate focus is my happiness. I'm very passionate about being anentertainer. I'm trying to build a business around my passion and make itprofitable. I have a family. I have to put food on the table.

5. What do you want to do with your music?

EVERYTHING. When I hear music that I like, I get such a surreal feeling...The right track can give me a nostalgic feeling. I might get a depressedwhen I hear certain music or I might get amped! Music can heighten onesemotions... I want to be able to touch people like that. Be the person youplay to make you go harder or be that dude you pop in when you don't have afriend in the world. I want to touch lives. I want to INSPIRE people.

1. Who do you look to for inspiration when you write?I personally look for inspiration usually through young artists who have orare generating a good buzz, as somewhat of a goal for me something to set mysights on. Such as Comeback Season/So Far Gone Drake, J.Cole, Tyga, DomKennedy, Pac Div, Asher etc. Um local artists inspire me, Marion Write,Radio Ramone, Slik d, Sedrew and whoevers dope in this city i see ascompitition. Also I inspire my self, i listen to myself critiquing my craftand pin pointing on what i need to improve on, so i can only get better fromhere.

How did you come up with the name ?

TNES saw a TV special which was about a herd of Hippos & the waterhole itoccupied. He was very intrigued w/ how much depth this animal had. It'snot just a cute lazy looking creature that eats grass and swims all day. It's much more than meets the eye. First off, the Hippo is THE mostdangerous animal in the wild killing up to 400 humans a year. It's a landmammal but spends most of it's time in water. It's round and heavy but canactually run up to 30 MPH! These attributes expresses VERSATILITY to us.The Hippo also lives in symbiosis w/ other animals such as various birds, turtles, fish and even baby Crocodiles. This represents UNITY to us. In anutshell, the name came about as to using the Hippo as our mascot and basingour style on the aspects of this versatile animal in an artistic way that wecan then use to relate in the world today. Hence the name HippoEstheticsmeaning the art & beauty of the Hippopotamus lifestlye.

Why did you start this clothing line?

We started HIPPOE in 2004. It was slightly branded in Japan before wedecided to go full force on it here in Las Vegas.

“Hippopotamus lifestlye.”

What would you call 'the image' you guys represent with your line?

As far as an "image" we would have to say it can't be narrowed down to justone. As we stated earlier, the key to our brand is versatility. If youtake a good look at the line up of designs we have so far, not all of themcontain the actual Hippopotamus in them. TNES designs on the way he feelsat the time. IE: The FEED THE HIPPOE$ CAMPAIGN was a line up of designsthat empowered you to get money, $tay Hungry! and never give up on yourdreams. At that time, he basically felt like he was presented w/ very toughtimes and wanted to push through it no matter how bad things were. So toanswer this question, our "image" would be a forever changing one.

How did your idea begin and what inspirations did you get to help?

The idea began as soon as TNES saw that TV special on Hippos. Inspirationwould be provided by friends who felt the same way TNES felt... Not being awealthy person or going the route of finding and an investor to help realizehis dream, he decided to do it all on his own and just finding the rightpeople who were just as hungry as he was to get the job done. Althoughwe've had some highs and very lows, we always manage to make things happen. All the weeds have been pulled, all the bad apples disposed, all the kinkshave been fixed and we are ready to blow the f#ck up! Haha.

Who are your favorite fashion icons?

Our favorite fashion icons would be any and everyone who came up throughhard work and dedication!
