ROSEN METHOD BODYWORK INTENSIVE PRESENTED BY ROSEN METHOD AUSTRIA THE ART OF RELATIONSHIP IN ROSEN METHOD BODYWORK Welcoming Annabelle Apsion and Ingrid-Maria Nordgren Co-Directors of Rosen Method Training & Therapy Ltd., UK with Mary Kay Wright, Co-Director of Training, Rosen-Method Austria One of the main themes of this intensive is the Art of Relationship. Each encounter, each session, and each conversation between a Rosen Method bodyworker and a client has meaning and needs to convey a sense of safety. Much of the tension that is addressed in Rosen Method forms in a client’s body over time due to life circumstances and situations that may not be safe, that create confusion or frighten, that cause distress or unease. From the first phone call or conversation that occurs with a client it is important to know how to observe, listen, and feel what a client is communicating and to respond directly and clearly, to begin the process of building trust. People taking intensives often comment that the quality of their relationships changes for the better as they learn to enjoy intimacy, trust and safety. Rosen practice builds confidence in authentic self expression and also teaches skills for listening deeply to others, helping us to respond from our whole being rather than from past fear or habitual reactivity. This Bodywork intensive is open at a reduced fee for Rosen Method Interns. Consider joining us this autumn for six days at the beautiful Seminarhaus Wien West, located near Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna (www.seminarhaus-wienwest.com). Our training is easily accessed, with subway and bus stations nearby. Our intensives are open to all Rosen students world-wide. ! This training will emphasize the importance of safe relationship in Rosen Method. ! Each teacher will discuss and demonstrate how she approaches a new relationship, how she makes contact with her hands and her words, and how sustaining a safe connection supports the possibility of the client deepening into greater contact with himself or herself. ! Within the framework of a safe, supportive relationship this deepening may lead to openings of self- awareness, to remembering or reliving past or current experiences that can be processed in the present time with greater insight and expanded capacity. A safe therapeutic alliance provides a context for personal growth and healing, often leading to evolutionary changes in a client’s life. ! We will work with various themes about relationships and safety such as healthy boundaries, normal trans- ference and counter-transference in a Rosen Method relationship, recovery from trauma, and embodying the central principles of honesty, confidentiality, en- gagement, respect, understanding, and compassion.
