SRC Drought relief fundraiser

Next week we will come together as a school community to raise money for others in need – our rural families who are facing great hardship at the moment. As part of the fundraising day we will all dress as a farmer or a farm animal and donate to this great cause.

Thank you to our SRC who are coordinating this event.

I encourage you to give generously for this cause. Bring a gold coin donation or more on the day.

P&C NewsFather’s Day Event This Thursday 6th September

We're excited to be putting on another movie night for our Father's Day event this year as last year’s one was so successful! It's going to be such a fun night for the kids and dad's/carers. We need 30 helpers on various shifts, starting from 3.15pm with the last shift finishing at about 8.30pm. This would be a great way for the mums to get involved. Please email [email protected] if you can help. In case of bad weather, the movie will be in the school hall. Don’t forget it still gets cold early September at night, so make sure you dress warmly. Flexischools is now open to book your tickets and also pre-order delicious food for the night. You will need to do this in 2 separate orders, so make sure you get confirmation of ordered tickets and food. ***As the event is at the school after hours (it will be dark), children must be supervised at all times by an adult ***

The SRC are raising funds to support the farmers and their families who are struggling through the

NSW droughts.

When: Wednesday 5th September Dress: Dress like a farmer

Donation: Gold Coins

Please give generously as all

donations will go to Rural Aid to help farmers in need across NSW.

2018AthleticsCarnivalResults

On Wednesday 15th August, our annual Primary Athletics Carnival was held for students in years 3-6 at E.S Marks Field. The carnival was a great day for all involved, with superb athletic performances and exemplary sportsmanship on display. Students had the opportunity to participate in many events including various running races, long jump, high jump and novelty events. Getting through our very full program would not have been possible without our wonderful teaching staff who worked non-stop on the day to make sure it ran smoothly. A big thank to the parents, family and friends who came along and supported the event. Congratulations to all those who participated. The athletes listed below deserve a special mention for their outstanding results on the day – places are decided upon the fastest times across all heats in each age group. The first three athletes placed in all 100m races and the first two athletes placed in the 200m and 800m races represented Rose Bay PS at the District Athletics Carnival on Monday 27th August. Well done to these athletes. Sports Committee

Thanks to all the volunteers for helping to run the event- the day wouldn’t have

been possible without you!

We had a few special visitors to help us along. Thanks to Costa and the

What an amazing day we had, so many smiling faces everywhere you looked! Thankfully the wind was not too chilly and the sun kept us warm. All the students had a wonderful time in the name of fun, fitness and fundraising for the school. Thank you to all athletes, teachers, parents, family helpers, and our professional sporting volunteers who donated their time. A special thank you to Sydney Roosters' ambassador, Anthony Minichiello, Sydney Roosters Women’s player Simaima Taufa, Paul Momirovski and Kurt Baptiste. We can’t forget our very special guest from Russia and his trusty horseman and helpers!

The Boy with the Red Balloon

Rose Bay School Concert, 2018

It was a wonderful

performance, all the kids and teachers put in so

much effort. Callan

I liked how we all performed together on

the finale. It was amazing to see how hard each class had

worked on their dance. JJ

The concert helped us learn about dance styles: from jazz, hip hop, lyrical

and contemporary. Even the rehearsals were exciting because we were able to really feel the music.

Bledisloe March Past Experience

On Saturday 18th August, 55 of our year 6 students and 10 teachers had the opportunity to attend the Bledisloe Cup match between the Australian Wallabies and the New Zealand All Blacks at ANZ Stadium Olympic Park.

As if attending the Bledisloe wasn’t enough, we got to march through the tunnel from the Olympic Athletics Stadium on to the pitch for the players’ warm-up session! We waved to the crowd and smelt the grass that so many champions have walked on before us.

We were then ushered to our seats to soak up the atmosphere of a sell-out crowd ready to witness an exciting game. The students proudly represented RBPS during both national anthems and then we were all on the edge of our seats throughout the game. The All Blacks’ supporters amongst us left slightly happier than the Wallabies’ supporters, but a great evening was had by all.

Thank you to the Rose Bay staff who volunteered their Saturday evening to accompany the students on the excursion. Without them, this special experience would not have taken place nor been so successful.
