1 About Roomba TV Application

The Roomba TV application is designed for Android TV devices It can be installed on any

Android TV with an internet connection. Our amazing streaming service has Live TV

channels, latest movies, and series to choose from.

Roomba TV has an intuitive and easy to use user interface that lets you stream your

preferred content from popular platforms, including Netflix or Amazon Prime Video in all

the places that matter most. Whether at home on Android TV that's been set up right next

to where you sit, providing you options for viewing delivered programs in HD, FHD and

UHD qualities depending upon your preference.

2 Installation

1. Turn on your Android TV. Click on the Apps icon of your Android TV and go to

Google Play Store.



2. Now, open the Google Play Store from the apps

3. After clicking the app, it will take you to the Sign-in interface of the Google Play

Store. Sign in with your Google Account and Press ok. Now your Android TV has

been set up with your account.

NOTE: If you have already logged into your Google Play Store, then there is no

need to follow the steps above. Just open Google Play Store and search for the

Downloader app.



4. Select the search icon and type Downloader in the search bar. It will show you

the Downloader by AFTV News application.

5. Hit Install and wait for the installation process to finish.



6. When the installation process is finished, open the Downloader and allow it to

access files and media on your device.

7. You have to install the Browser plug-in inside the Downloader app. This will let you connect to the Roomba TV site, download the Roomba TV software, and install it on your Android TV.

For this purpose, at the Browser tab of the Downloader app, copy the URL

“b.aftvnews.com”



Now go to the Home tab of the Downloader app and paste the link in the Home

screen search bar. Alternatively, you can also enter the link manually.

8. After hitting enter, a pop-up message will appear indicating “Your Device is not

allowed to install unknown app from this source”. To resolve this, select

Settings.



9. On Settings, allow the Downloader to install unknown apps. A message stating

unknown source apps may harm your device will show. This message shows up

when installing an application outside Play Store. Since you are downloading the

app from the official Roomba TV website, you can ignore this message.

10. After the browser plug-in is installed in the downloader, go back to the Address

Bar and paste the following link. Hit search.

11. This will download and install the Roomba TV application on your Android TV.

12. A shortcut icon of the Roomba TV app will be created in the Apps section of the

Android TV Home Screen. Go to the apps and click the Roomba TV icon to open

the application.



3 Roomba TV Start Screen

Select Panel

When you first launch the Roomba TV app, you will be asked to select a panel before

logging into the application.

There are two (2) types of Panels:

❖ ROOMBA TV (Selected by default)

❖ ROOMBA TV CDN



Login Screen

Enter your account Username and Password, then select SIGN IN.

NOTE: If you are facing difficulties logging in to the platform, try clicking on "Select Portal"

and select our secondary Portal: Roomba TV CDN.

When you login for the first time, the media contents (i.e., live TV channels, VOD, series,

and TV guide) will be downloaded. This may take a while depending on your network

bandwidth, and selected bouquets in your subscription.



After the media contents are downloaded, the Roomba TV main menu will be displayed.



4 Roomba TV Main Menu

The Roomba TV app consists of the following buttons and information:

Global Search Series

Program Reminders Account

Recordings Multi-screen

VPN (Optional) Catch Up

Notifications Favorites

Update Media Contents Radio

Live TV Settings

TV Guide Subscription Expiration

VOD



4.1 Global Search

Use this option if you would like to search for a specific TV channel name, a movie

name, or a series name.



4.2 Program Reminders

Select this option to check for your set up reminders for programs (e.g., upcoming

movies or new episodes of a series, etc.)

4.3 Recordings

This feature shows the video contents or media that you have recorded while streaming

the Roomba TV app.



4.4 VPN (Optional)

Go to this option if you would like to configure your VPN settings.

4.5 Notifications

This option will display the messages or alerts about the Roomba TV app.



4.6 Update Media Contents

Select this option to update the media contents (i.e., live TV channels, VOD, series,

and TV guide). The update process may take a while depending on your network

bandwidth, and new programs that will be added.



4.7 Live TV

To access the Live TV channels, select the LIVE TV button from the main menu.

You will see the category list of all the available live TV channels, movies channels,

radio stations, etc. To stream and watch a channel, select the desired channel

category.

The first channel on the list will automatically play by default. If a playing channel has

an EPG available, it will be displayed at the bottom of the video player.



4.8 TV Guide

The TV Guide menu displays the scheduling information for current and upcoming

shows and movies for each channel.



4.9 VOD

To watch a VOD (Video on Demand) movie, select the VOD button from the main

menu.

You will see the category list of all the available movie genres (i.e., action, comedy,

crime, romance, documentary, etc.) and new movie releases. To watch a movie, select

a movie from the list.

It will first display the film information. Select PLAY to start playing the movie.

4.10 Series

To watch a series, select the SERIES button from the main menu.

You will see the category list of all the available TV series by genre (i.e., documentary,

drama, history, action, comedy, etc.). To watch a series, select a series from the list.



Select from the available seasons that you would like to watch, then select an episode.

Roomba TV app allows you to continue watching an episode by selecting the Continue

Watching button. It will also indicate the episodes that you have already watched.

4.11 Account

To view your account information, select the ACCOUNT button located at the lower

left-hand corner of the main menu.



The Account Management section will display the current Panel in use.

4.12 Multi-screen

The Roomba TV app supports multi-screen feature where you can play up to four (4)

Live TV programs at the same time.



If you were unable to add more channels, the app will display a pop-up message to

indicate that the allowed connection(s) within the account is reached.

4.13 Catch Up

The Catch Up option allows you to revisit or rewatch past TV shows that you have

missed in airtime. To watch a past TV program, select the CATCH UP button from the

main menu.



You will see a category list of all the available TV channels with past shows. Select

from the available catch up channels list.

Select from the available date(s), then choose a past TV show that you would like to

watch.

4.14 Favorite

This option shows the channel(s) that you have added into the favorite list. To access

your favorite channels easily, select the FAVORITE button from the main menu.

4.15 Radio

To access the radio stations, select the RADIO button from the main menu.



4.16 Settings

This feature lets you see the default settings of the Roomba TV app. To configure your

settings, select the SETTINGS button from the main menu.



4.16.1 App

This button will display the Roomba TV app information.

Select CHECK UPDATE to update the app to the latest version.



4.16.2 Account

Select the Account button to view your account information.



4.16.3 Player Settings

This option allows you to choose a player type to change the display size.

The Roomba TV app supports two (2) types of video players:

❖ VLC PLAYER

❖ EXOPLAYER



4.16.4 Player

This option allows you to select a player type for each feature (i.e., Live TV,

VOD, Series, Catch Up, and Multi-Screen).



4.16.5 Stream Type

This option allows you to select from the supported playback video formats.

The Roomba TV app currently supports two (2) types of stream formats:

❖ MPEGTS (Default)

❖ HLS



4.16.6 Update Contents

This option allows you to update the media contents.

To continue, select UPDATE ALL.



4.16.7 Parental

This option enables you to set up a Password in logging into the Roomba TV

app. This feature allows parents to set control on the app that helps to prevent

children from accessing unsuitable contents.



4.16.8 Speed Test

This option allows you to measure the bandwidth between your device and

the Roomba TV server using your device's internet connection.

To start the speed test, select the Begin Test button.

4.16.9 Backup and Restore

This feature enables you to perform backup or restore of your Roomba TV

app settings.

Before doing a backup or restore, ensure to read the following instructions.



4.16.10 Remote Control

This option displays the current remote control pair code of your Android TV.



4.16.11 Language

The Roomba TV app allows you to change the language settings. English

(US) is the selected language by default.



4.16.12 Other Settings

Select this option to configure the other Roomba TV app settings.



4.16.13 Sign Out

Select this option to sign out from the app.

When the confirmation screen shows up, select YES to redirect to the

Roomba TV Start Screen.



4.17 Subscription Expiration

To keep you reminded of when your account subscription will expire, the main menu

displays your subscription expiration date.
