And it s 7 elements

The Most important culture

Page 2: Rome Magazine

Rome was the heart of one of

the most important old

civilizations which influenced

society, culture, language,

literature, art, architecture,

philosophy, religion, law and

the dress of next centuries.

This is the capital of the

province of Rome in the Lazio

region and Italy. It is an Italian

city of 2,700,000 people.

Roman art includes architecture, painting, sculpture and

mosaic work. Luxury objects in metal-work, gem engraving,

ivory carvings, and glass are sometimes considered in

modern terms to be minor forms of roman art.

Sculpture was perhaps considered as the highest form of art by

Romans, but figure painting was also very highly regarded. The two

forms have had very contrasting rates of survival, with a very large

body of sculpture surviving from about the 1st century BC.

From the time of Julius Caesar, 48BC, Rome and the Roman

Empire was ruled by an Emperor. The Emperor was wise if he

listened to the advice of the Senate but some chose to be dictators and do what they wanted rather than follow the Senate's advice.

Rome, also hosts major international and worldwide political and

cultural organizations. Rome grew momentously after the war, as

one of the driving forces behind the “Italian economic miracle" of

post-war reconstruction and modernization.

Roman coins were an important means of

propaganda, and have survived in enormous

numbers.

The major contributions made by Rome to culture have been law

and Latin, origin of many modern languages, and many words in

non-Romance languages. During the Republic, and after the

conquest of Greece, the Roman culture undergoes a profound

transformation, characterized by the introduction of the Hellenistic

civilization.

People were divided into different classes. There

were Patricians, Plebeians and Slaves.

Patricians: were wealthy citizens of Rome.

Plebeians: were not wealthy but they were citizens

of Rome.

Commoners: were the people who did not enjoy

all the rights and privileges.

Slaves: had no money, no rights, no freedom and

were not citizens of Rome.
