OnthisfirstweekendofChristmaswealwayscelebrateit with The Holy Family. Each day at Mass this past week we heard of the stories not just about the Christ Child in the Manger, but why He was conceived in The Virgin’s womb to begin with...to save us and lead us to Him. Don’t miss any part of it or when the tree comes down after the Wisemen come, you might just get packed awaywiththeornamentsandneverfindyourwayTheCross that will always lead to His Glory! So, how are you planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve this year? Will it be in grace or in gluttony, in partying or in praying? This year our pastoral staff is proposing an option that you can be a part of at anytime from following the 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass for our Theotokos (Mary Mother of God) until after the ball drops in Times Square. How about stopping in for a little New Year’s Eve fun with Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration? That’s right...end your 2019 in thanksgiving or begin your 2020 with the perfect vision of faith in Adoration. Come in for any of it or all of it...what a night!
Have a Blessed Christmasand a Holy New Year,
Fr. Bline

MATTHEW 10:8 AFTER THE 11:00 A.M. MASS FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH
If you or a loved one would like to receive prayers for healing, know that a new group has formed at St. Francis de Sales called Matthew 10:8. These St. Francis de Sales parishioners will be available to pray with you for healing after the 11:00 a.m.Mass the first Sundayof the month. The name Matthew 10:8 comes from Jesus’ call for Catholics to “Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give” (Mt. 10:8). This is a beautiful opportunity for faith and prayer from your fellow parishioners who want to pray with you for healing. Please keep Matthew 10:8 in your prayers, too, as they seek to bring Jesus’ healing into the world through prayer.”
On January 20th St. Franciswill hold its first of four blooddrives this year. Our last one for 2019 in October was a big success and we thank our wonderful donors! We hope to do as well, if not better, this time. Please take the time to give this “special” gift of life.

UPCOMING WOMEN’S BOOK STUDYWHO DOES HE SAY YOU ARE?
Who Am I...? Such a basic question, and yet, we still seem to grapple with it long beyond our adolescent days. We grasp for identity often in our talents and what we do and yet our identity in Christ seems to elude us. Our women's study group would love to have you join us as we explore this topic through our next book, Who Does He Say You Are? by Colleen Mitchell. This Catholic missionary mom uses her own life experiences as well as stories of 13 women from the Bible and how they discovered their identities and guides the readers on their own transforming journey. Meetings are Tuesdays, 9-11 beginning on January 7th with discussion of the Intro and Chapter 1. For more details contact Lori at [email protected]. For help in ordering a book contact Michelle at [email protected].

COLLECTION OF BABY ITEMSThe collection will continue through January 1st in the narthex. The director of the Embrace Care Clinic in Barberton suggests the following: “I think we are pretty well set on diapers at the moment. However, we can use Gerber formula, clothes for preemies and clothing sizes 0-4T. If someone wishes to donate something a little pricier, we would be very thrilled to receive convertible cribs and infant or convertible car seats. If someone wishes to donate money, I can guarantee that it will be used toward our most pressing client needs. For example, approximately $20.00 will buy a can of formula, approximately $50.00 will buy a car seat, $100.00 will buy a crib and $150.00 will buy a crib and a crib mattress.” Please send your check made payable to the Embrace Clinic and Care Center to the following address:
Embrace Clinic and Care Center180 1st St NW
Barberton OH 44203
The CDs are back in the rack. Take a peek in the narthex at the new titles. This is a great way to grow in your faith and share it with others. They make great gifts and even stocking stuffers.
