Your role
Assume responsibility and accountability for own actions, standards of practice and outcomes of
own practice
Contribute to positive patient outcomes by:
- Providing direct or indirect nursing care that includes planning, implementing and evaluating
nursing actions in collaboration and consultation with the other health professionals and the
patient and/or their family/carers.
- Adhering to policies, procedures and guidelines that ensure best practice, and maintain the
safety of patients and colleagues
- Seeking support and assistance in decision making from the RN/RM
- Providing support and mentorship to other members of the healthcare team including
Assistants in Nursing and nursing students
Contribute to activities to achieve unit performance indicators and meet relevant standards
Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and consolidating educational preparation through
professional development of self and others which may include participation in research and quality
activities
Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management
practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical
behaviour.
Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures
relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
