THE NAVY’S EXPERIMEN TAL RAILGUN FIRES A HARDENED PROJECTILE

AT STAGGERING VELOCITY—A BATTLEFIELD METEORITE WITH THE

POWER TO BLOW HOLES IN ENEMY SHIPS AND LEVEL TERRORIST CAMPS

By Julian E. Barnes

DAHLGREN, Va.—A warning siren bellowed through the concrete bunker of a top-secret Naval

facility where U.S. military engineers prepared to demonstrate a weapon for which there is little

defense. Officials huddled at a video screen for a first look at a deadly new supergun that can fire

a 25-pound projectile through seven steel plates and leave a 5-inch hole. The weapon is called a

railgun and requires neither gunpowder nor explosive. It is powered by electromagnetic rails that

accelerate a hardened projectile to staggering velocity—a battlefield meteorite with the power to

one day transform military strategy, say supporters, and keep the U.S. ahead of advancing Russian

and Chinese weaponry. Read more…………..

The job of RMNA from now to the end of July is to get signatures from registered Colorado voters to get this measure on the November 2016 Ballot. Dick Young asked for and received 12 Petitions, along with specific instructions. He is looking for at least 12 of our members to take and collect as many signatures as possible between now and the last of July. Don’t feel you have to get 50 signatures (the number on each Petition). But you have got to try to get as many as you can, whether that is 10, 15, or 50. And remember, you cannot sign your own Petition.

I just received these Petitions and want to get them out to those who will try to get signa-tures. You need to let me know as soon as possible that you will take one of these petitions and will do your best to get as many signatures as you can during these next 30 days. I am hopeful that twelve of you will take a petition and circulate it until you either get it filled in with 50 registered signatures with addresses, or you’ve got as many as you can by the end of July. Once you are ready to turn it in. we are arranging to have a time and place where you bring the petition and there have it notarized by a notary public. So folks, even if you have not been able to attend our monthly get togethers, or perhaps didn’t want to attend, here is one thing you can do that will really help all Veterans and their families who do live here in Colorado.

The date of 1 August 2016 at 1300 is reserved at Fitzsimons GC for our annual golf outing. Joe Golding is working on the logistics, prices, etc. set up. As last year, we have opened it up to all military personnel (generally Navy in this case) along with their spouses and friends. He is hoping to get four foursomes at least and get these players from NOSC, NRD, and RMNA. Joe will put the word out at our next RMN Monday meeting.
