material cools quickly
• Intrusive– Formed INSIDE
the earth– Mineral
grains/crystals are LARGE•Molten
material cools slowly
Metamorphic Rocks
• Created inside the earth through HEAT and pressure
• Mineral grains are flat and aligned
• All rocks (sedimentary, igneous and/or metamorphic) can become metamorphic rocks under the right conditions
