Dear Cattle Producers,

This letter may be written a little bit differently this year, That is because I am notmy dad. After a week (in which I thought he was joking with me), I finally realizedmy dad was serious about me writing the cover letter for our bull customers. Aftersome deliberation, I gave in and realized I might be just as fit to address our buy-ers this year as my father.

I spent the whole summer working alongside my dad and my grandparents at theranch. I learned a lot of valuable lessons, like how to wring my hands and lookconcerned when the tractor was broken down, and how to say “oh, nothing” whensomeone mumbled under their breath.

I have quite a few good memories from working on the ranch this summer. Wehosted the Kansas Simmental Association tour and an ABS Tour. While it was wetand muddy, we couldn’t complain and the guests all seemed to enjoy themselves.The ABS Tour consisted of a group of Brazilian cattle breeders who were looking atdifferent breeding options for their herds. Rock Creek Ranch was honored to showoff some of our best Simmental genetics to the group.

This year we will be selling the bulls private treaty for your convenience. As I wasputting together the catalog, I could feel the excitement through the EPD’s,pedigrees, and footnotes my dad has written for all of you. This is a great group ofbulls and I hope all of you might have the chance to come and check them out. Mydad has joked that this will be the first year buyers will request to have their bull’sname changed! While my dad got to name the powerful front runners of the group,I got to name the rest of the herd. It is actually quite difficult to come up with thismany “A” names, but baby web sites were a great help!
