B13 = B14…software, program, and configuration will be identical

These two controllers will now be identical from a software perspective.

You will have to re-master the robot, as the servo counts are lost during this process. Please remember to touch up the points on any mold programs before starting production. 

 Ok now we will restore the controller image files. Insert your compact flash card that has your image back up files.

Turn off power to the controller.

Press and hold the F1 and F5 keys at the same time when turning on the power to the controller. You can let go when you see the boot menu.

From the BOOT MONITOR menu, select 4. Controller backup/restore

!!!! Never hit 3. INIT start, this will wipe the controller memory !!!!

From the BACKUP / RESTORE MENU select 3. Restore Controller as Images

!!! This is the point of no-return !!! Make ABSOLUTELY certain that you have the correct image file backup on your memory card, because the first thing this does is wipe the existing software from the controller. Also, don’t try to load an RJ3 image file onto an RJ3ib controller, or visa versa, as it will permanently damage the controller hardware…

Select 1 for yes.

The controller will first delete all images on the internal memory, and then begin loading the images stored on the memory card. This process can take about 5 minutes. When finished you will be prompted with –Restore complete—Press ENTER to return.

You will be returned to the BOOT MONITOR menu. At this point you can turn power off, and then back on to the controller, and let it start up as normal.

 When the controller restarts, it will be loaded with the exact programs, configurations, and settings of whatever controller the image files originally came from. For instance…if you create image back-ups from a controller on B13, and then use them to restore the controller on B14, these two controllers will be identical software and program wise. 

You will now have to re-master the robot, as the servo counts have been lost. Please remember to touch up any programs before beginning production.
