Warm up Letter to Romeo or Juliet Write a letter from the Montagues to Romeo, or the Capulets to Juliet, expressing their disappointment in their son’s or daughter’s decision to elope with one of the enemies of the family. Warm up Letter to Romeo or Juliet

Write a letter from the Montagues to Romeo, or the Capulets to Juliet, expressing their disappointment in their son’s or daughter’s decision to elope with one of the enemies of the family. - Two cookies held together with cream filling = two sentences held together by a connector - You can buy Oreos at different stores.  The difference is only how much you pay.   1.  Dollar Store- $1.00 (1 thing in the center)   ex.  I like Oreos; I eat them often.   2.  Wal-mart- $2.00 (2 things in the center)   ex.  I like Oreos, so I eat them often.   3.  Harris Teeter- $3.00 (3 things in the center)   ex.  I like Oreos; therefore, I eat them often.   REMEMBER TO SHOP AROUND!  WRITE WITH VARIETY!!!

Coordinating Conjunctions and but for nor or so yet

4.  Trader Joe’s (1 thing in the middle, but definitely a specialty shop)   ex.  One thing is certain:  I love Oreos! ex.  I’ve learned an important lesson:  eating lots of Oreos makes my stomach hurt.   *Colon is best used when you want to:             - add a sentence that explains the first   ex.  Oreos are the perfect dessert—the chocolate cookies and cream filing are so tasty. ex.  I love Oreos so much—I used to hide them under my pillow.   * Dash is best used when you want to:             - add a sentence that explains the first             - add a sentence that is abrupt/surprising/contradictory

In the blank, write whether the sentence is Simple or Dollar Store (DS), Wal-mart (WM), or  Harris Teeter (HT).  Add a triangle around connectors.
