Community Clean UpOn Saturday, March 23rd, Advanced Disposal helped us put on our first Community Clean Up. We filled 4
roll off dumpsters with trash and yard waste! The rain kept our common area clean up from happening but we still
helped many neighbors clean out their garages, closets and pantries.
Here is a big thank you to Riverwood's Boy Scout Troop 620 and their Leaders, we
could not have done it without them and of course Advanced Disposal!
Congratulations to Middleton resident Jeremy Armstrong for winning one year of trash removal and recycling service
courtesy of Advanced Disposal. Community Blood Drive
Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone that came out and donated at our Community Blood Drive on March
2nd. We are very excited about the support we received and
thank Shepeard Community Blood Center for providing us
with this opportunity. We look forward to partnerning with Shepeard again in the
future!

Spring Photos and Visits with the Easter Bunny
We hope to see you there
next year!
Our youngest residents joined us on the Clubhouse lawn on Saturday, March 30th for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. They enjoyed a visit from the Easter Bunny, crafts, and of course the day wouldn’t have been complete without the Easter Egg hunt! We couldn’t have asked for a more
beautiful, sunny, spring day. Thank you to everyone that joined us at this wonderful family event, including our Greenbrier High School volunteers. This continues to be one of our favorite events of the year!
We will be nishing this up after Saturday when our annual Easter egg hunt takes place.

COVENANT CORNER
Stop That Barking!
Dogs left alone all day get bored and restless, and many find relief in barking. Some respond noisily to any and all activity. Nothing is as annoying as incessant barking—even for dog lovers. If your dog is a yapper or a yowler, please consider some of these bark-abatement ideas to keep the noise down
in your area. Your neighbors will thank you!
TRAINING. Always the first recommendation for any behavioral problem! Help is as close as the Yellow Pages. Training not only helps your dog, you’ll be surprised how much it helps you, too. You
may get some insight into why your dog barks so much, or what they are trying to communicate.
CITRONELLA COLLARS. A humane alternative to the electric-shock, anti-barking collar and costs about the same. These are available on the web and in pet stores.
CONFINEMENT. Sometimes simply bringing an outspoken dog indoors or confining it to a crate can cut down on the disturbance to neighbors.
REDUCE STIMULUS. Close drapes to help muffle street noise, or leave a radio on to mask it. Discon-nect telephones and doorbells before leaving your home if they
upset your dog or make it bark.
COMPANIONSHIP. Dogs are pack animals; they need companionship—a cat, bird, or another dog. Consider a mid-day visit from a pet-sitting service, or drop your pooch off at a friend’s place or a
day-care facility once or twice a week.
Please talk to your neighbors about your concerns first; they may not know there is an issue. If you are unable to solve the issue directly with your neighbor you have the option of reporting your concerns to
Columbia County by dialing 3-1-1 from within the County or online at http://www.columbiacountyga.gov/index.aspx?recordid=99&page=3027. Depending on the time of day the barking is occurring it may be a violation of the Columbia county noise ordinance. Should you wish to
report this after hours based on the noise ordinance the appropriate avenue for that is to call the non emergency number for Columbia County Sheriff’s Department at 706-541-2800. They will go out and
create a case number which will be forwarded onto Animal Services the next business day.
We oer doggie day care in a country setting for socialization and fun.
Extended stay boarding also available.
We are your pets home away from home and are less than 3 miles away!
Great rates for our furry friends in Riverwood.

Getting to Know Ruth Pearl and Her FamilyArtist Ruth Pearl and her husband Ken Elliott chose to live in Riverwood Plantation when Ken
relocated to Georgia for employment in 2002. They have found Columbia County to be an attractive area and especially like the diverse neighborhood plan within Riverwood. The pond and trails are an added bonus.
Born in England and having lived a decade in Africa, Ruth derives inspiration for paintings from the natural world including her present garden. Color is a signifi-cant influence so she appreciates sunsets observed during evening walks.
Since moving to the CSRA, Ruth has exhibited her work in several venues and is a member of the Artists' Guild of Columbia County. She is a partner at Gallery on the Row on Broad Street in Augusta, where her work can be viewed. Thank you for sharing your work and bringing something extra special to Riverwood Plantation.
