A Message from the Principals Our Year 4 students travelled to Sci Tech on Thursday and enjoyed the interactive facilities there whilst learning some science concepts. Of particular interest was the planetarium and of course the robotics session was very popular. Thank you to Ms Hunter for her preparatory work and to those teachers and Education Assistants who supervised and guided our students. The excursions continue this week with the Year 5 students travelling to the Perth Mint and Elizabeth Quay on Wednesday, as part of their studies at school. I am sure it will be an informative and stimulating day for the students involved. Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) selection testing has been completed at the campus, with our Year 4 students undergoing the testing for selection into PEAC for 2018 on Friday and Monday. The tests will be marked and analysed by the regional PEAC staff members, after which parents will be contacted about the results placements. Thank you to Mrs O’Connell for her organisation and to the teachers for their support and assistance. Our soccer team travelled to Spearwood after school on Friday to complete in the Primary School State Championships. They played really well and finished a credible fourth. Congratulations to the students and thank you to Mr Brooks for his hard work preparing and organising the team. Finally, thank you also to the parents who came along and supported the team throughout the tournament. Well done to all involved. Our students can be very proud of their efforts and the way they represented the campus. Back at the campus, our students were visited by players from the Fremantle Dockers who ran some footy clinics for them on Friday afternoon. The students really enjoyed themselves and had a great time doing skills and fun filled activities. Thank you to the Dockers for their support of AFL in schools and to Mr Brooks who organised the visit. What a great way to end the week! I am pleased to note that some of our students also travelled to Domain Stadium on Saturday and took part in a number of junior competitions including hand passing and kicking events. It was a great opportunity for them to play the game and be there at the Don’t forget that our Junior Assembly is on Friday in the Covered Assembly Area, beginning at 9.00am. I look forward to seeing lots of parents and family at the event. Parents are also reminded that the Interschool Cross Event is being held on Tuesday 15 th August (next Tuesday) in Willetton. Our team has been training hard at school and I have no doubt that they will do really well and represent their school with great success. I wish them all the best. Thanks to Mr Brooks for all his preparatory work. I look forward to seeing those students run and seeing parents and friends who are able to come along and support the runners. We have had a couple of break-ins recently to cars parked around the campus just before the start of the school day. The thieves have stolen property such as wallets, bags and cards from the locked cars. This is just a reminder to parents who leave their car and come into school with their children that they should bring all their valuables with them, and not leave any in their cars. Naturally, cars should be locked and I ask people to keep a close eye out for any unusual behaviour or activity around the cars on the streets at the time. If you see anything suspicious or untoward, please contact the office immediately so that we may contact police and take action. Thanks in advance for your support.
