At River Café we champion quality well-crafted wines, terroir and regional expression. We favour many small artisanal producers for their style, philosophy and dedication in the vineyard. There are many choices to balance seasonal flavours we feature on our menu.

River Café Wine List Philosophy
We have selected wines from the major wine producing regions of the world and arranged them predominantly by their grape varietal and then by the region and terrôir where they were produced. The wines from the ‘new world’ are often placed in association with the wines from specific geographical regions in the ‘old world’ made from the same grapes. The list offers wines by the glass, bottle, half bottle and some unique larger bottles. We are proud of the rapid progress in quality wines from Canada and, in keeping with our local and regional culinary philosophy, we have chosen to feature them as an additional category.
Our cellar houses some verticals which are listed throughout the main body of the wine list. We generally favor wines for their style, expression, and approachability. We have favorite wineries and winemakers, and we enjoy the wines they produce in almost every vintage as an expression of the unique growing conditions of that season. Our goal is to continue to build a comprehensive cellar of delicious wines well suited to our food and philosophy. We hope your selection enhances your dining experience with us.
We allow guests to bring in their own wine and we charge a $25.00 corkage fee for each 750ml bottle with a maximum of two corkage bottles per table. On Sunday* however, we welcome you to bring that special bottle at no charge. (*Sundays in December are the exception)
Enjoy our selection and please don’t hesitate to ask us for guidance.

RoséThere are few wines that opitimize summer as well as a crisp glass of rosé. Although we’ll agree that these wines are great all year round, their versatility shines as the sun does. The perfect bridge between white and red, rosé is the consummate food wine. Here are a few of our favorites, please ask us for a recommendation with your meal.
