Big Saturdays in 2018Starting with an afternoon’s racing on Saturday 28th April, featuringthe Download Atheraces App Handicap.We then kick off the Go Racing in Yorkshire ‘Yorkshire RacingSummer Festival’ on Saturday 21st July as we celebrate YorkshireRacing with a fun filled afternoon of quality racing and one of thehottest social events of the summer!
Saturday 18th August is our most valuable day of racing featuringThe William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap. One of the hottestsprint races of the summer, it’s a date not to be missed!

FAQ’s / New RacegoersWe hope that most of your queries can be answered after visiting our websitewww.ripon-races.co.uk with a large ‘New Racegoers’ section with informationon what to wear, what to bring, arrival and parking. We also have a new ‘VirtualTour’ which enables you to have a good look around before you visit.
When should I get to the Racecourse?Gates open two hours before the first race, noon on Ladies Day and 11.30am onall Saturday’s and Bank Holiday Monday. Traffic can build up on a racedayespecially on weekend fixtures so it is always advisable to arrive in plenty of time.A complimentary Bus service operates both before and after racing from Riponcoach park (located opposite Ripon Bus Station) direct to our main car park.
What’s the difference between a Standard and Feature day?The main difference is our Feature racedays are Saturday meetings, Standardmeetings are evenings and non-Saturdays. Feature racedays are much busierdays and generally have higher quality racing with larger crowds than standard days.
Do I need to pre-book tickets?We offer pre-booked discounts for all Enclosures including a free ticket for theorganiser of group bookings of 11+ in our Paddock Enclosure.
Please note, all packages will need to be pre-booked. General admission to ourClub, Paddock & Course Enclosures are available on the day unless otherwise statedon our website.
ParkingParking is completely FREE and is located on the right immediately as you comethrough the gates. The car park can get busy so ensure you arrive early to getclose to the entrance. If you have booked a ‘Car on Course’ ticket please follow thesigns for that entrance, this is the 1st entrance on the left as you approach theracecourse from the A1 at junction 48.
Dress CodeClub Enclosure - Racegoers of all ages are encouraged to dress smartly in theClub Enclosure. We ask that gentlemen wear a collared shirt and smart trousers.Smart jeans (no rips, tears or fraying) and tailored shorts are permitted but t-shirts,sportswear and trainers are not acceptable. Please take the opportunity to dressup for the occasion, however we do appreciate that we race in the summer andwe do expect warm weather.
Paddock / Course Enclosure - There is no formal dress code for these areas butwe do ask that people still dress in a manner of taste and decency. Bare chestsare not acceptable.
Bringing food and drink into the Racecourse We allow picnics into both the Paddock and Course Enclosures, with a smallamount of alcohol (4 cans or the equivalent per person, strictly no glass)permitted alongside picnics in the Course Enclosure ONLY. Please note randomchecks will take place at the management’s discretion. Any alcohol attempted tobe brought into the Club & Paddock turnstiles will be confiscated. Bottled softdrinks are permitted to be brought in all enclosures but the bottle must be sealed.
Drinking around the Racecourse We now allow racegoers to enjoy a drink whilst enjoying the racing aroundthe Racecourse. On busy days there will be selected non-drinking areas, with apermanant no-drinking area in the Club Stand seating. Please note, no glasswill be allowed to be taken out of any bars. Please ask for a plastic glass on orderingif you intend to leave the bar with your drink.
Are there disabled facilities?We have limited disabled parking outside the Racecourse entrance; these are ona first come basis and cannot be reserved. The remainder of the car parking ison flat ground but mainly grassed. Inside the racecourse it is fairly easy to getabout with plenty of flat tarmac walkways. There are disabled toilets and mostof the bars and restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users. Many disabledvisitors have commented that the ability to bring a car onto the Course Enclosureand park directly adjacent to the track is a great advantage. We have a small varietyof wheelchairs and scooters available to hire on a raceday, please call to book thesein advance.

Buses - 36 Leeds – Harrogate – Ripon 70 Northallerton – Thirsk – Ripon 142, 143 – York – Boroughbridge – Ripon
Road - FREE PARKING AT THE RACECOURSE Ripon is most easily accessed by the A1(M).
Approaching from the South – leave the A1 at Junction 48 followingbrown signs for Ripon Cathedral/Newby Hall.
Approaching from the North – leave the A1 where it is joined bythe A61 signposted for Ripon, turn left at the 3rd roundabout and theRacecourse is just a few hundred yards on the right.
Approaching either from the East or the West – take the A61 tothe Ripon bypass and follow the brown signs to the racecourse.

Getting here
The complimentary Ripon Races Shuttle BusOur new FREE shuttle bus service in partnership with Sherwoods of Riponwill be running for 90 minutes before the first race, before continuing witha return journey for 30 minutes after racing.
The service will operate bothbefore and after racing from Riponcoach park (located opposite RiponBus Station) to a dedicated spotin our main car park.
