Rima Viliamas‐Boncha May 7, 1979 – October 5, 2006 Rima Viliamas‐Boncha was a Cleveland player who exemplified the spirit and support of the ultimate community and was the type of teammate, friend, and advocate that we all hope to be. Whether she was captaining her college and club teams, running Cleveland’s summer leagues, or traveling around the country with any number of teams, Rima is remembered for her wide arsenal of throws, her limitless generosity, her posititve attitude, and more. Rima dedicated much time and effort into the development of ultimate in Cleveland and in the Midwest; our community would not be what it is today were it not for her. In June 2006, at age 27, Rima was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Although she lost the fight to cancer after just four short months, we will continue telebrate her life and will always remember her on and off the field. Through Ultimate, we become more than competitors, we become family. It is in light of this sense of unity that we pay tribute to her. All proceeds from tournament merchandise goes toward the Rima Foundation, which provides scholarships to local youth ultimate players.
