FAQ Q: What is the “poster”? A: Dynamic photo with a concentrated fundraiser effort Q: Show me the money? A: Ad space limited to 24 business card size ads Each ad is $200 Q: How many posters will be printed A: 500 Q: Who is allowed the opportunity to buy an ad space? A: LO Track/family members have the first opportunity tonight to buy a Track Poster ad space, followed by supporPve business in our community. Q: What is the Poster Theme this year? A: Will be determined by the athlete’s, it is unknown if they are accepPng parental suggesPons.
Booster Club Membership MEMBERSHIP PACKAGES There are two ways to join:

Basic membership $35 Includes:

• Our goal is for parents and coaches to make track a great experience for our athletes

MEETS
• League Meets on Wednesday • Invites (2) on Friday, Laker and CoQon • I’ll send you a TIME SCHEDULE • LO, Canby, Tigard meets start at 3 30 start, OC starts at 4 00 • On schedule=3 hours, which is fast when you consider that it is four teams (3:30-‐6:30)
MEETS • 15 Individual Events + 2 Relays • 53 varsity posiPons • Each meet we can enter 3 varsity, unlimited JV • Each athlete can enter 4 events in any combo (1 Var + 3 JV,
3 Var + 1 JV, or 2 Var + 2 JV) • Our team goal: each athlete does 3-‐4 events • Team meePng at end of meet-‐celebraPon, you are invited • Stay to the end of the meet, ride the bus home • Kids driving themselves-‐with signed signature • Coaches cannot release an athlete to go home with
another parent without permission
SCORING
• Dual meets 145 total points 73 wins • 1st=5 points, 2nd=3 points, 3rd=1 point • Relays are 5 points for 1st, 0 points for 2nd • InvitaPonal's scoring is usually 8 places 10-‐8-‐6-‐5-‐4-‐3-‐2-‐1
• Varsity has a TRL Dual Meet Champion and a TRL District Meet Champion. Then State Meet team scores
SCHEDULE • PracPce Meet at Tigard with David Douglas no team score, Wed before Spring Break
• No pracPce during Spring Break • First league meet-‐Grant-‐1st Wed acer Break • Laker Classic Invite-‐two entries per event-‐Friday, April 1
• Season ends: JV Districts, Varsity Districts, State for Varsity only

Track Bag
• Extra clothes-‐warm, hat, gloves, sweatshirt, socks, T-‐shirt, etc.
• Rain gear • Spikes or compePPon shoes (extra dry shoes) • Towel • Extra food/drink • Personal items • Lucky charm or a “Good Luck” note
MONEY • None of acPvity fee ($300) comes to track or any other
sport. It goes into the General Fund • I have a District track budget—about $1700 (last year it was
$2500) for all equipment, uniforms and faciliPes. TransportaPon, meet officials and coaches salaries are in another budget

PRACTICE • 3:00-‐5:30 everyday, maybe some Saturdays • AQendence-‐I do not take roll • Meet in Batcave, finish in Batcave • Needs to have elbows and knees covered in cold and wet weather
• Rain gear-‐”Love the rain”, “cold is exciPng” • Welcome to OR-‐sun in AM then rains at 3 00 • Tell them to have extra clothes in backpack, but do not need to wear if weather is OK
• Private coaching during season is not helpful
COMMUNICATIONS
• Emails-‐my main form of communicaPon • StarPng a Facebook track page • I respond in AM, limiPng my own Pme • TexPng, emailing and calling-‐coaches will be professionally communicaPng with athletes
• Your kid needs to be empowered to talk to coaches. If there is a problem or concern your athlete needs to talk to coach
UNIFORMS • Singlets, shorts, sweatpants, jacket • Cleaning direcPons but please to not dry the singlets and shorts (melt) • Order Spirit Wear. athlete design and Nike . Encouraged but not required • Must turn in same number, cleaned and in the bag at Awards Night • Buy a Team Jacket • Spandex shorts-‐selling
SHOES • Monday Night, Spike Night at Foot Traffic 5 30-‐7 30 PM 20 % off that night only. Family OK
• Portland Running Company 25% off spikes, 15% training shoes, 10% clothing
• Nike-‐spike, throwing and jumping shoes-‐Order Form coming soon
• Check with event coach to know what you need for shoes
• Cheaper the beQer and ocen training/technique makes more difference than the shoes
EATING/WATER • “Pounding” to eat: breakfast, lunch, snack before pracPce, snack acer pracPce (RECOVERY-‐Window of Opportunity), dinner • Water-‐stay hydrated. I have water boQles to sell for $5.00. Each needs to have their own…do not share • Kids are hungry
