2 nd July 2012 RIGHT....BUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS The final of EURO 2012 finished 4-0 to Spain. Now four goals for any side can spell bad news for ASP devotees but as we know, there is almost always a time for getting out with a good profit or at worst a small loss, well before the fourth goal is scored. Remember, more than 90% of games end in our favour. It was the huge 26.0 odds to lay AU which persuaded me to give this game a miss. This was a huge disappointment because I really wanted to say farewell to this tournament with a sizeable win. But I am very conscious of leaving my comfort zone so I decided to watch and wait. With lay odds for 0-0 at 6.8 it was generally accepted that this would be a low scoring match and it could have been argued that laying AU could be done with confidence. Ironic wasn't it that it was the AU and not the 0-0 odds which were completely wrong. I'm glad I listened to my head and got it right even though it was for the wrong reasons. I have included a screenshot of my results for every match of the tournament. I confess, not a huge profit but a steady one nevertheless and a clear demonstration that ASP is great value for money as it can be used all year around. Our system is built around safety and I believe that the spreadsheet showing every one of the 4351 results so far, demonstrates this. Sadly, I now have to announce that my personal circumstances are going to prevent me from continuing to blog past Euro 2012 so this really is the end for me. My intention originally was to do so for at least another month or so on, perhaps, a weekly basis but, unfortunately, I am not going to be able to continue. RIGHT....BUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

The final of EURO 2012 finished 4-0 to Spain.

Having discussed this with John, he has said that he will continue to blog when he can in my stead.

I wish you all the success with ASP that I have had. This is Geoff signing off for the very last time.

OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE

Who would believe it? Italy were perceived as the underdogs yet Balotelli put them in the lead after 20 minutes. I had decided to be daring and up the ante by laying AU for £12 at odds of 15.50. Expensive I know but I have an increasing belief in the laying of AU as the means to get our profit. £12 was much more than I normally bet and it put me, in truth, well outside of my comfort zone but as matches in the Euro Tournament are running out fast I decided to have a go.

My strategy was to wait about 20 minutes and then lay 0-0 at odds of 6. Well Super Mario beat me to it but as it was the outsider who had scored this was not bad news as the likeliest thing to happen is that the favourites will always come back strong and equalise. So I layed 0-1 for a fiver at 7.80. I was even further out of my comfort zone when Balotelli made it 0-2 at 36 minutes leaving me with a huge liability on AU but in contrast, a green middle of £17.

I know that knee jerk reactions are never the way so I didn't panic and frankly, you need to read the game, were Germany really going to buckle and go down to 4 goals?

Happily anyway, the AU odds rose quite quickly and I breathed a gentle sigh of relief and was able to back AU at big odds to get rid of the AU liability. By laying 0-2 I was able to restore a nice green figure in the middle but with only a small liability on 0-2 which I later took care of by laying 2-2. Oh yes, you can look for other score-line lays to help don’t forget.

Within minutes of the end of the game, with Germany failing to score so far, I reversed this last bet to go all green again.

The penalty for Germany which made it 1-2 helped improve my profit from £1.70 (which I had on 0-2 at German goal time) to £9.16.

I have often been asked why I do not use much higher stakes and I have always replied that whenever I do so I start to feel uncomfortable. Last night was a very good example with a huge liability of about £170 on AU with the score at 0-2. I know that if I consistently staked at these levels I would make a huge income from ASP but you have to be true to yourself. The fact is I didn’t like it one bit.

We all have to find our own comfort zone and then stick to it. I hope yours is higher than mine so that you are making bigger profits. But I am sticking to small stakes and relying on not losing any matches (well very few) and continually pulling in small profits of about £4 to £5 a game. Nearly 2½ years and 4342 matches and £16785 profit later, experience tells me I'm right. What do you think?

ONE MORE NO SCORE DRAW BORE

What a disappointing match yesterday. At least the law of averages was restored when we got our second 0-0 final score of the tournament. All followers of ASP now know that although this may not produce a good profit, there is no excuse for a serious loss on any game like this.

Laying AU at 19 was expensive but for two great teams like Spain and Portugal, four goals for one team was highly unlikely. On the other hand, everyone expected at least one goal from the likes of Silva, Torres, Ronaldo et al and it pays to be safe so I did, as you'll see below, cover the possibility of a sudden burst of goal activity by backing AU into a significant profit.

But it wasn't to be a simple game and I found myself backing out at half time by backing 0-0 at 3.40. This turned out to be a wise decision as I was looking at a loss then of only £1.70 with only injury time to go.

Page 4: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

I know it’s frustrating to lose on any match but I would remind you that until you are more confident it's safety first with ASP and I have been working from pure profit for a long time now and you will be too if you take the time and trouble to look at the material we provide for you.

I still made some money on some other lesser matches yesterday that helped to compensate me. The profit comes from the volume of games combined with the discipline to exit when you need to and cut the losses to a minimum.

IT HAD TO HAPPEN

Well two things had to happen. First that overdue 0-0 end score happened and second, England lost on penalties. Just before the match the lay AU odds stood at 27 and even I was daunted with that even though the lay 0-0 odds were very attractive at 7.2.

The obvious thing to do was to wait for the first goal which, if it came early enough, would drop the AU down to a very manageable 10 or so. But that didn't happen so, consequently, I did not get on the match. Late in the match I was tempted to lay 2-1 and lay 0-0 in the hope of a late goal but I decided against this as it is not pure ASP and also the odds on 2-1 were very high.

My disappointment because of England's departure was matched by my smugness about avoiding the only 0-0 so far in the tournament.

Now we have to wait for Wednesday when Portugal meet Spain. No 0-0 here I think, so ASP will be at it again making more assured profits.

NAUGHTY BUT NICE, A LESSON IN WHAT NOT TO DO!

I confess. The lay odds for AU just before the start of the match were 20 and for 0-0, 7.8. I felt the AU odds were far too high with the goal scoring talents of the Spaniards. So I decided to wait to see how long it would take for the first goal to be scored and for the subsequent, inevitable drop in 0-0. It was still in the back of my mind that there still hasn't been a nil nil end result but it was no surprise when

Page 5: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

Spain scored in the 19th minute. Why I did not lay 0-0 in this instance, even without AU layed, I do not know, let us just say some days we can be distracted and I guess yesterday was one of those for me.

However, we promise a warts and all report here and that is what I'm doing, total honesty nothing hidden from any of you.

Soon after the goal from Spain it was possible to lay AU at 10 and 1-0 at 4.2 and I was happy to leave the match promising myself that I would keep Flashscore's sound turned up to alert me when the next goal was scored.

Then I completely forgot about it as, for the rest of the match I was on Skype to an overseas friend of mine and the match went out of my head during a thoroughly engrossing and entertaining conversation until I heard Flashscore announce 2-0 to Spain. Having come back to my senses with a jolt, I was shocked to see that the goal was scored in the 90th minute and instead of losing £13 I had in fact won £8. The fact is I should have lost the £13 in this game and had my proverbial wrists slapped.

I know that I should have paid more attention to the game and I should have traded my way out of the game a couple of times to lose something like £2.50 or £3 so I didn't deserve the win. I think Messrs Sod and Murphy had a night off and I had a really lucky escape!

You might think, "why is he telling us this, if I did this and then lost, I would know I did it all wrong and it was my fault". Well, I am sharing this with you because you need to know that even I can make mistakes and errors of judgement and perhaps it’s good to enforce how not to do it as well as how to from time to time. The fact is that this game should have been a simple in and out with a small profit affair.

Yes, it was fine to lay AU after the goal. It was fine to lay 1-0 but I should have reversed the 1-0 lay early to minimise loss and YES to also minimise profit. Truth is, the 1-0 lay wasn't even necessary and I could have and should have layed 0-0 and this would have been a bog-standard typical report.

I escaped a wrist slapping in this and I should know better. If there was any defence at all it would be that the 1-0 liability was small and contained. I would not have liked a £13.43 loss but I could have lived with it.

Deutschland über alles (literally, "Germany above all"),

Germany may have been too good for Greece last night but uber alles?....not yet. They still have Spain, France, Portugal, Italy and the mighty England to contend with. On last night's showing it could well be Germany but I wouldn't like to bet on any one of them to win (or lose) at this stage. Better to apply ASP and be assured of profit on nearly every match.

Page 6: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

Last night's game had Germany as overwhelming favourites with laying 0-0 at 12 and AU 5.4. I was happy to join the battle as the AU was very cheap and an early goal rush just doesn't happen at this level of football. I duly layed 0-0 with small stakes and watched as the game unfolded.

Sure enough the goals came but they came with plenty of time to steadily back out of the AU liability. Green figures of £10.18 or £8.44 were soon available so I really enjoyed the rest of the game even though Germany got greedy and scored a fourth reducing my profit to £8.44.

Beware the Ides of... 0-0 - OK, nowt to do wit Shakespeare really...

Czech Republic v Portugal

Oh dear, oh dear.

Page 7: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

Yet another nil nil at half time, not that the Euro’s have been producing too many of them . Our system demands that it's safety first and half time is the correct time to do something to mitigate against the match finishing nil nil. Now I know that I do not always do this but I have some significant experience with this system and have, shall we say, learned my trade and I make a significant additional retirement income from this as a result. You too can look forward to that if you do not rush at it.

We all know that one hundred percent of matches that finish 0-0 are always 0-0 at half time! So far in Euro 2012 we haven't had a 0-0, which is quite stunning really, but I'm pretty sure it is going to happen so at half time last night, believing this might finally be the one that I have been expecting, I took steps by backing 0-0, and then backing it again at 70 minutes when the odds to back 0-0 were down to 2.08.

This gave me a green figure of 18p for 0-0 or 29p if a goal should be scored. You guessed it Ronaldo (who else?) scored in the 80th minute and the scoreless match is still waiting to happen.

Some may criticise the extreme safety of ASP but I stand by it because I know that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Protecting ourselves against 0-0 and AU is paramount and big losses can always be prevented in all but the most extreme and rare circumstances even though we sometimes miss out on the late goals and the profit they would bring. I guess no-one is going to get excited about making 29 pence but that sure beats the hell out of a loss!

With the shortage of "proper" soccer these last few days I decided yesterday to resume using ASP on some more obscure matches and it was good to get back in the saddle with a profit of £17.63.

England v Ukraine.

There was another of those goals that never was when Ukraine were cruelly denied a goal which would have levelled the score and possibly (who knows) led to a win for them. That said, it makes such a nice

Page 8: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

change for England to get a break going their way (I wonder how much we had to pay that goal-line official to not see what the rest of the planet managed to see on TV?).

It made little or no difference to me because by that time I was out of the game. Once again Messrs Sod and Murphy were in attendance as I made the game partially safe by reducing my profit by guarding against 0-0 at about half time. Ironically Rooney's winner came just after that, at precisely 48 minutes. I am still expecting a 0-0 and with England only needing a draw last night I felt that 0-0 was a strong possibility but that didn't prevent me from backing AU for 24p at odds of 200 just in case England scored a couple of quick goals. It's always a little annoying when you have blown a chunk of your profit on securing against an actual 0-0 result but it's easier to deal with a large part of it sooner, rather than later and in the end we make up for it on the better early goal games in spades.

Sweden v France

Nil nil at half time gave me the impression that quite possibly there would be no goals in either match so I withdrew quietly from this match at half time for a small profit. Sure enough a goal came in the 54th minute. Thank you Mr Sod and Mr Murphy! In reality at no time in either match was AU threatened and I was never put in a position where, with a little more work around the lower score end, I couldn't get completely out of trouble had there been no goals.

Geoff

19th June 2012

The two matches yesterday looked like poor fare for the ASP. Spain and Italy were overwhelming favourites to beat Croatia and Ireland respectively. However I was not put off too much by the high lay 0-0 odds as I like to get involved when the lay AU is such a bargain. Experience shows that the AU liability can be protected as it invariably takes well into the second half before reducing that liability is necessary.

Page 9: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

As your experience grows more and more games become a possibility once you've mastered the basics.

Protecting AU with ease proved to be the case in both matches as Italy managed to score the only goal in the first half (35 minutes). Incredibly my imminent 0-0 draw which I predicted was a real worry when neither Spain nor Croatia produced a goal until the 88th minute. I started to get out of my 0-0 liability in the Spain v Croatia match at half time and even made it "safe" for a small loss with about 12 minutes to go. Dammit, Spain scored in the 88th minute and I felt obliged to lay 0-1 at odds of 1.15 in the hope of another last minute goal so that I could get a green win of about £1.50 instead of a loss of £1.14. This last minute exercise only cost 30p in additional liabilities but it proved unsuccessful (but still well worth doing!).

The Italy v Ireland game was quite straightforward but I showed a little degree of cowardice by getting out at half time with no possible loss and profit potential of exactly £4.

So, a very small profit across the two games but that 0-0 surprise nearly came about and I still remain astounded that we haven't had a 0-0 yet.

COME ON ENGLAND!

Geoff

18th June 2012

If ever there were two matches being played simultaneously where all four teams were so desperate to score, well, this was it. Any of the four teams involved faced the possibility of falling at the Euro 2012 group hurdle still when they went out on the pitch last night. At the 1-1 stage, with both matches at 1-1, it was literally possible for any of the 4 to still go home, even Germany.

Page 10: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

It was with that in mind that last night I was more than happy to lay 1-1 in both matches in the firm belief that the attacking football and the need would produce goals. And that's exactly what happened in both matches giving me a profit of £22.65.

I look forward to tonight's matches where much can happen but we are still awaiting a 0-0 result. Soon perhaps? It's bound to happen!

I just love the uncertainty but at the same time I know ASP has the built-in safety factor so.....BRING IT ON!

Geoff

17th June 2012

I have been away for the weekend and struggled to get in front of the computer at key times. I'm most displeased that the current matches are just that....concurrent. I don't like matches taking place at the same time but hey-ho, it's great football and an intriguing knock-out system.

I managed to cover all four matches with mixed results. The Sweden v England match was great and I confess to holding on at the end fearing that rarest of freaks...an England fourth goal. Well they came close but as with many teams scoring three they rarely (I guess less than 5%) go on to score a fourth. And so it was I won my tenner.

Contrast that with The Ukraine v France and the Czech Republic v Poland games where I chickened out just a little too early. In the Czech game I made it safe 30 seconds before the only goal was scored!

Page 11: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

We are still waiting for a 0-0. Fortunately we in the ASP club don't fear it as we will get out at about half-time if we want to exercise caution. Well you will, won't you?

Geoff

15th June 2012

I write this feeling rather smug. I have been watching Spain v Northern Ireland and there is still half an hour to go and I have gone green The smugness comes from the fact that I only got on the match a quarter of an hour ago just before the start of the second half. The odds on AU, the match odds and the over/under 2.5 markets all indicated a complete mismatch so I felt I should abide by the rules and not get involved.

However at half time the Spaniards were only 1 nil up but looked guaranteed to swamp NI in the second half. By then the AU odds were not attractive enough to jump in there and I decided that Ireland would not score so laying 1-1 whilst laying 1-0 made sense. Twelve minutes or so later Spain scored and I was green on £8.01. Not pure ASP I admit but I felt that the ASP principles could be used

Page 12: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

at the half time stage of this match. Spain had just scored again so had I layed AU there would now be a serious liability

In the earlier match, Italy v Croatia it was pure ASP (and nothing to feel smug about). It was the typical lay AU, lay 0-0 after 15 minutes and get out after the first goal at half time. Easy peasy and just how we like it.

PS Spain v Republic of Ireland final score 4-0. Who's a smart arse then?

Geoff

14th June 2012

Denmark v Portugal became an easy game for asp. I layed AU before the kick off and waited the usual 15 minutes before laying 0-0. Those 15-20 minutes gives enough time to get a fair idea whether there are to be goals sooner or later and time for the odds to become more favourable providing, of course, you are watching the game. I Don't always, but if you like football, it's no hardship to watch the Euro 2012 championships after all.

My patience was rewarded with a goal for Portugal (the strong favourites) at 24 minutes. There was no reward for my next patient wait as Portugal scored again at 36 minutes. At 0-2 there is no cause for great alarm but with so much time left in the match another goal is a probability and this is the time to start protecting the AU liability. Laying 0-2 at odds of 8 was quite expensive but danger levels would only be reached about half way through the second half.

When Denmark made it 1-2 just before half-time I could back AU and guarantee my profit with ease. Final score 2-3.

Page 13: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

I have to confess to suffering a bit of squeaky bum time in the Netherlands Germany match. Having just mentioned what a bonus it is to be able to watch the match live on TV here was an example of why it can be so helpful.

In this game after laying 0-0 and then 0-1 and then the second German goal coming, I had a nice profit on everything but AU with a sizeable exposure there. It took £10 to knock out the AU liability, and by laying 0-2 at the same time for the same amount the only liability switched to the present score of 0-2.

With three-quarters of the game still to go I felt justified in this especially because of a) the time factor and b) the Netherlands had to get back in the match or concede goals in an effort to do so. Although I had to wait until the 73rd minute, sure enough the goal came and I had my green screen.

If that goal had not been scored then I would have backed 0-2 some to take a small (but very irritating) loss. I feel that overall, it was the right thing to do. Final score 1-2. Screen shot of that game below.

Geoff

13th June 2012

There was a potentially nightmarish start to the game between Greece and the Czech Republic last night when Greece went 2 down in only 6 minutes. I didn't have time to lay 0-0 or even 0-1 but, feeling fairly sure that it was unlikely for more goals to be scored quickly, I waited for the game to settle down before laying 0-2. Sure enough it took until the 53rd minute before the next goal was scored by which time I had layed and backed out of 0-2 again. I was convinced really that the Greeks

Page 14: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

would get a goal back rather than the Czechs going to 0-3 and what I should have done, when backing 0-2 is only backed to the point where 1-2 was at £0 profit/£0 loss.

This effectively means that I should have backed it for no more than the £14 that I layed AU and 0-2 for in total but I ended up backing 0-2 for £20 thus creating a £6 loss on 1-2 at that stage. Now of course I could be saying (all smugly) here that I did that because I thought that 0-3 was the next probable score-line but I always give this to you warts and all and the reality is that I should have come out of this game with, at worst, no loss or at best with a profit as I know some smug gentleman did (see John's input below).

I then had to back 1-2 when that was the score-line to avoid a loss here a little later.

In the end with 10 minutes to go and counting down, I decided to lay 1-2 some more to create a small loss across all score-lines. These lays were at very low prices as an alternative to backing AU which now seemed less and less likely. I lost £2.99 in the end, my first loss in this tournament, but I was happy with the result knowing that in spite of the two quick goals there was a statistical probability that there would only be 2.5 goals in the match and that over 90% of games do not have a team scoring 4 or more. It worked for me last night and I hope, if you were on it, you didn't panic. Here is the screen shot of the lays and backing bets in that match.

The second game was very straightforward with the first goal coming at 37 minutes. I even put £0.75 on to back AU at 112 to be ultra-cautious, but guaranteed a £6.29 return. Below this screen shot you get the double benefit of John's action during the Greece v Czech Republic game.

From John

I found myself completely unsurprised by the first quick goal from the Czech Republic because, after all, the Greeks did much the same thing against Poland in their opening game and completely fell asleep at the start. In the first game, instead of conceding two quick goals they conceded a goal and a player to a red card.

Page 15: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

So why then would a quick goal from Czech Republic phase me? We had seen one team so far score 4 (Russia) but that was against this very Czech side that had taken advantage of the Greek's sleepiness.

So when the second goal went in, rather than panic, I thought about it logically, remembered how Greece fought back and nearly won against Poland with only 10 men and also remembered that I had fancied the Greeks to beat the Czech Republic anyway.

That proved to be optimistic of course but they did come back to 1-2 in the end. As can be seen from my screen shot record below, I didn't see any sense in doing any more than a small lay on 0-2 to boost the pot some and, if I had needed to then, much later in the game, I would have backed 0-2. As it happened the goal came at 53 minutes to make it 1-2 and we still had odds of around 5 dropping towards 4 on 0-2 at that time.

The way I see it, the longer 0-2 went on, the less likely AU became so I made a point of deciding that I would back 0-2 again but only if we hit odds of 3.6 to 4. I'd layed 0-2 for only £5 at 10.5 so I didn't have a massive exposure compared to my AU liability and I had also managed a small £2 lay on 0-0 to boost the pot a tiny bit. In the end, for peace of mind, I backed AU out of trouble at odds of 13 once the score-line went to 1-2. And there was plenty of time left in the game even then.

What would I have done if the Czech's had gone to 0-3 and there was a lot of game left? I would have layed hard on 0-3 and 1-3 to bring my exposure down to the lowest point I could with the emphasis on the existing score being the smallest liability.

End result for me was a comfortable £5.51 profit and there was never any need to panic. If you take a long-term view with this, you will build profit and once you are playing from profit, it doesn't hurt when you lose on some games.

12th June 2012

The two matches on Day 3 were rather bland games for ASP. England scored first and the frightening but unreasonable possibility of France scoring 4 became remote. It never crossed my pessimistic mind that Hodgson's Heroes would score another three but I was happy to exit when France equalised and I could go green on £5.71

Ukraine v Sweden was entertaining and quite straightforward for ASP even though I was only 2 seconds late when attempting to lay 1-1 trying to milk a better profit of £4.24 which came my way.

I wish England continued success but from the ASP point of view there will always be hundreds of matches to come, all like the England game, namely, thousands of opportunities to rake in small but

Page 16: RIGHTBUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS

assured profits. This system can be used on any football, anywhere, at any time of the year so once you master it you have an additional source of income for life.

Geoff

11th June 2012

Five o'clock this evening we get to see Hodgson's Heroes (or will it be Hodgson's Hopeless) take on France. It may attract huge attention here in the UK but from the ASP aspect it's just another game where we should be able to pick up a reasonable return without serious risk.

I've just looked at the early odds and the only downside is the high lay AU at 26. Expensive? Yes, but by and large there aren't many goals at this level and I can't see the strong England defence letting in 4 or more even without Rio. At the same time I can't see England banging in four. Even if we go one down early on we can always guard against the AU so I feel justified in risking lots in AU and getting the bargain price of about 5 (after 15 minutes) on laying 0-0.

Yesterday saw a nice return of £10.10 when Spain drew with Italy 1-1 and just £2.40 when Ireland were robbed against Croatia.

Geoff

10th June 2012

Netherlands going down to Denmark was not good for me yesterday even though it was a text book ASP game. I convinced myself that it would not stay at 0-1 after the 23rd minute goal and so when Denmark, the outsiders, took the lead and a healthy profit looked assured, I layed 0-1 completely convinced that the fire power of the Dutch would come back. But by the 75th minute the score-line was still the same and I decided to take a guaranteed profit of £2.34 by reversing that lay. It was a good move as 0-1 was the final score. I could have made 3 or 4 times that amount by just leaving things as they were and letting my AU liability run and at any time in the second half, if I had felt nervous, I could have backed AU again.

Germany v Portugal was another disappointment in that the only goal of the match came soon after the system's safety factor clicked in when I backed 0-0 with just 20 minutes to go to use up almost all of the middle profit. The goal was scored 2 minutes later. So I made a miserable £0.34 profit.

However, I did maintain the 100% record for the tournament so far proving yet again that the system is safe and there are rarely situations that you can't deal with, even when you hang on at 0-0 longer than you should. I should have come out of the 0-0 liability of course with time to spare in the first half but a goal always seemed on the cards here. Hanging on is fine but you must act at that point when the o-0 odds in this situation tell you its get out time or you are going to lose.

Enjoy the rest of the tournament.

Although both Euro 2012 games yesterday were thoroughly entertaining I was disappointed from an ASP point of view. The first game was a run-of-the-mill affair, but good for ASP and my low stakes returned £8.09.

Sadly, against the odds, Russia banged in four and as I had been too late to lay 0-0 and then 1-0 I had to concentrate on AU. Net result, only £0.24 up. This was another example of the opportunity offered by ASP to get out of trouble should trouble occur.

So I'm off with a hundred percent record and looking forward to two more exciting matches.

Incidentally you may notice that I got involved with Japan v Jordan yesterday. The score reached 4-0 after only 35 minutes and the hapless Jordanians were down to 10 men. I had lost £8.25 at that stage but I felt sure that a cricket score was on the cards. The Next Goal market gave me the opportunity to lay 4-0, expensive admittedly and not really pure ASP but I thought the gamble to be justified. Sure enough a fifth goal was scored at 53 minutes but I resisted the temptation to do it again (pity because there was a sixth goal!). Profit £0.31. Had there been no second half goals then I could have settled for an uncomfortable loss at about 80 minutes (so not a strategy to be taken lightly), but the circumstances screamed out that there would be more goals and sometimes you have to go with your gut.

Do please bear in mind that, strictly speaking, with Japan being very sharply odds on to win comfortably, this was never an ASP game to begin with. I just love to stretch myself sometimes and you can do the same once you've learned the system thoroughly. Images below.

John has persuaded me to come out of retirement, for a short time anyway, to let you know how I have been getting on with ASP and also to let me share my experience with the upcoming Euros.

I have continued to use the asp and have faithfully recorded all the results. There have been many social activities which have interfered with my betting over the last few months but I succeeded in putting at least one bet on almost every day.

The choice of suitable football matches is somewhat limited at present so roll on Friday and I will endeavour to follow every qualifying (for asp) match and let you know how I get on.
