With a typewriter, 6 pencils, 3 erasers, 2 bottles of Wite-Out, and a photo of Edgar Allan Poe,
A young poet propped a skull, hand of bones, 2 roses, and eerie sheet music to help visions flow.
Aiding the creative process, a fictitious murder weapon and broken watch were added to the scene,
Plus 6 candlesticks, 2 garlic bulbs, and a cross were placed by the old writing machine. Just as the young Poe wannabe sat down to write a chilling story of dreadfulness,
Lightning struck, the electric went out, and heat stopped blowing from the furnace. Wrapped in a shawl, the poet repeatedly lit the candles as their flames repeatedly died,
Striking countless sticks of fire from 3 boxes of matches and draining 2 lighters bone dry. 4 spiders dropped from the ceiling, gusty winds swept a black feather beneath
the chamber door. Rattled by a clap of thunder, a cup and saucer, 4 teabags, honey, and a lemon fell to the floor.
The doorknob mysteriously turned with a screech, the key turned in the lock as well, And the young poet decided right then it was time to switch genres, pack up, and bail!

Alaska Cruise August 2015
Michelle, Activity Director, enjoyed touring Alaska with her family and seeing all the beautiful sights & animals. In Ketchikan, we saw bald eagles (left), black bears (right) and shopped on Creek Street (middle).

We travelled on the White Pass Scenic Railway (left) from Skagway into British Columbia. On the way back via the Klondike Highway, we stopped at Liarsville (middle) and panned for gold. At Glacier Bay, Lampluhg Glacier was one of many glaciers we saw. (right).
Hello Ridgecrest Family and Friends,
It has come to my attention that I have not formally introduced myself to you. My name is Joshua Wagoner and I am the new Executive Director here at Ridgecrest. Though I am new to this community, I transferred from our sister community, Carlton Shores, within the Greystone Health Network. I have been with Greystone for three years and I am extremely honored to be the Executive Director here at Ridgecrest.
I started my career in healthcare over 13 years ago as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and have worked my way up through the ranks. I have worked in all aspects of healthcare, including the hospital, rehabilitation hospital, assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice.
I look forward to working with all the associates, families, and guests of Ridgecrest as we begin this new journey together. My door is always open to all. I look forward to helping make Ridgecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center the best community in DeLand and all of Florida!
