At first glance, the new R 1200 GStoo is a genuine GS: robust,dynamic, and full of character.Virtually all surfaces were revised,and all materials provided with abetter finish. The two-cylinderopposed twin engine mergesharmoniously into the unmistakableGS flyline. The bike features a newengine featuring water-cooledtechnology, new wet clutch withanti-hopping feature and completenew electronic system

A new feature for the R 1200 GS isthe water-cooled boxerengine. With its 125 hp (92 kW) and125 Nm torque, the two-cylinderopposed twin engine promisespower in every situation. Based ona new concept of combined air andliquid cooling and vertical flowsthrough the cylinders, the engineoperates efficiently, reliably, andwith high torques at all times.Further improvements like the newwet clutch with anti-hopping featureand the electromotive throttleactuator E-Gas make the opposedtwin engine the perfect drivesolution at the heart of the new R1200 GS.

The field potential of the new R1200 GS was further expandedwith a new, more rigid main frameand suspension elements mountedon a stiffer bearing. Also improvedwere the Paralever and Teleleverfor perceptibly better GS riding

precision. The more sensitiveresponse now gives the rider muchgreater feedback on uneven roads.

The standard model here in the UKcomes complete with ABS,handguards and pannierfastenings. A range of optionalextras are also available includingcruise control, Enduro ElectronicSuspension Adjustment (ESA),Heated Handlebar grips andAutomatic stability control (ASC).
