RIDER Main Features

RIDER Tester is the most complete, scaleable and flexible test platform for Class-1 Generation-2 UHF RFID Protocolfor Communications at 860-960 MHz.

It performs the Gen-2 testing requirements for physical interactions (the signalling layer of the communications) betweenInterrogators and Tags by means of the RF Tester.

RIDER also tests the Gen-2 requirements for Interrogator and Tag operating procedures and commands by meansof the Protocol Tester.

RIDER Tester is the perfect solution to verify and pre-test, prior to submittal for EPCglobal Certification Testing, anyGen-2 RFID Hardware.

This automated testing is complemented and enhanced with processes which speed up the qualification (automatedchecking of table contents, information about dates and test case categories, test case mapping table generation,powerful filtering tools, graphical information and automated reporting). All this is controlled by a highly intuitiveuser interface in a Windows environment which permits the compatibility with standard Microsoft applications(Word,Excel, etc.).

RIDER Protocol Tester is built around the AT4 wireless Signalling Unit. This advanced device support all the requirementsfor EPC Gen2 Tags Protocol testing and it provides the RIDER with the following features:

Ability to emulate an EPC Gen2 Interrogator behaviour for testing purposes. Generation of Interrogator's commands to 'talk' with the Tag under test. Reception and demodulation of Tag responses. Turnaround tag data within microseconds.

RIDER is the 1st Test System for EPCglobalGen-2 UHF RFID Interrogators and Tags

RIDER Tester architecture has been designed as an open testing platform that can be upgraded to support existingand future RFID standards, test cases and frequency bands, making it an ideal and future-proof solution that canbe developed with customer’s testing needs.

RIDER Tester also includes best-in-class general purpose instruments from Tektronix and Agilent Technologies.

The Tektronix Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer (RSA) performs the corefunctionality of the system. By mean of its real-time analysis features amongothers, the system is able to capture the entire trace of interest and makethe measurements in the frequency and time domains.

For some test cases, jointly with the RIDER’s Signalling Unit, the AgilentSignal Generator sends specific commands and responses to the EquipmentUnder Test. Its ability to store different predefined baseband signals, previouslydownloaded to it, and to modulate and up-convert them to the right frequencywith the desired power levels, makes the Agilent Signal Generator the bestchoice for this purpose.
