Moreover, the aftermath of the colonization of Spanish, Americans and Japanese people give barricades to the authentic Filipino education. However, these happenings also give the chance to adapt variety of cultures that education is one of it. PRAYER OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS

Page 8: Reynald Portfolio

I want to teach my students how

To live this life on Earth,

To face its struggles and strife

And to improve their worth.

Not just the lesson in a book,

Or how the rivers flow

But to choose the proper path

Wherever they may go.

To understand eternal truth

And know right from wrong

And gather all the beauty of

A flower and a song.

For if I help the world to grow

In wisdom and grace,

Then I feel that I have won

And I have filled my place.

And so I ask your guidance, God

That I may do my part

For character and confidence

And happiness of heart.

The Teacher’s Creed

I am a teacher. I accept the challenge to be

PERSONAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY

‘Education is an unending process, until self-actualization comes’

Page 10: Reynald Portfolio

The philosophical overview of the aforesaid personal education philosophy entails a great deal of loads about the learning of every individual. This has been a deal since the beginning of the world. Education however, will not be ended unless there is such thing as self-actualization. According to great philosopher Abraham H. Maslow, Self-actualization is a term that has been used in various psychology theories, often in slightly different ways. The term was originally introduced by the organismic theorist Kurt Goldstein for the motive to realize one's full potential.

Expressing one's creativity, quest for spiritual enlightenment, pursuit of knowledge, and the desire to give to society are examples of self-actualization. In Goldstein's view, it is the organism's master motive, the only real motive: "the tendency to actualize itself as fully as possible is the basic drive, the drive of self-actualization.

The adaptation of Abraham’s Law of Hierarchy of needs embodies the personal education philosophy of the author. The author wants to express the essential steps prior to the said self-actualization. The physiological needs of the human being up to the so called self-actualization. The processes of which engage the real identification of the achievement of it. That is why, through education it will be of great help achieving a holistic self-identity.

PERSONAL INSIGHTS ON THE PRE-SERVICE TRAINING EXPERIENCE

Page 20: Reynald Portfolio

Pre-teaching service helps the future teachers to be able to see the reality of real teaching. This is however, the initial step or a preparation to the teaching profession in which this opens the authentic side of teaching. This employs the participation of different established institutions in which they collaboratively work together to provide opportunities to the practice student teachers to explore more of the course they have chosen. With the help of different people used in implementing the said pre-service training specifically for teachers, this brings a stronger bond to the teacher-student teacher- student relationship.

The president of the university in coordination of the division superintendents of different cities around the country work strongly to be able to approve every student teacher to conduct in different schools. The pre-service training specifically for teachers however establishes a gradual development of the practice teachers to achieve the embodiment of a real teacher.

More often than not, the pre-teaching service gives enlightenment to the realm of teaching. It involves actual teaching of the student teachers handling in the approximation of 50-60 students per section. The discretion of the department head as well as the critic teacher determines the number of sections to be handled by the student teacher.

The pre-teaching service increases the experience gained by the practice teachers handling different scenarios inside the classroom such as the behavior of the students, preparing lesson planning, making visual aids, teaching methodologies, giving test examinations, providing relevant activities and etc. With the aforesaid scenarios, this will be a big realization to the practice teachers on how the real classroom management and discussion take place.

The duties and responsibilities of the practice teachers are somewhat the same to the duties of the real teacher. This is because it is imperative for the practice teachers to employ the necessary do’s and don’ts in accordance of the code of conduct for teachers. In a simple manner, pre-teaching service gives chances on how the actual fields works as a whole In many different possibilities.
