There has been a whole range of technical innovations over the last years and the last decades in the area of audio/hi-fi that have impacted on miniaturisation, networking and the growth in functionality. Devices have become smaller and more versatile and have set new standards in mobility and availability that affect all areas of our lives. Voxnet is an Ethernet-based Multiuser/Multiroom system that makes it possible to experience music in the best CD quality and fully synchronised in several rooms at the same time. The operating concept is unique and patented. Each user expe-riences their own music, whenever and wherever they happen to be in the house. The number of the required Voxnet products is scalable: A Voxnet Server, running the various Voxnet services, is the centre of the Multiuser System. Each room requires one Voxnet 219 amplifier, which, once configured, is able to adopt numerous functions in the system autonomously.

This contributes not only to a high performance but also to a high operational reliability, since many functions are duplicated within the system offering redundancy. The Voxnet amplifier can be fitted with a Voxnet I/O module if additional sources need to be integrated into the Voxnet system. And last but not least, the Voxnet 218 wall control unit offers easy and intuitive operation in the design of the brands Gira or Feller.

This is how the future sounds.

The Voxnet server At the heart of the Voxnet Multiuser System is the Voxnet server. It makes a whole range of services available to the user. At the same time, it demonstrates its simple and intuitive operating concept that makes it easy to get to grips with all the products from the Revox world as well as products from third-party suppliers. The server runs as software on a Linux computer. We carried out extensive testing in this respect and in the end, we decided on the Synology NAS drive as our platform of choice. With their high level of reliability, optimum performance and very flexible structure, Synology products make it possible to customise the system to meet users' requirements in the best possible way.

The Voxnet server takes care of all the services that are required to achieve reliable and comfortable operation. This includes the Voxnet Internet radio service with fixed, user-related radio stations and the administration of the Voxnet triggers. These are event-dependent inputs, which, when activated, can transmit a single command or a sequence of commands as part of the comprehensive control structure of the Voxnet system. Further important roles are played by the Voxnet action service and the Voxnet menu service. They facilitate integration with modern building management applications and the creation of external GUIs.

One of the highlights within the range of Voxnet services is the IP proxy service. This makes it possible to integrate and control third-party products within the Revox world. That could be a television, Apple TV or a Blu-ray player. Always with the guiding principle that one press of a button in the Voxnet world should create an experience. Simple, intuitive, sustainable.

The Voxnet amplifierEach room in the system needs its own Voxnet amplifier that is connected to the Voxnet server over a high-quality Ethernet network. The Voxnet amplifier has an impressive 2 x 50 watt RMS making it powerful enough for most rooms.

Unlimited possibilitiesThe outstanding output works perfectly together with practi-cally any speaker. Revox uses the integrated digital signal processor for its own speakers, in order to extract the best possible result from the combination of a Revox amplifier and Revox speakers.

Using a trigger input, an event can be started as a result of external influences. In the bathroom for example, a signal from a motion detector to indicate that someone is in the room can cause the light to be turned on automatically and the music to start playing.

Based on defined states of the Voxnet amplifier, an additional trigger output can generate a control voltage. This could be used for example, to open up a screen for a home cinema system or to activate a TV lift. The amplifier also offers options for connecting a Voxnet wall-mounted control unit, which as a concept, has proved itself for more than 30 years in the Revox world. Just a single press of a button and your favourite music starts to play, without having to search through your Smart-phone for the right App and the right music.

For the love of pure sound.

When it comes to audio quality, the Revox engineers don't know the meaning of the word compromise. With the integrated digital signal processor, the Voxnet amplifier output, which itself is already outstanding, offers further fascinating possibi-lities. Frequency responses are stored for all Revox speakers that tease out every last nuance from your Revox system. And if you want even more, you can inform the amplifier of the position of the speakers so that the bass properties can be adjusted to best fit the way you have located them.

If your room should pose particular acoustic challenges, such as large areas of glass or an acoustic ceiling, your Revox specialist dealer can adjust the amplifier/speaker combination to achieve the best possible results. It goes without saying that high-definition audio formats can be processed in a Voxnet system. Experiencing a piece of music in studio master quality, exactly as the sound engineer and the musicians intended, is truly something very special.

The Voxnet I/O module The Voxnet amplifier has a module slot, in order to offer additional functions depending on the user requirements. The Voxnet I/O module acts as an interface for many traditional audio products. Whether it is a television, a CD player or even Apple TV, you can connect almost all sources to a Voxnet amplifier.

Each I/O module has three audio inputs: one analogue input, one digital-coax and one digital-optical input. The sensitivity level of all three inputs is such that when an audio signal is detected, the amplifier switches automatically to the corre-sponding audio input. This results in a high level of operator comfort and offers the maximum flexibility when selecting which source is to be played. Additionally, the module has an audio output that can be set to match your requirements within the Voxnet server. It can be configured as a traditional preamp output, as a Line Out or as an output for a subwoofer.

And of course, Revox also offers an intuitive and com-prehensive App for Voxnet. But is an App always the best and more importantly, the simplest way to operate an audio sys-tem? Just to be able to walk into a room and listen to your music with a single press of a button has an irresistible appeal, even in this era of the ubiquitous touchscreen.

And for this reason, even with the Voxnet system, Revox has again gone with the option of the press of a button on the wall-mounted panel, as it did 30 years ago when the Revox Multiroom system first saw the light of day.

In today's Voxnet world, you can also label and program each wall unit button individually, making it possible to customise the Voxnet system to your personal requirements and desires. Simply put, good things survive down the generations, simply because they are good.

Voxnet – One touch and a thousand possibilities.

The easy and intuitive one-button-operation of the Voxnet Multiuser System via the wall control unit is what makes Voxnet unique in the market. Each button can be adapted to your individual needs and labelled with your personal requests. The sensitive amplifier inputs can feed different audio streaming services from your Smartphone or Tablet into the Voxnet world and also control them indirectly.

However, if you prefer to control the Voxnet system from a Voxnet App, Revox has a solution for this as well. Clearly arranged and extremely intuitive, the Voxnet App allows access to the different sources of the Voxnet Multiuser System including the integrated audio services such as Internet Radio or the Music Server. Well-arranged tiles show graphically what you really need.

A clearly structured display of users and rooms informs you of the current status of your Voxnet system at any time. Rooms with a green status icon are those being used and controlled by you. The red icon indicates the room is currently not being used.

With the blue icon, the App shows that the room is applied to another user. The additional information below the room even indicates who is using the room at any given moment.

Of course, the Voxnet App allows rights to be assigned for every user in the home according to sources and rooms. For example, Peter is able to access different rooms to his wife Sarah, and each user sees their favourites on top.

Thanks to the numerous universal triggers in the Voxnet system you can control external devices within a certain functional range. Just select the required source in the App – e.g. TV in the living room – and providing it has been correctly configured Voxnet switches on the TV in the background. It can even automatically switch to your favou-rite channel.

It has never been so easy for music lovers to get their hands on an almost inexhaustible archive of music. Innumerable audio streaming services are offered through the Internet. Different service providers focus on different genres: blues, jazz or rock, with play lists and musical recommendations based on your own usage behaviour, in high-definition audio formats or opti-mised for mobile applications. The offering is almost infinite.

Mastering this huge diversity that is constantly changing as new providers come on line places some big demands on a Multiroom system. Voxnet rises to this challenge by having integrated some of what the future may bring, today. Voxnet amplifiers have a fundamental modularity built in with their module slot. An interface for traditional audio inputs is provided by the Voxnet I/O module. The sensitivity level of these inputs is such that when an audio signal is detected, the amplifier automatically switches to that signal and you can enjoy your music immediately, without having to press any further but-tons. This means that it makes no difference if today you want to listen to a music service that specialises in classical music and tomorrow, you choose to listen to one of your friends' playlists, from another service provider. You just select your music in the corresponding service App and Voxnet starts to play.

And the system has no limitations when it comes to the me-thod used to transmit the music. Whether it's AirPlay, or Blue-tooth, iPhone or Android, Nexus or iPad, Voxnet understands them all. You stay flexible and if tomorrow, the market is turned on its head by the latest trend, Voxnet will still be there, laying out the whole world of music at your feet.

An evening with a blockbuster film or that cup game at the weekend on your home television, but with great sound from high-quality Revox speakers? No problem. But how's that going to work without needing a whole raft of remotes? The Voxnet system is designed so that it identifies immediately when a television starts to run. The Voxnet amplifier then automatically switches over to the right audio input and starts to play. You have to do almost nothing, apart from turn the television on of course.

Alternatively, you can activate the television through the Revox wall-mounted controller. The Voxnet server registers the request that a television should be used in one room and sends the corresponding commands over the Ethernet network. Simple technical routines can also convert these control telegrams into infrared or RS232 commands so that effectively, any television can be integrated. It doesn't matter which make or model of television you prefer or already have.

And if you want to hear the sound on the patio or in the home office, this wish can also of course be fulfilled in the Voxnet world. Just confirm your name through the control unit in the desired area and straight away, you will hear the sound from your television in the best audio quality and per-fectly synchronised with the sound in the room where the television is. So you won't miss a crucial penalty and you can also keep up with the news.

The modular Re:system M100 stereo amplifier and the Re:system M51 multi-channel amplifier have been exciting Revox users around the world for years. The awesome sound, the exuberant power reserves in the outputs of up to 200 watts per channel together with the modular concept, still provide a fascination for every fan of hi-fi. Naturally, these classic Revox products can be completely integrated into the Voxnet Multiuser world. Take advantage of the powerful, outstanding and proven outputs of these two milestones in the history of Revox amplifiers to create the ultimate sound experience in your listening space or in your home cinema.

In addition, you can also use the Re:system M51 sources and feed their signals to the Voxnet amplifier. These sources can then be heard and controlled throughout the complete Voxnet system. And this is what we mean by sustainability in Revox's product development approach. Concepts that were developed over 15 years ago are still valid today and can be expanded in a modular way, going forward.

Fully integrated: Revox M100 and Revox M51.

You own a Revox Multiroom System already? When we at Revox are developing new products, we don't just have an eye on the future. We also strive to integrate earlier products so that our existing customers can benefit from the new products as well. For this reason, practically all Revox Multiroom Systems that have been installed in the last 30 years can, with very little effort and usually without any structural changes, be converted to the latest Multiuser/Multiroom system on the market. In this way, numerous new functions can also be used with the earlier components of the Revox Multiroom world.

As great and as versatile as Internet radio and audio streaming services are, sometimes it's the simple things, like listening to a traditional audio CD that can give the greatest listening pleasure. You'll not be surprised to know that you only have to insert the CD of your choice in the Joy CD player to start enjoying your favourite sounds. But Revox has thought about intelligent control options as well. Of course you can use your remote. But another option is the wall-mounted unit that can also be used for sending the most important commands to the CD player.

Just insert a CD and unwind.

You can repeat your favourite passage or if there's a track that just doesn't match the mood, you can skip over it. Needless to say, the music from the CD can also accompany you as you move around the house. Just press the button with your name on it wherever you happen to be, and the music will start to play.

True Revox: The sound In spite of the optimised dimensions, the Re:sound I series delivers an amazing sound. The low mid-rangers provide a sound volume with power and clarity in the low frequency range so that in most cases, additional bass speakers are unnecessary. The result is a brilliant, space-filling sound without any visible technology imposing itself on the room. With the Re:sound I inceiling 82 stereo speaker, a high quality stereo sound is possible with just one speaker when space is at a premium. Problem-free and simple installation is guaranteed thanks to the low-profile build-in depth of all I series speakers.

The power of quiet soundsThe right music in the right quality at the right place. Life is good and should be enjoyed to the full. With the Re:sound I outdoor 80 outdoor speakers, your receptive ears will be able to delight to the impressive nuances of even the quietest sounds. They were developed to meet the particular requirements of the great outdoors and provide the ideal sound source for the balcony, patio or garden. As wind and weather cannot affect it, the ODS is ideally suited for longterm deployment outside. The wall-mounting bracketmakes for very simple and flexible installation. Both horizontal and vertical. The speaker can be swivelled or tilted within the bracket any way you want.

The inside values of our outside speaker also sound really good. The 2-way speaker is equipped with a powerful 130 mm low mid-ranger as well as a 21 mm tweeter calotte. Even outdoors, they deliver powerful and authentic sound reproduction. Additionally, you have the option to equip the ODS with the IR receiver. This makes it possible to control your Revox system from outdoors by IR remote control. Ideally, the corresponding wall-mounted control panel shouldbe located in the house in order to protect it against the elements or against any unwelcome attention.
