REVISION: A4-1: SECTION 4 – SCOPE OF WORK TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS SECTION 02070 – Demolition, Item 1.1.E.1 The referenced clause is to be replaced in its entirety with the following: 1. The breeching duct is constructed of steel and is lined with 115 mm light weight castable refractory, an insulating board and loosely packed glass fiber insulation. The demolition must be completed in limited space and includes rerouting of cables, pipes and other equipment. Reference drawing A-23511 (enclosed) shows the original installation of the breeching duct and the roof support design loading schedule. Note that the duct was extended to the south in 1987. A4-2: SECTION 15200 – Process Piping Systems, Item 2.3.E.3 The referenced clause is to be replaced in its entirety with the following: 3. The safety relief valve shall be set for 862 kPa (125 psig) and shall pass full flow (425 Nm 3 /hr or 250 scfm) to maintain the pressure below 948 kPa (137.5 psig) A4-3: SECTION 15200 – Process Piping Systems, Item 2.3.F Add the following to the referenced clause: F. …and a maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) of at least 1034 kPa (150 psig).

Questions and Answers Q1. Please provide drawings & specs for existing ID Fans to be inspected. A1. The original fan was supplied in the 1976 by Sheldons Engineering Limited of Cambridge, Ontario

(refer to Drawing C-18581-3). Contact info: Sheldons Engineering Inc. 6660 Ordan Drive Mississauga, Ontario Canada L5T 1J7 1-800-265-3572 In the 1987, the fan was overhauled by Novenco Canada Inc. of Cambridge, Ontario (refer to Drawing ND-11478). Novenco was later purchased by Howden.

During the preparation of this contract, we contacted Howden North America to inquire if they had service personnel who could perform a portion of the inspection work associated with the fans. Q2. Please provide CFM and pressure ratings for safety valves on air receiver tanks. A2. Please refer to A4-2 and A4-3 above Q3. Please provide drawings of existing stacks and ducting, including flange drawings, and weight of

existing stack. A3. Drawings from the original bypass stack installation (Drawings 5600-10 and 5600-11) are enclosed.

The as-built condition of the stacks may differ. It is our understanding that the existing stacks were constructed of 3/16” thick 316L SS. Contractor to verify on site.

Q4. Please advise if existing stacks have refractory inside, if so, what type. A4. The existing stub stack is not refractory lined. Q6. Please provide name and contact information of ID fan manufacturer for inspection requirements. A6. The names and contact information for the ID fan manufacturers are noted above in Q1. The

inspection requirements are noted in the specifications (Section 13425).
