• Why do we need to follow a schedule?
• Give 3 reasons we need to make and follow a schedule.
3-step strategy you can employ to make good use of study time:
• Prepare a term calendar.
• Prepare a weekly planner.
• Prepare a daily planner.
• When should you prepare each plan?
Term calendar will remind you when you need to start and finish important school
and out-of-school activities.• Ask your teachers for
a list of assignments and due dates.
• Get a list of school activities you are to be involved in.
• Make a list of out-of-school activities (club meetings, family trips, etc.)
A weekly planner shows in detail what you
are planning to do during a school week.• Each Sunday evening:• Review your term
calendar to enter in what you plan to do during the week.
• Review notes from your classes to see if you need to add information to your planner.
• Add out-of-school activities.
What can interfere with planned schedules?
• Life is impossible to predict and we should expect the unexpected.
• Write 3 things that have interfered in your schedule in the past.
Reflecting on time to study.
• Analyze your current homework load.
• What is working and what is not?
• What are your short-term goals?
• What are your long-term goals?
