Satan – his activities and power:
• Satan wants to accuse us in front of God
• Satan is a murderer and the Father of lies
• Satan confuses the minds of men to keep them from God
• Satan is lawless – he works against God’s laws and is able to produce false signs, wonders and miracles
You can’t whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them.
Proverbs 28:13 The Message
Recapitulation –A recapitulation, or "recap," is a summary, review, or restatement. The purpose of a recapitulation is to remind your reader or audience of your main points. There's no new information in a recapitulation, just the same information in a smaller, more condensed form. The prefix re- is a signal that a recapitulation involves repeating something.

A-millennialism – 1,000 years are symbolic
• The entire time between the first Advent – Christ coming to earth and the second Advent – the second coming.
• “One thousand is a symbolic number; it stands for God’s perfect timing”• Perfect mercy – extended time to repent
• Satan bound for a thousand years: figurative language that the devil’s power is curtailed and limited. Satan’s power is curtailed because of the presence of the Incarnate One – Jesus.
Pre- Millennialism – Christ comes before the 1000 year reign
• A time of heaven on earth: Christ is physically present again and the entire world enjoys the benefits of the perfect earthly king.
• Tend to have a negative view of the world, things are really bad and will continue to get worse until Christ comes again.
• The role of the church is to warn people of God’s coming judgment
Historic Pre- Millennialism – the historic teaching of the church fathers.
• Christ second coming will usher in a literal 1,000 year reign on earth after conquering the anti-Christ and Satan –
• The Second coming is 1-event with 2 resurrections – the righteous and the wicked.
• This is the most straightforward reading of the text; required to fulfill various OT prophecies.
Dispensational Pre- Millennialism – • The appearance of the Anti-Christ, the tribulation, the rapture all take place
before Christ coming in victory.
Second coming is 2 events 1. Rapture – in secret2. In Victory – visible.
4 resurrections3. Rapture4. 7 years later the tribulation saints (144,000) at the beginning
of the millennium5. OT & Saints after the millennium6. Final resurrection of the wicked
3 judgments7. Raptured Saints8. The nations9. The wicked at the end of the millennium
Millennium – the thousand year reign of Jesus
Post – Millennialism - Christ comes after the 1,000 year reign
• Tend to a more optimistic view, the gradual, progressive transformation of culture and society in preparation for the return of Christ.
• The role of the church is to live lives of spiritual integrity and social concern effectively binding Satan’s power on earth and allowing God’s kingdom now.
