Matthew 6:19-20Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven ...

3. The Divided Principle – The more we have, the more we worry.

Ecclesiastes 5:12The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.

Matthew 6:31-34 So do not worry... your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteous-ness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”

4. The Depreciation Principle – The more we have, the more we have to lose.

Ecclesiastes 5:13-14I have seen a grievous evil under the sun: wealth hoarded to the harm of its owners, or wealth lost through some misfortune, so that when they have children there is nothing left for them to inherit.

Matthew 6:19-20... where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

5. The Descendent Principle – The more we have, the more we leave behind.

Ecclesiastes 5:14-17... so that when they have children there is nothing left for them to inherit. Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb, and as everyone comes, so they depart. They take nothing from their toil that they can carry in their hands.Proverbs 13:22A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.

6. The Devotion Principle – The more we give, the more we receive.

Proverbs 3:9-10Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Matthew 6:24No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

C. Keep your heart trusting in Jesus Christ.Jeremiah 17:7-8Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river.

Lamentations 3:21-26This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.... His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “ Therefore I hope in Him!” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly.
