What’s Changing?

• Existing group health care coverage for Medicare eligible non-union retirees and dependents ends on December 31, 2011

• You have access to personalized decision support for comparing and enrolling in a robust choice of supplemental Medicare coverage options

• Extend Health provides 1:1 services to help you find and enroll in the coverage that meets your medical and financial needs

U. S. Steel is changing the way it provides access to health care coverage for Medicare eligible non-union retirees and dependents

Page 4: Retiree Choices

4

Why this Approach?

• Private supplemental Medicare insurance market offers access to comprehensive coverage at lower cost than current group plans

• Nearly half of our non-union Medicare population opt out of group coverage to purchase insurance in the private market (or other sources)

• Enables each retiree and dependent to choose coverage that best meets their individual needs

• Retiree participants losing group coverage are not subject to pre-existing conditions restrictions or underwriting during this enrollement period (except for end-stage renal disease)

• Provides access to expert decision support resources so you can make informed health care choices

• Extend Health is the industry leading retiree advocacy service

U. S. Steel is committed to providing access to affordable and quality health care coverage that supplements benefits available through traditional Medicare
