mé and compare your own, then cho
ose the best one out. When you are

in this résumé?

Résumé
1.What is the problem existing in this résumé? This résumé is not in a clear layout, for the items are not arra
nged logically and in a block style. The message of the résumé is not complete, for example, the address is missing in the personal information, and the work experience should be told in detail, including time, company name, and responsibility; while some information seems abundant, such as stature and weight. There are also some chinglish expressions, such as “Birthday: 1988,5,2”, which should be “Date of birth: May 2, 1988”. And the word “capability” is not properly used here.
2. What should be included in a résumé? A résumé should at least included personal information (na
me, address, telephone numbers, date of birth and gender), educational background, work experience, and reference

3. What should be a job application letter’s main points?
First we should analyze what key skills, areas of expertise or
experience the employer will be looking for in the candidate.
Then we evaluate our strengths and interests, put the right
content, which may highlight our unique skills and portray us
at our best. We should also organize our information in a
logical fashion and keep descriptions clear and to the point.
Meanwhile we should pay attention to make the résumé
uniform and consistent, and error-free. As a beginner, a one-
page résumé is enough.

Résumé
1. The definition of a résumé A résumé or C. V. (Curriculum Vitae) is a brief written introduction
to one’s personal details, which is usually sent together with the job application letter, with the purpose to win an interview and get a foot in the potential company.
2. The format of a résumé A résumé basically includes personal information (name, address,
telephone numbers, date of birth and gender), educational background, work experience, and references. But sometimes more items are added to present us in the best light, such as health, current status, citizenship, career objective, awards and honors, scholarships, publications, professional memberships, hobbies, interests, skills and so on.
Neat margins, adequate “white space” between groupings, and indenting to highlight text help to make the résumé eye-catching.

Tips
1.The two candidates choose different items to show themselves.
2. In the first résumé, the name and the address are written like those
on an envelope and at the beginning, which make it most convenient
for the reader to contact the candidate; while the second one
3. In the first résumé, the candidate’s education and experience begins
with the most recent and in detail, while in the second the
information is listed in chronological order and stated briefly.
4. In the second résumé, the reference information is given in details,
which make it easy for the employer to know more about the
candidate directly from the reference.
