• I asked this question to identify the ratio of female and male readers, and also to research what how people’s interests differ depending on gender.

• The results of this question shows that an equal distribution of both genders took the questionnaire and would be interested in the magazine.

• This will help my planning as I will know to target the magazine at both genders.

• This question asks how often people buy music magazines. It will help me decide on the frequency of publication.

• The results of this question show that the majority of my target audience never buy music magazines. It also shows that more people buy monthly music magazines than weekly and that nobody buys fortnightly.

• This will impact my planning as I know that a lot of my target audience doesn’t currently buy a music magazine, so there is a gap in the market for the magazine. It will help me decide between making the magazine monthly or weekly.

• This question asks people to identify what features of a front cover attract them to a magazine. I asked this to find out what the most important features of a front cover are to my target audience.

• The question found that the most popular feature was the artist on the front cover.

• This will impact my planning as I know which features have more impact on my target audience and which features don’t encourage people to buy magazines. I can use the results of this to decide what to include on the front cover.

• I asked this question to find out which magazines are the most popular within my target audience.

• I found that most people read Kerrang more than anything else.

• This impacts my planning as I know that the magazine has to stand out from the others in the genre, and I have found that Kerrang magazine is the magazine’s potential rival in the market.

• I found that the incentive that most people wanted was posters, and the least people wanted free gifts.

• Most people like the artists featured, colour scheme and articles.

• This will impact my planning as I know that a good colour scheme is important so I know to make sure that mine connotes the rock genre and is appealing to look at. I will also research current music magazines to find out the kind of artists and articles they feature, as I know that my target audience enjoy them.
