School Wide Positive Behaviour Support
As you will be aware, our school is continuing to implement School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. We are
making good progress and believe this program will great for our school. Below is some information that might
help you understand what it is all about.
What is School Wide Positive Behaviour Support?
The purpose of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is to establish a school climate in which
appropriate behaviour is the norm for all students. It provides school communities with an effective evidence based
approach to creating positive and engaging school environments.
SWPBS provides educational leaders with a school improvement framework for ensuring that the learning
environment of their school is focused on creating a positive regard and engagement. The framework requires the
establishment of school wide expectations that are developed in collaboration with all school community members.
SWPBS focuses on data and inquiry to drive continuous improvement in the school’s behaviour management
processes and policies.
Please keep an eye out for updates relating to SWPBS over the coming weeks and months.
Congratulations to our Prep Students Our Prep students are now well into their full time schooling. I must congratulate them on a fabulous start to the
year. I enjoy visiting their classrooms and sharing their learning and enthusiasm. It is amazing how quickly they
absorb new learnings and information. I particularly love having them visit my office with work that they are so
proud of that they could burst. Special thanks to our fantastic Prep team and all families for enabling such a great start to the year.
Student Enrolment Information Form These have been emailed to parents today to ensure that the information we have is correct and up to date.
Please check each item on the form. If there is any information that is incorrect please print the form, write updated
information next to each item where necessary and return the signed form to the office. We will then update our
records.
Please remember to provide the school with any updated information as soon as your circumstances change.

relating to ordering your child’s individual and family photos online. The school is not involved in any of the
ordering or money. If you have any difficulties, please contact Leading Image Photography on 1300 084 586.
School Photo Day is on Wednesday 25th March.
Learning Task 2 Released Tomorrow
Learning Task 2 (Term 1) will be released to families tomorrow at 3:15pm. This task is entitled Approaches to
Learning. The Approaches to Learning task is designed to provide families with an insight into how their child has
settled into the school year, from the perspective of the classroom.
What families should see in this Learning Task:
1. A comment from your child’s teacher.
2. A 'goal setting' document, completed by the student. Each student had the opportunity to identify a goal/s
for the year or semester.
3.
Urban Camp
I was lucky enough to go on a mini ‘holiday’, (as I think it was termed by Mr Trezise last week) and attend Urban
Camp with Grade 6. Our students, as always, did an outstanding job representing our school. The program was very
full but everyone powered through, supported each other and made the most of the experiences. Thanks to Peta
Dougal and Kate Edwards for coming along to support the group as parents. Thanks also to all of the staff involved,
in particular, Mr Daenke, who put a power of work into organising this experience for our students.
PE / Sport News Sandhurst Division Swimming Championships We wish Max G, Lachlan M, Maddy T, Reagan W and Mitch M the best of luck as they represent SGPS at the

Fresh Fruit Friday
Every Friday morning, we are able to supply all our students with fruit. If you ever have free time on Friday
mornings after school drop off, to help us chop up and deliver this fruit to the classroom, please come and join
in. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who help with this every week. Your assistance is greatly
appreciated. Fruit preparation takes place in the canteen area. All welcome.
Welcome Picnic Due to the wet weather our Welcome Picnic is being postponed until next Thursday the 12th of March on the
bottom oval, from 5-7pm. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet some new people, catch up with old friends
and come together as a community. Easter We will be again holding our annual Easter Raffle, which will be drawn after the Easter Hat parade on the last day
of school. Raffle tickets will be sent out to families shorty so please keep an eye out for them. We would like to kindly ask families for donations for prizes. A small egg, craft activity, book, basket or bag to
create some wonderful prizes would be greatly appreciated. These can be popped into the box provided in the
office area. This is traditionally one of our most successful fundraising activities for the year, so your support is
