Dear Sir or Madam,It is our pleasure to present to You the results of the National tran-splant program for 2015 and we wish to emphasize the following: Croatian transplant program is still among the world's best The record donor rate of 39,3 donors per million population Increase of the number of organ donors for 13% compared to 2014 Successful transplantation of 399 solid organs in Croatia Increase of the total number of organ transplants by 10% compared
to 2014
All transplant procedures have been successfully implemented in five transplant centers with an experienced, multidisciplinary transplant teams;CH Merkur 188 transplants of abdominal organs UHC Zagreb 147 transplants (kidney, liver, heart)UHC Rijeka 30 kidney transplantsCH Dubrava 14 heart transplantsUHC Osijek 12 kidney transplants
In the implementation of the donor programs, the most successful hospitals in 2015. were University Hospital Center Rijeka (31 organ do-nors), University Hospital Center Sisters of mercy (19 organ donors), University Hospital Center Split (23 organ donors) and General Hospi-tal Varaždin (18 organ donors)Significant improvement of the quality of the donor programs was achieved by coordination teams of UHC Split and General Hospital PulaCongratulations to all health professionals on the achieved results and I would like to use this opportunity to express my special gratitude to the donor families whose extraordinary selfless act of giving starts a battle for a new life.
