technology training and demonstration centers, bull service station
for cross breeding program and the like which contributed towards
the improvement of the livelihood status of the beneficiaries.
Currently these projects are in the process of phasing out. And
as an exit strategy EKHC wishes to hand over the project activities
and resources to the existing and/or newly established community
based organizations (CBOs) like marketing cooperatives, business
groups and self help groups and also the church, as some of the
nurseries were established in the territories of church compounds
while ensuring that the achievement of development goals is not
jeopardized. In this regard building the administrative and
management capacities and identifying the gaps and possible
solutions will help to ensure the sustainability of program
activities after withdrawal of the projects from the project
areas.
In this regard the role of an external consultant will be
crucial especially by providing technical support to the project
managers, staffs and also CBO leaders through advisory support
during his /her visit to project sites , supporting in preparing
and revising manuals and bylaws, participating during training of
CBOs and staff in sustainability aspects and also identifying the
gaps during the implementation of the projects in the past and
their possible solutions and points of recommendation for future
programming.
Basic requirements of the candidates for consultancy; Experience
in organizing and leading cooperatives, skill in entrepreneurship
Very good knowledge of development project sustainability
Experience in performing field research, giving trainings and
preparing manuals Very good knowledge of different computer
programs, including statistical packages, to be
utilized for an efficient and in-depth evaluation Excellent
communication skills both in the Ethiopian and international
context, fluency in the
