REPORT ON THE FREEDOM FORTNIGHT

�Freedom means the opportunity to be what we never thought
we would be�
The freedom that we are enjoying today is a result of the
unstinted efforts of our freedom fighters.
As per the guidelines of the Ministry of HRD, New Delhi,
Pawar Public School, Chandivali, Mumbai geared up for the
project %Freedom Fortnight.&
Activity 1
Students and facilitators got together, brainstormed and decided
to bring the walls of the school alive with pictorial depiction of the
Indian Freedom Struggle from 1857 to 1947.
Activity 1
We recreated a gallery on each of our six floors with huge sun
boards showcasing the struggle and sacrifice of both the known
and the lesser known heroes of our freedom struggle. Teachers,
staff and students worked passionately compiling data for this
gallery.
The gallery was inaugurated at the hands of
Capt. Suresh Vanjari, Ex Army Officer

through the corridors of our school shouting slogans in their innocent voices.

Independence Day celebrations
The tricolor was hoisted by the senior most and the youngest facilitator
(in terms of age). Patriotic songs were sung by the Performing Arts
Department.

Students and teachers celebrated the Independence Day
with full vigour and enthusiasm.

Students from Grade 6 to 8 sang the patriotic song
�Chanda Chamke Suraj Chamke,
Humara Pyara Desh Hari Bhari Dharti Wali HaiD.
This song reflects the supreme patriotic spirit of all Indians.

Special Assembly
Students of Grade 4 & 5 focussed that the journey of freedom struggle
did not end in 1947.
A skit depicting the struggle of Forest Man of India , Mr. Jadhav Molai
Peyang was enacted. This man created a wild forest in about 1360 acres of
land single handedly. He was conferred with Padma Shri Award in 2015.

A discussion on %What can I do
for my country?& was held. It was
impressed on the students that it
is not necessary to become a
soldier to serve your country.
Small deeds like a cleanliness
drive, following traffic rules,
saving water and our
environment etc. are also service
to the nation.

Special Assembly
Skit showcasing the greatness and valour of the revolutionaries,
Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev & Rajguru. Students enacted their role to
perfection and inspired the student audience in the assembly with
feeling of patriotism.

Students of Grade 1 to 9 made greeting cards under the guidance
of the Art & Craft department for our soldiers who guard the
borders of our country.
