Within 24 hours of my last email asking BCTF members to email NDP MLAs, more than 1,500 of you took action. Thank you! By today, that number has passed 2,000. Over the weekend, I’m hoping you’ll help us get to more than 4,000 emails. Our Bargaining Team needs your help to pressure the government to get the current concessions off the table and add more funding so we can get a good deal. Our hope is that members can help support the work of our Bargaining Team by ap- plying heaps of pressure on MLAs now, before the collective agreement expires. Pres- sure works, so let’s keep up the pressure! There’s a simple online form ready for you to send an email to your NDP MLA. It’s loaded up and ready to go with a standard message. You can also add your own story before hitting send. The Minister of Education and the Minister of Finance will be copied on your email as well. Thank you to the many members who have added their personal stories. We know the MLAs are talking about this campaign. Now, let’s get them to take action. All the bargaining updates are available on the MyBCTF portal. Head over there if you haven’t read up on the background and why we need this email campaign. Thanks again for helping out. Let’s show this government that teachers stand behind our Bargaining Team. Send the email today and let’s get those concessions off the table. Glen Hansman BCTF President

MESSAGE FROM BCTF PRESIDENT

HAVE YOU EMAILED YOUR MLA ABOUT BCTF BARGAINING? Within 24 hours of my last email asking BCTF members to email NDP MLAs, more than 1,500 of you took action. Thank you!

By today, that number has passed 2,000. Over the weekend, I’m hoping you’ll help us get to more than 4,000 emails. Our Bargaining Team needs your help to pressure the government to get the current concessions off the table and add more funding so we can get a good deal.

Our hope is that members can help support the work of our Bargaining Team by ap-plying heaps of pressure on MLAs now, before the collective agreement expires. Pres-sure works, so let’s keep up the pressure!

WHITECAPS TICKETS

How would you like to go to the Vancouver Whitecaps' 1979 Anniversary match versus To-ronto FC on Friday May 31st? The BTA has purchased 10 tickets for this historic game. Members need only log on to the BCTF members portal, read the May 7th bargaining up-date and answer the questions in the link below for a chance to win a pair of tickets. We will be giving away two pairs of tickets this week for the May 7th bargaining update and another two pairs next week after the next BCTF update. We will have a draw from the last pair at the May 28th AGM. Winners will be announced at the BTA’s AGM on May 28th at the Operating Engineers’ Hall. Good luck! Bargaining updates are coming through personal email and are posted in the BCTF member portal. If you are not receiving any communication from the BCTF, make sure they have your updated contact information. https://forms.gle/XMCf4oq4DvYMSuhW7
