Puji Syukur senantiasa kita panjatkan kehadirat Allah SWT, atas rahmat dan karunia-Nya kita dapat melaksanakan kegiatan, amal dan ibadah. Dalam situasi pandemicCovid-19 yang masih terjadi hingga saat ini, tidak menjadi halangan bagi civitas akademika Faperta IPB untuk tetap produktif dalam mendukung perkembangan programSustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Seperti yang kita ketahui Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) merupakan suatu rencana akhir global yang disepakati oleh para pimpinan dunia, termasuk Indonesia,guna mengakhiri kemiskinan, mengurangi kesenjangan dan melindungi lingkungan. SDGs berisi 17 tujuan dan 169 target yang diharapkan dapat dicapai pada tahun 2030.rencana aksi global ini tentu perlu didukung oleh setiap komponen dan unit bangsa dan masyarakat.

Kami berterimakasih kepada tim yang telah bekerja keras merangkum berbagai kegiatan Faperta IPB dan mengemasnya dalam bentuk yang mudah dibaca dan diakses.Diharapkan kegiatan terkait SDGs dapat lebih ditingkatkan pada masa mendatang sehingga secara simultan akan dapat mendukung percepatan pencapaian tujuan SDGstersebut. Semoga Allah SWT mudahkan segala urusan kita.

Konferensi Internasional dengan tema Pertanian Berkelanjutan dan Sistem Pertanian

International e-Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and

Farming System (ICoSAFS) merupakan konferensi internasional

yang diadakan sebagai ungkapan kepedulian untuk membangun

dan mengembangkan aspek pertanian berkelanjutan dan sistem

pertanian di Indonesia. ICoSAFS diajukan dalam skema “Hibah

penyelenggaraan seminar/workshop Internasional dengan luaran

prosiding yang terindeks pada database scopus”.

Pelaksanaan kegiatan diselenggarakan bersama dengan Badan

Kerjasama (BKS) PTN Wilayah Barat Bidang Pertanian dan juga

International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences

(ISSAAS), Indonesian Chapter.

International E-Conference Sustainable Agriculture and FarmingSystem (ICoSAFS) secara umum bertujuan meningkatkanreputasi internasional IPB dalam kriteria World Class University.Adapun tujuan khusus penyelenggaraan yang berkenaan dengantopik Sustainable Agriculture dan Farming System antara lain:1. media forum ilmiah untuk membahas sistem pertanian

berkelanjutan dan sistem pertanian.2. mendorong dan memfasilitasi jejaring (networking) bagi

peneliti Indonesia, khususnya civitas akademika IPB, dalamkancah internasional.

3. Memediasi penerbitan hasil penelitian civitas akademika IPBdan para peneliti Indonesia dalam database yang bereputasi(terindeks scopus).

Konferensi ICoSAFS ini diadakan secaravirtual via Zoom Meeting pada tanggal 24-25September 2020. Konferensi ICoSAFS terdiridari sesi plenary dan sesi paralel. Berbagaiaspek terkait sistem pertanian berkelanjutandan sistem pertanian dibahas selamaconference. Kegiatan konferensi dihadiri oleh7 (tujuh) orang narasumber yang berasaldari Amerika Serikat, Jepang, Kroasia,Malaysia, dan Indonesia.

Kendala dari program ini adalah jaringaninternet yang kurang stabil pada saatpelaksanaan program.

Luaran dari program ini yaitu upaya advokasidalam rangka meningkatkan daya saingdalam hal terkait sistem pertanianberkelanjutan dan sistem pertanian diIndonesia, pembiayaan secara menyeluruhdari Institut Pertanian Bogor untukmendukung sepenuhnya komponen acarakonferensi ini.

International Conference on The Theme of Sustainable Agriculture and Agricultural Systems

International e-Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and

Farming System (ICoSAFS) is an international conference held as

an expression of concern to build and develop sustainable

agriculture and agricultural systems in Indonesia. ICoSAFS has

proposed in the scheme "Grants for organizing international

seminars/workshops with indexed proceedings on the Scopus

database”.

The implementation of the activity was held in conjunction with

the Cooperation Agency (BKS) Western Region of Agriculture and

the International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences

(ISSAAS), Indonesian Chapter.

International E-Conference Sustainable Agriculture and FarmingSystem (ICoSAFS) aims to improve the international reputation ofIPB in the criteria of the World Class University. The specificpurpose of organizing related to the topic of SustainableAgriculture and Farming System include:1. Media scientific forum to discuss sustainable agricultural

systems and agricultural systems2. Encourage and facilitate networking for Indonesian

researchers, especially the ipb academic community, in theinternational arena.

3. ICoSAFS are mediating the publication of research results ofthe IPB academic community and Indonesian researchers in areputable database (indexed Scopus).

The ICoSAFS Conference was held virtuallyvia Zoom Meeting on September 24-25th

2020. The ICoSAFS conference consists ofplenary sessions and parallel sessions.Various aspects related to sustainableagricultural systems and agricultural systemswere discussed during the meeting. Theconference was attended by 7 (seven) invitedspeakers from the United States, Japan,Croatia, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The constraint of this program is the unstableinternet network at the time of theimplementation of the program.

This output of this program is advocacyefforts to improve competitiveness in termsof sustainable agriculture system andagricultural system in Indonesia, overallfinancing from IPB University to fully supportthe components of this conference event.

Summer Course Online 2020 on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture

Fakultas Pertanian, IPB Universitymenyelenggarakan International Summer Course onSustainable Tropical Agriculture bagi mahasiswasarjana. Summer Course dilakukan secara daringdari 21 September sampai 2 Oktober 2020.

Terdapat 30 mahasiswa yang mengikuti SummerCourse dari enam perguruan tinggi yaitu KyotoUniversity, Kagoshima University, UniversitiMalaysia, Terengganu University Malaysia, NationalPingtung University of Science and Technology, sertaIPB University.

Direktur Program Internasional IPB University, ProfDr Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar turut menyambutbaik dan mengapresiasi peserta Summer Courseyang diselenggarakan secara daring ini.

Prof Dr Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar memaparkan,kegiatan ini turut meningkatkan kerjasama antaraIPB University dengan perguruan tinggi partnertentang isu keberlanjutan terutama di bidangsustainable agriculture tropic. Pasalnya, sektorpertanian turut berkontribusi terhadap capaiansustainable development goals (SGDs).

Sementara, Dekan Fakultas Pertanian IPB University, DrSugiyanta menerangkan kegiatan Summer Course adalahkegiatan tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Faperta IPBUniversity.

Dr Sugiyanta ketika membuka Summer Course menjelaskan,tahun-tahun sebelumnya, peserta diajak berkunjunglangsung ke tempat-tempat bisnis, penelitian danlaboratorium lapang secara langsung, tetapi tahun ini seluruhkegiatan dilakukan secara daring. Oleh karenanya, parapeserta nanti hanya bisa menikmati seluruh kegiatan melaluistreaming saja.

Nantinya, lanjut Sugiyanta, peserta menyaksikan secaravirtual tentang bisnis kopi di Frinsa Java Coffee Estate, BalaiBesar Penelitian Padi, Pusat Penelitian Teh dan Kina, sertasektor privat lainnya. Pengenalan budaya Indonesia juga akandisajikan secara virtual performance.

Summer Course Online 2020 on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture

Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University organizes theInternational Summer Course on SustainableTropical Agriculture for undergraduate students.Summer Course is conducted online from September21 to October 2, 2020.

Thirty students participated in the Summer Coursefrom six universities, namely Kyoto University,Kagoshima University, Universiti Malaysia,Terengganu University Malaysia, National PingtungUniversity of Science and Technology, and IPBUniversity.

Director of International Program of IPB University,Prof. Dr Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar, also welcomedand appreciated the participants of this SummerCourse held online.

Prof Dr Iskandar Zulkarnaen Siregar explained thatthis activity also increases cooperation between IPBUniversity and partner universities on sustainabilityissues, especially in sustainable agriculture tropics.The reason is that the agricultural sector contributesto the achievement of sustainable developmentgoals (SGDs).

Meanwhile, the Dean of the faculty of agriculture of IPBUniversity, Dr Sugiyanta, explained that Summer Course is anannual activity organized by Faperta IPB University.

Dr Sugiyanta, when opening the Summer Course explained,in previous years, participants were invited to visit directly tobusiness places, research and field laboratories directly, butthis year all activities were conducted online. Therefore, theparticipants can only enjoy all activities through streaming.

Later, Sugiyanta continued, participants watched virtuallyabout the coffee business at Frinsa Java Coffee Estate, TheCenter for Rice Research, Tea and Quinine Research Center,and other private sectors. The introduction of Indonesianculture will also be presented virtually performance.

Dalam rangkaian acara SummerCourse Online Faperta 2020, programpengenalan lingkungan pertaniantropika sangat penting dilakukansalah satunya dengan mengadakankompetisi Undergraduate StudentOpinion Competition (SOC).Kompetisi SOC ini diadakan bertujuanuntuk meningkatkan pemahamantentang pertanian tropika dari aspeklingkungan dan ekologi, biodiversitasserta aspek produksi danmanajemen. Kompetisi SOC ini telahdiselenggarakan pada penutupanSummer Course secara online padaJumat, 2 Oktober 2020.

Kategori Penghargaan UndergraduateStudent Opinion Competition masing-masing mendapatkan hadiah: 1stWinner: Uang senilai Rp. 1.250.000dan piagam penghargaan internasional,2nd Winner: Uang senilai Rp.1.000.000 dan piagam penghargaaninternasional, 3rd Winner: Uang senilaiRp. 750.000 dan piagam penghargaaninternasional.

In the series of Events SummerCourse Online Faperta 2020,introducing the tropical agriculturalenvironment is essential to beconducted by holding anUndergraduate Student OpinionCompetition (SOC). This SOCcompetition was held to improveunderstanding of tropical agriculturefrom environmental and ecologicalaspects, biodiversity, and productionand management aspects. This SOCcompetition was held at the closing ofthe Summer Course online on Friday,October 2, 2020.

Undergraduate Student OpinionCompetition Award category each get aprize: 1st Winner: Money worth Rp.1.250.000 and international awardcharter, 2nd Winner: Money worth Rp.1.000.000 and international awardcharter, 3rd Winner: Money worth Rp.750.000 and international awardcharter.

Bulungan Peroleh Tanda Daftar

Varietas Padi Seikayan

Kabupaten Bulungan memiliki potensi besar menjadisalah satu lumbung pangan Indonesia. Kabupatenyang terletak di Provinsi Kalimantan Utara tersebutmemiliki keragaman sumberdaya genetik lokal padi,salah satunya yang menjadi unggulan adalah “padiikan”. Kepala Pusat Perlindungan Varietas Tanamandan Perijinan Pertanian, Kementerian Pertanian RItelah memberikan persetujuan atas usulan BupatiBulungan, Nomor 1534/PVL/2020 tertanggal 5Oktober 2020, dengan nama varietas lokal “PadiSeikayan”. Dalam proses penyiapan dokumenusulan tersebut, Tim Bappeda dan Dinas PertanianKabupaten Bulungan didampingi oleh Tim dariFakultas Pertanian IPB.

Kesungguhan Pemerintah Kabupaten Bulungandalam mewujudkan Bulungan sebagai lumbungpangan, antara lain melakukan MoU Bupati denganRektor IPB pada Januari 2019. MoU tersebutditindaklanjuti dengan SPK antara Kepala Bappeda,Drs Muhammad Isnaini, dengan Dekan FakultasPertanian IPB pada tahun 2019 dan 2020.

Tim Fakultas Pertanian IPB yang diketuaioleh Ir Hermanu Widjaja, MSc,menindaklanjuti dengan berbagai programyang berkaitan dengan produksi pangan,terutama padi pada tahun 2019 danditambah dengan cabe dan bawang merahpada 2020. Khususnya untuk pendeskripsianpadi Seikayan, Tim Faperta diperkuat dosenpemuliaan Dr Arya Widura Ritonga danDosen Ilmu Teknologi Benih, AhmadZamzami SP, MSi. Beras Padi Seikayan atauyang dikenal sebagai Padi Ikan sangatdiminati oleh masyarakat Bulungan karenarasanya yang khas pulen dan aromanyayang wangi.

Bupati Bulungan, H Sudjati, SH, didampingieks-dan Plh Kepala Bappeda (Drs M Isnaini,dan Iwan Sugiyanta, ST MT), Kepala DinasPertanian (Dr Ahmad Yani), Plh DinasTransmigrasi dan Tenaga Kerja beserta staf,menyambut baik perolehan Sertifikat TandaDaftar Varietas Tanaman Padi Seikayan, diRuang Bupati Bulungan, pada Kamis 19November 2020.

Bupati dalam sambutannyamenegaskan kembali komitmen KabBulungan untuk menjadikanBulungan sebagai lumbung pangannasional. Hal ini diperkuat denganpenegasan Kepala dinas Pertaniandan Bappeda yang selalumemprioritaskan program pertanianpangan dalam kerangka “food estate”Bulungan. “Perolehan Tanda DaftarVarietas Tanaman Padi Seikayanmenunjukkan pengakuan danpenghargaan dari Pemerintah tentangasal sumberdaya genetik padi lokaldari Kabupaten Bulungan, yangdiharapkan dapat menjadi saranapromosi dan sekaligus sebagaiunggulan dalam pemanfatannyasecara ekonomi yang bisa dirasakankhususnya oleh masyarakat petaniBulungan”, demikian diharapkanBupati.

Regency Obtains a List of Seikayan

Rice Varieties

Bulungan Regency has excellent potential to becomeone of Indonesia's food barns. The regency locatedin North Kalimantan Province has a diversity of localgenetic resources of rice, one of which is theflagship is "fish rice." Head of the Center for CropVariety Protection and Agricultural Licensing,Ministry of Agriculture has approved the proposal ofthe Regent of Bulungan, Number 1534/PVL/2020dated October 5, 2020, under the name of localvariety "Padi Seikayan." In preparing the proposaldocument, the Regional Development PlanningAgency Team and The Agriculture Office of BulunganRegency were accompanied by a Faculty ofAgriculture IPB.

The seriousness of the Bulungan RegencyGovernment in realizing Bulungan as a food barn,among others, conducted the Regent MoU with theRector of IPB in January 2019. The MoU wasfollowed up with a cooperation agreement letterbetween the Head of Regional DevelopmentPlanning Agency, Drs Muhammad Isnaini, and theDean of the Faculty of Agriculture IPB in 2019 and2020.

The Faculty of Agriculture ipb team, led by IrHermanu Widjaja, MSc, followed up withvarious programs related to food production,especially rice, in 2019 and added with chiliand shallots in 2020. Especially for seikayanrice description, Faperta Team strengthenedbreeding lecturer Dr. Arya Widura Ritongaand Lecturer of Seed Technology Science,Ahmad Zamzami SP, MSi. Seikayan Ricerice, known as Fish Rice, is in great demandby the people of Bulungan because of itsdistinctive taste and fragrant aroma.

The Regent of Bulungan, H Sudjati, SH,accompanied by ex-and the daily executor ofthe Head of Regional Development PlanningAgency (Drs M Isnaini, and Iwan Sugiyanta,ST MT), The Head of the Agriculture Office(Dr Ahmad Yani), the daily executor of theTransmigration and Labor Office and staff,welcomed the acquisition of the Certificateof Seikayan Rice Crop Variety List, in theBulungan Regent's Room, on Thursday,November 19, 2020.

The Regent, in his speech, reaffirmedthe commitment of Bulungan Districtto make Bulungan a national foodbarn. This is reinforced by theaffirmation of the Head of Agricultureand Regional Development PlanningAgency office who always prioritizesfood farming programs within thebulungan "food estate"framework." "The acquisition of TheList of Varieties of Seikayan RicePlants shows recognition andappreciation from the Governmentabout the origin of local rice geneticresources from Bulungan Regency,which is expected to be a means ofpromotion and at the same time as asuperior in its economic utilizationthat can be felt especially by thebulungan farming community," theRegent is expected.

SATREPS adalah programpemerintah Jepang yangmempromosikan penelitianbersama internasional. Program inidisusun sebagai kolaborasi antaraJapan Science and TechnologyAgency (JST), yang menyediakandana penelitian kompetitif untukproyek sains dan teknologi , danJapan Agency for Medical Researchand Development (AMED), yangmenyediakan dana penelitian danpengembangan medis yangkompetitif, dan Japan InternationalCooperation Agency (JICA), yangmemberikan bantuanpengembangan (ODA).Berdasarkan kebutuhan negaraberkembang, program ini bertujuanuntuk mengatasi masalah global *1dan mengarah pada hasil penelitianmanfaat praktis bagi masyarakatlokal dan global *2

Kerjasama Tim Chiba Universitydan Tim IPB, dukungan dana dariJICA dan JST, mengembangkanmetode penilaian kerusakantanaman padi akibat banjir,kekeringan serta hama danpenyakit tanaman

Pencarian metode pengindraanjauh dan teknologi spasial baru,dengan drone berkamera termal,multispektral, atau hyperspektral,dan data citra satelit, yangdifasilitasi alat pengamatanlapang kuantitatif seperti fotoradiometrik, teodolite, chlorophyllmeter, dan berbagai perangkatlunak pengolah citra dan pengenalobjek digital.

SATREPS is a Japanese governmentprogram that promotesinternational joint research. Theprogram is structured as acollaboration between the JapanScience and Technology Agency(JST), which provides competitiveresearch funds for science andtechnology projects , and the JapanAgency for Medical Research andDevelopment(AMED), whichprovides competitive researchfunds for medical research anddevelopment, and the JapanInternational Cooperation Agency(JICA), which providesdevelopment assistance (ODA).Based on the needs of developingcountries, the program aims toaddress global issues and lead toresearch outcomes of practicalbenefit to both local and globalsociety.

Chiba University Teamwork andIPB Team, funding support fromJICA and JST, developassessmentof damage to rice crops due tofloods, droughts and pests andplant diseasesThe search forremote sensing methods and newspatial technologies, with thermal,multispectral, or hyperspectralcamera drones, and satelliteimagery data, facilitatedquantitative field observation toolssuch as metric photoradio,teodolite, chlorophyll meters, andvarious image processing anddigital object recognition software.

Kerjasama 2 institusi dari Indonesia dan 5 institusi dari Belanda, yang didukung NSO, untukmengembangkan layanan data geospasial untuk pengembangan tanaman hortikultura, yangdiletakkan dalam Web, Apps dan SMS.

Layanan yang diberikan (Tim IPB: Faperta dan Fmipa) adalah rekomendasi pemupukan, irigasi,prediksi curah hujan, serta membantu mengotomatiskan pemetaan komoditas.

Layanan pengetahuan IPB diintegrasikan dalam Apps Sipindo (dan juga web); mendapatkanrekomendasi berbasis lokasi untuk berbagai komoditas hortikultura.

IPB knowledge services are integrated into Sipindo Apps (as well as the web); get location-basedrecommendations for various horticultural commodities.

Pengembangan lanskap menghadapi perubahan akselerasi yang sangat tinggi, mengingatpertumbuhan dan perkembangan suatu wilayah. Sebagai hasil dari aktivitas manusia, berbagaidampak negatif muncul untuk pengembangan lanskap, seperti hilangnya ruang terbuka hijau (RTH)dan ruang terbuka biru (RTB), penurunan kualitas iklim mikro terkait kenyamanan, kelalaian layananpotensial seperti lanskap serta berbagai masalah lingkungan lainnya.

Memang pengembangan lanskap yang lebih baik adalah habitat bagi manusia, vegetasi dan hewanyang diharapkan setiap sudut lanskap dapat memberikan situasi yang dapat memberikan keamanandan kenyamanan bagi penghuni di dalamnya (penghuni). Peran Arsitektur Lanskap di duniamemberikan rasa nyaman dapat diwujudkan dengan peran-partisipasi dalam memberikan kontribusiterhadap pengembangan lanskap yang berkelanjutan. Lanskap berkelanjutan adalah lanskap yangdapat menyediakan berbagai fungsi ekologis seperti penghapusan radiasi dari matahari, mengurangipolusi udara dan sekaligus memberikan fungsi sosial di masyarakat dan fungsi ekonomi secaramandiri.

Kesadaran akan pentingnya pembangunan lanskap berkelanjutan telah dicanangkan olehPerserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) dalam program Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pada Goal11th, yaitu menjadikan kota dan pemukiman manusia menjadi inklusif, aman, tangguh danberkelanjutan (sumber: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdg11). Tidak seperti MillenniumDevelopment Goals (MDGs, 2000-2015), metode dan sarana untuk implementasi SDGsmembutuhkan partisipasi warga dan publik. Cara untuk memastikan pencapaian seluruh target Goalsdan SDGs adalah dengan melibatkan kelompok masyarakat dalam pelaksanaan dan pencapaian SDGs(2016-2030) sesuai dengan nawacita bangsa Indonesia..

Pentingnya partisipasi masyarakat menjadi kunci pengembangan lanskap saat ini. Pada akhirnya,akademisi perlu menjembatani dan memfasilitasi peran serta masyarakat dalam rangka mewujudkanSDGs dan nawacita yang dapat terkandung dalam bentuk kegiatan simposium pertemuan ilmiah.Kegiatan ini merupakan kelanjutan dari simposium beberapa tahun lalu, oleh karena itukeberlanjutan kegiatan ini sangat penting untuk dikelola secara rutin. Topik simposium akandisesuaikan secara berkala dengan kondisi yang relevan saat ini.

Landscape development is facing very high acceleration changes, considering the growth anddevelopment of a region. As a result of human activities, various negative impacts arose for thelandscape development, such as the loss of green open space (GOS) and blue open space (BOS),decreased quality of comfort-related micro-climate, the omission of the potential services suchlandscapes as well as a variety of others environments problems.

Indeed the development of better landscape is a habitat for humans, vegetation and animals whichare expected every corner of the landscape can provide a situation which can provide security andcomfort for the occupants therein (dwellers). Role of Landscape Architecture in the world gives asense of comfort can be realized with role-participation in giving contributions to the development ofa sustainable landscape. Sustainable landscape is a landscape that can provide a variety of ecologicalfunctions such as elimination of radiation from the sun, reduce air pollution and at the same timeprovide a social function in the community and economic function independently.

Awareness of the importance of sustainable landscape development has been proclaimed by theUnited Nations (UN) in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program at Goal 11th, namely tomake cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (source:https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdg11 ). Unlike the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs,2000-2015), methods and means for implementation SDGs requires citizen and public participation. Away to ensure the achievement entire Goals and SDGs targets are to involve community groups inthe implementation and attainment of SDGs (2016-2030) in accordance with nawacita Indonesiannation.

The importance of community participation becomes the key to landscape development today. At theend, academics need to bridge and facilitate the role of the community in order to realize the SDGsand nawacita that can be contained in the form of symposium activities of scientific meetings. Thisactivity is a continuation of the symposium a few years ago, therefore the sustainability of thisactivity is very important to be managed on a regular basis. Symposium topics will periodicallyadjusted to the conditions that are relevant at this time.

Padi varietas IPB -3S merupakan padi varietas baru hasil pemuliaan Dr.

Ir. Hajrial Aswidinoor, M.Sc, periset di Institut Pertanian Bogor. Varietas

ini merupakan hasil persilangan jenis fatmawati sebagai induk jantan dan

galur unggul IPB-d-10s-1-1-1 sebagai induk betina.

Padi jenis IPB 3S ini mempunyai ciri-ciri khas dan keunggulan berikut ini:

1. Umur tanaman pendek, hanya sekitar 112 hari,

2. Tanaman tahan terhadap kekeringan,

3. Potensi hasil panen 11,2 – 13,4 ton/ha,

4. Tahan terhadap penyakit Tungro dan serangan hawar daun bakteri

patotipe III,

5. Cocok ditanam di berbagai jenis lahan,

6. Bentuk gabah agak medium (gendut),

7. Jumlah gabah per malai di atas 300 butir, dan

8. Tekstur nasi pulen.

Kendala: kelemahan padi IPB 3S, antara lain sulit dirontokkan oleh

mesin, memiliki presentase hampa yang terbilang tinggi-mencapai 26?n

cenderung menghasilkan beras yang buram kecokelatan.

Rice varieties IPB -3S is a new variety of rice breeding Dr. Ir. Hajrial

Aswidinoor, M.Sc, a researcher at the Bogor Agricultural Institute. This

variety is the result of crossing fatmawati as the male parent and the

IPB-d-10s-1-1-1 superior line as the female parent. This type of IPB 3S

rice has the following characteristics and advantages:

1. The plant age is short, only about 112 days,2. The plant is drought resistant,3. Potential yield 11.2 – 13.4. tons/ha, Resistant to Tungro disease and bacterial leaf blight attack of

pathotype III,5. Suitable for planting in various types of land,6. The grain shape is rather medium (fat),7. The number of grains per panicle is above 300 grains, and8. The texture of rice is fluffier.Constraints: the weakness of IPB 3S rice,

among others, is that it is difficult to thresh out by machines, it has arelatively high percentage of voids - up to 26 26n tends to producebrownish opaque rice.

Nanas “PK1”

Varietas Nenas PK-1 merupakan varietas nenas hasil pemuliaanyang dikembangkan oleh Tim Pemulia Pusat Kajian Buah-buahanTropika IPB, yaitu Dr. Sobir dan Tim. Varietas ini masih dalamproses pelepasan varietas di Kementerian Pertanian. VarietasNenas PK-1 mempunyai ciri tepi daun tidak berduri, warna kulitbuah kuning berciorak hijau, warna daging buah kuning cerahdengan rasa buah yang manis asam, dan bobot sekitar 1,2-1,5kilogram per buah. Produktivitas Nenas PK-1 dapat mencapai 60-75 ton per hektar.

Varietas Nanas PK1 ini banyak ditanam oleh petani di Kediri dantelah diekspor berbagai Negara seperti ke Singapura, Jepang,Korea Selatan. Besar buah ideal untuk canned food dan cocokuntuk Konsumen Asia

Pineapple “PK1”

Pineapple variety PK-1 is a pineapple variety as a result ofbreeding which was developed by the Breeding Team of theTropical Fruits Study Center of IPB, namely Dr. Sobir and Team.This variety is still in the process of releasing varieties at theMinistry of Agriculture. The Pineapple PK-1 variety has thecharacteristics of thornless leaf edges, yellow skin color withgreen stripes, bright yellow flesh color with a sweet and sour fruittaste, and a weight of about 1.2-1.5 kilograms per fruit.Pineapple PK-1 productivity can reach 60-75 tons per hectare.

This PK1 Pineapple variety is widely grown by farmers in Kediriand has been exported to various countries such as Singapore,Japan, South Korea. The size of the fruit is ideal for canned foodand suitable for Asian consumers.

Laboratorium Alam di Tanah Ciremai

Departemen Proteksi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Institut

Pertanian Bogor (IPB) telah mengembangkan tiga bioprospeksi

mikroba yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat untuk ketahanan

pangan dan ekonomi, yaitu:

1. Bakteri Lysinibacilus fusiformis yang merupakan bakteri

pemicu pertumbuhan akar atau yang dikenal sebagai Plant

Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR).

2. Bakteri Pseudomonas syiringae, bakteri ini dapat melindungi

tanaman dari frost sehingga tanaman tahan terhadap embun

yang membeku (es) pada tanaman yang

mengalami frost seperti di pegunungan Dieng, Bromo dan

daerah dataran tinggi lainnya.

3. Cendawan Lecanicilium sp merupakan cendawan patogen

serangga hama, khususnya kelompok wereng dan kutu-

kutuan.

Penelitian yang yang dipimpin oleh Suryo Wiyono dari

Laboratorium Departemen Proteksi Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian

IPB itu melibatkan 37 sampel yang dikumpulkan dari tanah, akar-

akaran, dan daun dari berbagai tanaman di kawasan TNGC untuk

mendapatkan mikroba berguna. Hasil eksplorasi tim TNGC dan

IPB menemukan isolat bakteri pemacu pertumbuhan (Plant

Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria/PGPR) yaitu C71 yang mampu

meningkatkan panjang akar bibit tomat 42,35 %, dan

meningkatan daya kecambah sebesar 178 %.

Manfaat pelaksanaan program: Fakta di lapangan juga

menunjukan bahwa mikroba bermanfaat dari dalam kawasan

TNGC terbukti dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan

menyehatkan tanaman. Termasuk pada tanaman pemulihan

ekosistem, terbukti mempercepat pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman

hutan hanya dalam kurun waktu 5 bulan.

Luaran: Pada saat ini, sebagian besar petani dari 54 desa

penyangga langsung menggunakan bahan kimia buatan sebagai

penyubur tanaman maupun sebagai pembasmi hama.

Natural Laboratories in Tanah Ciremai

The Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture,

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has developed three

bioprospecting microbes that are beneficial to the community

for food security and the economy, namely:

1. Bacteria Lysinibacilus fusiformis which is a bacteria that

triggers root growth or known as Plant Growth Promoting

Rhizobacteria (PGPR).

2. Pseudomonas syiringae bacteria, these bacteria can

protect plants from frost so that plants are resistant to

frost (ice) on plants experiencing frost such as in the

mountains of Dieng, Bromo and other highland areas.

3. The fungus Lecanicilium sp is a pathogenic fungus of

insect pests, especially the group of leafhoppers and lice.

The research, led by Suryo Wiyono from the Laboratory of

the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture,

IPB, involved 37 samples collected from soil, roots, and

leaves of various plants in the TNGC area to obtain useful

microbes. The exploration results of the TNGC and IPB teams

found an isolate of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria

(PGPR) namely C71 which was able to increase the root

length of tomato seedlings by 42.35%, and increase

germination by 178%.Benefits of implementing the program:

Facts on the ground also show that beneficial microbes from

within the TNGC area are proven to increase growth and

nourish plants. Including ecosystem restoration plants, it has

been proven to accelerate the growth of forest plant height

in just 5 months.

Outcome: Currently, most of the farmers from the 54 buffer

villages directly use artificial chemicals as plant fertilizers or

as pest control.

Beasiswa IKA Faperta merupakan beasiswa yang diprakarsai oleh Ikatan Keluarga Alumni FakultasPertanian (IKA FAPERTA). Beasiswa ini dikelola oleh Divisi Beasiswa dan Pembinaan IKA Faperta yangdimulai pada tahun 2017. Beasiswa yang diberikan terbagi 2 yaitu Beasiswa Faperta per batch danBeasiswa Emergency.

Beasiswa diberikan dengan prioritas bagi mahasiswa yang mengalami kendala finansial. Hal inidiharapkan dapat membantu biaya pendidikan dan biaya hidup selama masa Kuliah. Selain itu juga,diharapakan agar mahasiswa bisa mandiri dan lulus tepat waktu.

Tak hanya memberikan bantuan biaya kuliah dan biaya hidup, kegiatan beasiswa juga memberikanpelatihan untuk dapat meningkatkan kapasistas sofskills mahasiswa. Pelatihan yang diberikan berupateori dan praktik langsung lapangan.

Total beasiswa yang diterima oleh mahasiswa Rp. 12.000.000/tahun/mahasiswa. Sebanyak 5mahasiswa pada 2 Maret 2020 berhak menerima bantuan beasiswa ini. BEASISWA IKA FAPERTA

Batch 4

IKA Faperta Scholarship is a scholarship initiated by the Alumni Family Association of the Faculty ofAgriculture (IKA FAPERTA). This scholarship is managed by the IKA Faperta Scholarship andDevelopment Division which started in 2017. The scholarships are divided into 2, namely FapertaScholarships per batch and Emergency Scholarships.

Scholarships are given with priority to students who experience financial constraints. This is expected tohelp with the cost of education and living expenses during the study period. In addition, it is hoped thatstudents can be independent and graduate on time.

Not only providing tuition and living expenses assistance, scholarship activities also provide training toincrease students' soft skills capacity. The training provided is in the form of theory and direct fieldpractice.

The total scholarship received by students is Rp. 12,000,000/year/student. A total of 5 students onMarch 2, 2020 are eligible to receive this scholarship assistance. The students who received came fromthe departments in Faculty of Agriculture, namely 2 students of Land Resources Management, 1 studentof Agronomy and Horticulture, 1 student of Plant Protection, and 1 student of Landscape Architecture.

Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Ikatan Keluarga Alumni Fakultas Pertanian IPB (GOTA IKA Faperta) BeasiswaCOVID-19 is an activity to collect and distribute donations by Faperta alumni from May – November2020. Pertanian Tropis Berkelanjutan Secara Daring

Fakultas Pertanian, IPB University kembali

menyelenggarakan International Summer Course

on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture bagi

mahasiswa sarjana. Program summer course

online ini mempunyai banyak manfaat

diantaranya mahasiswa akan mendapat transfer

kredit (2 SKS), Kuliah Online dari Dosen dari IPB

University dan Partner University, Diskusi kelas

dengan mahasiswa dari partner university,

mengikuti Seminar Internasional ICoSAFS 2020

pada tanggal 24-25 September 2020, Virtual

fieldtrip dan pertukaran budaya,mengikuti

Kompetisi Internasional Poster dan Opinion, dan

mendapat sertfikat Inetransional.

Kegiatan perkuliahan disampaikan oleh pengajar

dengan berbagai ahli dibidang pertanian

khususnya pengelolaan lahan, sistem budidaya,

hama penyakit dan lanskap di lingkungan

dilaksanakan dengan mengunjungi berbagai

tempat yang berhubungan kegiatan pertanian

tetapi tahun ini seluruh kegiatan

dilakukan secara daring. Oleh

karenanya, para peserta nanti hanya

bisa menikmati seluruh kegiatan

Nantinya, lanjut Sugiyanta, peserta

menyaksikan secara virtual tentang

bisnis kopi di Frinsa Java Coffee

Estate, Balai Besar Penelitian Padi,

sektor privat lainnya. Pengenalan

budaya Indonesia juga akan disajikan

Faperta IPB University Holds International Summer Course

Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Online

The Faculty of Agriculture, IPB Universityagain held the International Summer Courseon Sustainable Tropical Agriculture forundergraduate students. This online summercourse program has many benefits includingstudents getting credit transfers (2 credits),Online Lectures from Lecturers from IPBUniversity and Partner University, Classdiscussions with students from partneruniversities, participating in the 2020ICoSAFS International Seminar on 24-25September 2020 , Virtual field trips andcultural exchanges, participated in theInternational Poster and OpinionCompetition, and received an Internationalcertificate.

Lecture activities are delivered by lecturerswith various experts in agriculture, especiallyland management, cultivation systems, pestsand diseases and landscapes in tropicalenvironments. Field activities are virtuallycarried out by visiting various places relatedto agricultural activities that haveimplemented sustainable agriculturesystems.

This Summer Course was conducted online

from September 21 to October 2 2020. At

least 30 students took part in the Summer

Course from six universities, namely Kyoto

University, Kagoshima University, Universiy

of Malaysia, Terengganu University

Malaysia, National Pingtung University of

Science and Technology, and IPB

University.

The Director of the International Program of

IPB University, Prof. Dr. Iskandar

Zulkarnaen Siregar also welcomed and

appreciated the participants of the Summer

Course which was held online.

“This activity also increases the

collaboration between IPB University and

partner universities on sustainability issues,

especially in the field of sustainable tropical

agriculture. The reason is that the

agricultural sector contributes to the

achievement of the sustainable

development goals (SGDs)," said Prof

Iskandar.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of

Agriculture, IPB University, Dr.

Sugiyanta, explained that the Summer

Course is an annual activity organized

by the Faperta of IPB University.

“In previous years, participants were

invited to visit business places,

research and field laboratories directly,

but this year all activities are carried

out online. Therefore, the participants

will only be able to enjoy all the

activities through streaming,

"explained Sugiyanta when opening

the Summer Course,

Sugiyanta continued, participants

witnessed virtually the coffee business

at the Frinsa Java Coffee Estate, the

Rice Research Center, the Tea and

Sustainable Food Gardening Activities

FAPERTA IPB UNIVERSITY with the Indonesian Agency of Food Security, Ministry of Agriculture

Pemanfaatan ruang di sekitar tempat tinggal kita dapat

meningkatkan ketersediaan, aksesibilitas, dan

pemanfaatan pangan untuk rumah tangga sesuai

dengan kebutuhan pangan yang beragam, bergizi

seimbang bagi rumah tangga, dan aman serta

meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga melalui

penyediaan pangan yang berorientasi pasar. Program

Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L) merupakan salah

satu program yang diselenggarakan oleh Badan

Ketahanan Pangan (BKP) melalui Pusat

Penganekaragaman Konsumsi dan Keamanan Pangan

sebagai kelanjutan program Kawasan Rumah Pangan

Lestari (KRPL).

Dalam Pendampingan Kelompok Tani Pekarangan

Pangan Lestari (P2L) didampingin 5 dosen yang

kompeten dibidangnya dan diikuti oleh 26 mahasiwa

Faperta). Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan September

– Desember 2020.

Program magang ini dibuka bagi mahasiswa yang

berdomisili di Provinsi Jawa barat. Tujuan dari kegiatan

adalah meningkatkan peran mahasiswa dalam

pemberdayaan kelompok pekarangan pangan lestari

dan meningkatkan pengetahuan kelompok serta

meningkatkan produktivitas kelompok pekarangan

pangan lestari.

Lebih lanjut, egiatan dilaksanakan dalam rangkamendukung program pemerintah untuk penanganandaerah prioritas intervensi stunting dan/ ataupenanganan prioritas daerah rentan rawan panganatau pemantapan daerah tahan pangan. Program inidimulai dari pembuatan kebun bibit yang didalamnyaterdapat rumah bibit, pembuatan demplot danpengolahan pasca panen hingga pemasaran. Kegiatanyang dilaksanakan oleh kelompok masyarakat yangsecara bersama-sama mengusahakan lahanpekarangannya sebagai sumber pangan berkelanjutanini, membutuhkan bimbingan baik dari dinas terkaithingga anggota masyarakat sekitar yang memilikipengetahuan lebih dalam kegiatan budidaya.

Mahasiswa merupakan salah anggota masyarakat yangdapat membagi dan mempraktekan ilmunya dalampendampingan kelompok P2L ini. Sejalan dengankegiatan merdeka belajar yang telah dicanangkan olehpemerintah, keikutsertaan mahasiswa FakultasPertanian, IPB University Bogor dalam kegiatanpembimbingan lapang P2L diharapkan dapat menjadikesempatan emas untuk terjun langsung bersamamasyarakat meningkatkan efektifitas dan produktifitasoutput dari program P2L

Utilization of the space around where we live canincrease the availability, accessibility, and use offood for households in accordance with diverse,nutritionally balanced and safe food needs forhouseholds and increase household incomethrough market-oriented food supply. TheSustainable Food Garden Program (P2L) is one ofthe programs organized by the Food SecurityAgency (BKP) through the Center forConsumption Diversification and Food Safety asa continuation of the Sustainable Food HouseArea (KRPL) program.

In the Pekarangan Pangan Lestari Farmer GroupAssistance (P2L) 5 competent lecturers areassisted and 26 Faperta students are involved.The activity will be held in September –December 2020.

This internship program is open to students wholive in West Java Province. The purpose of theactivity is to increase the role of students inempowering the sustainable food yard group andincrease the group's knowledge and increase theproductivity of the sustainable food yard group.

Furthermore, activities are carried out in order tosupport government programs for handling stuntingintervention priority areas and/or handling priorityareas for food insecurity or strengthening food securityareas. This program starts from establishing a nurseryin which there is a nursery, making demonstration plotsand post-harvest processing to marketing. This activity,which is carried out by community groups who jointlycultivate their yards as a sustainable food source,requires guidance from both the relevant agencies andmembers of the surrounding community who havemore knowledge in cultivation activities.

Students are members of the community who canshare and practice their knowledge in this P2L groupmentoring. In line with the independent learningactivities that have been proclaimed by thegovernment, the participation of students from theFaculty of Agriculture, IPB University Bogor in P2L fieldguidance activities is expected to be a goldenopportunity to engage directly with the community toincrease the effectiveness and productivity of theoutput of the P2L program.

BEM Faperta : Gerakan Mengajar di Desa Sukaluyu

Faperta Mengajar kegiatan edukasi mahasiswa Faperta yang dilaksanakan oleh BEM Faperta untuk anak-anak desa binaan Faperta sesuai dengankurikulum dan metode pembelajaran yang dibuat. Desa binaan tersebut berlokasi di Desa Sukaluyu bertepat di RW 10 dan RW 12. Kegiatan inidilaksanakan setiap 2 minggu sekali (hari Minggu) oleh perwakilan BEM Faperta dan beberapa perwakilan mahasiswa Faperta lainnya dimulai pukul 10.00-11.45 wib. Faperta mengajar telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 dan 16 Februari 2020.

Faperta Teaching is an educational activity for Faperta students carried out by BEM Faperta for village children assisted by Faperta in accordance with thecurriculum and learning methods created. The assisted villages are located in Sukaluyu Village, RW 10 and RW 12. This activity is held every 2 weeks(Sunday) by representatives of BEM Faperta and several other Faperta student representatives starting at 10:00-11:45 wib. Faperta teaching has beenheld on February 2 and 16, 2020.

SENTANI merupakan singkatan dari SeminarNasional Pertanian yang merupakan sebuahprogram kerja dari Departemen PSDM BEMFakultas Pertanian IPB yang kemudianberkolaborasi dengan BRM Fakultas PertanianUniversitas Brawijaya. Kegiatan ini berrskalanasional yang dapat diikuti oleh segala kalangan.Kegiatan ini mengusung tema Visi pertanianInonesia 2045: Menjadikan IndonesiasebagaiLumbung Pangan Dunia. Tujuandiadakannya kegiatan ini adalah untukmemberikan wawasan kepada mahasiswakhususnya dan masyarakat pada umumnyamengenai visi pertanian Indonesia sebagailumbung pangan dunia.

SENTANI sebagai kegiatan yang baru pertamakali dilaksanakan pada tahun 2020 sebagai buahpemikiran untuk menghadirkan kegiatan yangpositif ditengah keadaan pandemic sepertisekarang. SENTANI is an abbreviation of the NationalSeminar on Agriculture which is a work programfrom the Department of Human ResourcesDevelopment, BEM, Faculty of Agriculture, IPBwhich then collaborates with BRM, Faculty ofAgriculture, Universitas Brawijaya. This activity ison a national scale which can be followed by allwalks of life. This activity carries the themeIndonesia's 2045 agricultural vision: MakingIndonesia the World's Food Barn. The purpose ofthis activity is to provide insight to students inparticular and the public in general regarding thevision of Indonesian agriculture as the world'sfood barn.

SENTANI as an activity that was carried out forthe first time in 2020 as a fruit of thought topresent positive activities in the midst of apandemic like now. This activity was held onSaturday, October 17, 2020 at 09.00 – 12.50 WIBthrough the Zoom Meeting media and wasattended by around 280 participants from variousinstitutions.
