DPS dispatch equipment is scheduled for replacement
DPS custody area is in need of improvements
Accommodating the new dispatch equipment requires relocation of DPS office areas
Intrusion of relocated DPS office areas into the Town Hall requires those office areas to be relocated
Previous expansions of the Complex did not take into account an overall master plan
Public accessibility to various office areas of the Complex is limited
Improve the energy and lighting efficiency of the Complex
1923 Cornerstone laid on Thanksgiving Day
1930 Library wing added on the ground floor with the Council Chamber and an art gallery added on the 2nd floor
1937 Constructed drainage improvements to the creek channel beneath the building
1948 Converted the basement below the first floor terrace for storage of Town records and remodeled the second floor for additional offices
1953 Installed new underground electrical to the building and new A/C throughout the building while also enclosing the terrace for offices
1959 Remodeled the Municipal Court and Council Chambers
1973 Remodeled and connected the building to the DPS buildingalong with the expansion of the DPS dispatch area and constructed a covered colonnade along the front of the building
1985 Remodeled and enclosed the covered colonnade along the front of the building
1995 Remodeled and replaced the HVAC while adding 400 square feet to the library in addition to a new employee break room
2002 Remodeled the building for ADA improvements
2008 Remodeled the Harvey R. “BUM” Bright Public Library
1927 Demolished the Fire Station for construction of a two storyPolice and Fire station
1953 Renovated and expanded the Police and Fire Station overHackberry Creek
1973 Renovated the dispatch and administrative offices, whilecreating a new lobby area, along with connection to the TownHall
1985 Remodeled the dispatch, booking, dormitory and jail areas
2003 Demolished the existing apparatus bay area and thedormitory for construction of a new building with the existingdispatch area and jail facility remaining
Upgrade DPS dispatch equipment and capabilities
Provide modifications for the DPS custody area
Increase evidence storage area for DPS operations
Minimize the flooding experienced previously by the Complex
Maintain the current foot-print of the Complex
Reconstruct the basement for needed ceiling clearance
Identify opportunities to improve visitor parking demand
Implement a recently prepared Master Plan study addressing similar municipal functions and office needs for continued service delivery
Evaluate the repair and/or replacement of exterior stone work
Evaluate exposing the interior of the Town Hall tower from the second floor stairway
Safeguard larger trees and rework overhead lighting
Redesign the front entry of Town Hall to incorporate the 1923 building elements while providing for ADA accessibility
Create plaza area incorporating Spanish Colonial Revival design for a new water fountain and increase of soft landscaping
Have a consistent exterior paint color of the Complex
Manage hours of construction and related parking

The Harvey R. “Bum” Bright Public Library services will continue tooperate at Town Hall with no expected adjustment to operatinghours
Fire and police personnel/equipment will continue to operate fromthe DPS building
DPS dispatch operations will be temporarily located into theapparatus area of the Complex
DPS will contract with another municipality for temporary custodial services
Segments of the DPS and Town Hall operations will be located to temporary offices
Town Council meetings and Municipal Court will be located to temporary offices
