• Define “renaissance”• Explain the characteristics of Renaissance art• Apply knowledge of the characteristics by
identifying their use in an example from the period
• Recognize important artists/work of the period

Some people think the Mona Lisa was DaVinci’s self portrait as a woman; this idea, while interesting is considered not
likely by experts
