REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES Luther High School Keeping Christ in High School Education Kingdom Workers Bible Study As we see evil and sin and wrongdoing continue to grow in our world, we may be tempted to think that God no longer cares about us or this world which He created. In spite of how things may seem to us, God has not and will not aban- don His world or His people. The prophet Jeremiah lived at a time when it seemed as though the world had fallen apart and God no longer cared about His people. The nation of Israel had been defeated. The city of Jerusalem was destroyed. The temple of God was in ruins. Jeremiah knew that God still cared. Jeremiah wrote, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lam. 3:22-23). The theme for this year’s Kingdom Workers Bible classes is “Jesus works in our world”. We have a rst rate schedule of classes to demonstrate that this is true in spite of how it may seem to our human eyesight and human wisdom. Please join us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God. Classes are held in the Commons at Luther High School from 7:15-8:30 p.m. with a time for extended discussion and fellow- ship to follow. Shoppers around the country say they are planning to spend an av-erage of $801 for gifts this holiday season, down from $854 last year according to the twenty-ninth annual survey on holiday spend-ing from the American Research Group, Inc.

While $801 is a substantial amount of money for Christmas gift spending, it pales in com-parison to God’s Christmas Gift sending. Planned from eternity Romans 8:32 expresses the enor-mity of God’s gracious Christmas gift in these words; “He who did

not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

May these be among the “all things” with which God contin-ues to bless us: “love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

God’s blessings as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Christ the Lord.

Mr. Paul Wichmann, Principal

Luther High School hosted the Chileda Classic on Monday, Oct. 6th, 2013 at Cedar Creek Country Club. The 15 teams attending had beautiful weather for competing. Approximately $2000 dollars was raised for Chileda. These funds will be used to buy sturdy out-door playground equipment for the children they care for. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to make the meet a success. A special thanks to Ralph Mann and Mark Dahl who donated their time as WIAA offi cials.
