Kyogle Public School Newsletter Term 4 ends : Wednesday, 18 December, 2019 Term 1 begins : Wednesday, 29 January, 2020 Next P&C Meeting Wednesday, 20 November, 2019 5.30pm Staffroom DATE: Monday, 11 November 2019 TERM 4 WEEK 5 Relieving Principal: Leanne McLaughlin Principal’s Message Hi Everyone, Our School Captains ran a great Remembrance Day Ceremony today. Thanks to all the staff and children who made poppies to lay at the school Cenotaph to acknowledge and remember those who fought for us. There is a lot of uncertainty and loss around at the moment due to the climatic conditions and the fires. We are wishing everybody to please be safe. At school, children have been allocated inside play areas during this smoky time and children who have asthma or breathing issues have been asked to make sure they go there. As there are many of us here feeling kind of useless, we have decided to have a mufti day on Thursday this week. We would like children to dress ready to do a rain dance. Anyone who is interested can come down to the bottom oval and see if we can help the Rural Fire Service by conjuring up some rain. If children bring a gold coin donation we will donate this to the Rural Fire Service to thank them for all their efforts. Kindergarten Orientation is on again this Thursday. This will be week four and we are getting close to forming classes for 2020. Keep up the great work everyone. This week the Education Expo with the Freestyle Dance Competition was held today. A reminder that next week’s assembly will showcase some of our winners and awards will be presented. This week Peer Support was postponed as there are many groups that work outside and we felt that the smoke was too thick to expose the children to. As a directive from the Department of Education District Office the Intensive Swimming Program has been cancelled for the rest of this week. We will keep you advised about how and when the remainder of the program will continue. Swimming for sport is also cancelled for this week. Have the best week you can, Leanne McLaughlin Acting Principal. This Thursday, 14 November we are having a whole school Rain dance. This will be a free-dance for fun. Please bring a gold coin donation as we will be donating all funds raised to our amazing Emergency Services. All students can dress in anything blue (as a representation of the dearly missed rain).
