5.1 REMOVED FUNCTIONALITY
Removed JDBC-ODBC Bridge.
With Java version 8, the JDBC-ODBC Bridge distributed with OIP
package, was removed by Oracle and is not available anymore. Oracle
recommends using JDBC-ODBC drivers provided by the vendor of your
database instead. The only option to use this old JDBC-ODBC Bridge
in OIP is to install an older version of OIP ODBC Driver and keep
Java 7 installed on the same PC. This older version of OIP ODBC
Driver can be downloaded via OIP WebAdmin (version 9.0.2.2). More
details to the procedure can be found in the knowledgebase article

7 IMPORTANT HINTS / RESTRICTIONS
7.1 OIP VIRTUAL APPLIANCE
The OVA/VHD-Version 1.4.0 / 8.7.0.4 contains:

All new systems must be installed with OVA 1.4.0 / 8.7.0.4
packages
Upgrading any existing systems (also systems deployed with OVA
package 1.4.0 / 8.7.0.1) must be reinstalled with the OVA 1.4.0 /
8.7.0.4
o Note: Restore an OIP backup from older OIP Version into OIP
8.7.0.4 does not work. It is necessary to upgrade first OIP using
the update package (OipSetupLinux_8.7.0.4.zip) and then do a
reinstall as described below:
o Upgrade procedure of OIP as Virtual Appliance to OVA 1.4.0 /
8.7.0.4
Existing Virtual Appliance needs to be updated using the update
package (OipSetupLinux_8.7.0.4.zip) available on download
server.
Use “Maintenance / System update” menu point in OIP WebAdmin to
select the update package and perform the update
Backup OIP and OIP applications data after upgrading to OIP
8.7.0.4
Deploy the new OVA 1.4.0 / 8.7.0.4 package
Restore OIP and OIP applications data afterwards again.
7.1.2 VMWARE REQUIREMENTS:
ESXi VMware vSphere 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5
minimum 1 core (minimum 2 GHz) up to 4 cores (up to 3 GHz)
2 GB Memory minimum up to 4 GB
100 GB HDD space
Please refer to the VMware compatibility list to find supported
server systems.
7.1.3 HYPER-V REQUIREMENTS:
Supported on Windows Server 2012R2 o Windows 10 PRO 64 and Windows
Server 2016 are under test

7.1.4 MIGRATION OF AN EXISTING OIP TO OIP VIRTUAL APPLIANCE:
Purchase of a new connection licence is mandatory! Transfer of
Master EID is possible by CSU (No automated OIP migration process
but re-use of existing OIP feature licences possible by request to
CSU)
7.1.5 INSTALLATION AND SETTING UP THE IP-ADDRESSING
Load the OVA package with the vSphere onto the virtual machine of
the server.
Open the Console
o A menu to enter the Application record ID is shown. Press next to
login into the Mitel Standard Linux.
Use the default username=”admin” and the default
password=”password” to login.
o A menu list is shown and one has to configure the IP settings and
the trusted network settings, not more.
Select point 2. Configure this sever and do the settings step by
step
Set the “primary domain name” xxx.local (e.g.
whateveryouneed.local)
Set a system name (what you need to recognize the system)
Set the “Local networking parameter” -> the desired IP-Address
of the OIP Virtual Appliance and the corresponding subnet
mask
Set enable “IPv6 protocol” to “no”
Set the gateway IP address
Set the DNS server address (this is mandatory here, ignore what is
written on the screen)
Set “Resolve primary domain” to “corporate”
o At this point the operating system asks to reboot to take over
the settings, press on “yes”
o After the reboot you will be at the same place as the first dot
above (Application record ID”
o Press next and login again with the default credentials if you
need to setup trusted networks.
Select point 8. “Manage trusted networks”
Select “Add IPv4 trusted networks and add the network addresses
from where the system can additionally accessed (e.g. 123.213.0.0
or 123.213.234.0…) and the corresponding subnet mask.
The configuration of your virtual operating system is now
completed, you can exit the setup menu.
In case your time zone is different than Central European Time, you
need to change the time zone of the virtual machine. You can do
this using web-based configuration tool accessible via
http://<server_address>:8080, where <server_address> is
the address of the Virtual Appliance specified in previous steps.
After opening the web-based configuration navigate to
“Configuration / Date and Time” and adjust the time zone.
The next step is to configure the MiVoice Office 400 Virtual
Appliance.

7.1.6 USERNAME, PASSWORD
The default OIP WebAdmin username is: “oipadmin”, the default
password is “oipadmin”
The default root account is username = root, the default password
is “password”. Please notice the password will be automatically
updated to match the OIP WebAdmin password.
The default admin account is username = admin, the default password
is “password”. Please notice the password will be automatically
updated to match the OIP WebAdmin password.
7.1.7 CALL CENTER SUPERVISION (CCS) IS NOT WORKING WITH VIRTUAL
APPLIANCE
Currently, it is mandatory that CCS is running on the same server
as OIP.
Since CCS is not a Linux application, this is not possible! Hence,
CCS 1.2 and CCS 2.0 are not compatible with OIP as Virtual
Appliance.
7.2 OIP SERVER ADDRESS RESOLUTION
For correct function of client applications (OfficeSuite,
MiVoice1560 PC Operator) it is important that OIP domain name
server address can be properly resolved in network. If the domain
name address cannot be resolved, please configure OIP server to use
IP address instead using properties of Service Manager
service.

7.3 OIP UPDATE
The new version of OIP Update Service (2.0.1) delivered with this
OIP package works on Windows 7 and newer Windows systems without
any need for ‘Interactive Service Detection’ system service
running. There are no requirements anymore for configuration
changes in system to make Update Service working.
Please note that the new version of Update Service doesn’t support
automatic updates of OIP TAPI Service Provider (OIP TSP). OIP TSP
can be updated manually using the link on Installations page of OIP
WebAdmin.
7.4 MIVOICE 1560 PC OPERATOR
Faulty update to version 2.0.10.
If MiVoice 1560 is updated from any previous version to MiVoice
1560 version 2.0.10 (delivered with OIP 8.6.0.13), some files are
not properly installed. This can only be solved by uninstall
MiVoice 1560 version 2.0.10 and reinstall it again. (This happens
only in case of upgrade to version 2.0.10, not in case of a new
installation)
This issue does not occur anymore with upgrade of any previous
version to MiVoice 1560 version 2.0.11 (included in OIP
8.6.0.14).
MiVoice 1560 PC Operator does not install headset drivers during
the installation. The headset drivers have to be installed
manually. They are available in the installation directory “MiVoice
1560/MediaServer/Drivers”.
MiVoice 1560 PC Operator does not deactivate screen savers on
incoming calls and using a screen saver together with MiVoice 1560
PC Operator may cause problems answering incoming calls while the
screen saver is active. Using screen savers together with MiVoice
1560 PC Operator therefore must be avoided.

7.6 EXTENDED CTI SUPPORT WITH MIVOICE 1560 OPERATOR
CTI support for MiVoice 5300 Digital/5300 IP Phones and Mitel
600/602/650 DECT Phones (same functions as OfficeSuite).
With R4.1 the Mitel 6800 SIP Phones used with MiVoice 1560 Operator
are supported
Apply following settings for a working solution:
Mandatory setting for the 6800 SIP Phone in WebAdmin
o The number of lines must be set to “1”
Be aware that some behaviour is different to the 5300 phone
series.
o In general, as with every SIP Phone, it is necessary to dial the
number first and do the action “call” or “inquiry” after
that.
o For a transfer without announcement: First answer the call in the
queue, then press the key “Transfer” then enter the target number
and press Enter OR simply drag the call from the queue to a Team
Key.
o For a transfer with announcement: First answer the call in the
queue, then press the Team Key and wait till the called user
answers, then press Fox Key “Connect”; Or enter the target number
then press “Inquiry” and wait till the called user answers then
press the Fox Key “Connect”.
Not supported functions o Direct mode (not possible to answer calls
out of the operator queue by hook off
the SIP phone handset) o Transfer trunk line access (dial tone) to
a calling phone (SIP or 5300)
