What is entrepreneurial
education?
Entrepreneurship education encourages an
entrepreneurial attitude, self-initiative and an
active manner.
By strengthening the entrepreneurial capacities
of children and young people, we help them to
find their own strengths and their place in work
life.
Entrepreneurship education:
• Improves sense of self-worth
• Improves courage, problem solving and teamwork
• Improves work skills and knowledge
• Improves everyday skills
• Encourages to plan actions and reach set goals
• Encourages to take on new challenges
• Encourages to aim for the future
• Encourages to become an entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurship is the ability to turn
ideas into practises.
Entrepreneurship is a work life
skill
In the changing world we live in, young people
require entrepreneurial skills.
• Creativity, innovativeness, accountability and
risk management, coupled with goal-oriented
activities, give young people a strong
competence in work life and entrepreneurial
zeal.
YES is a network of experts whosupport and train teachers in
entrepreneurship education and serves as a developer of regionalentrepreneurship education and
school-business cooperation.
Our goal is that every young person in Finland receives entrepreneurshipeducation regardless of educational
level and municipality, and thatevery teacher has the capability to
implement entrepreneurshipeducation in their own work.

YES regional agent:
• Provides YES services for teaching staff and
businesses.
• Works as regional entrepreneurship education
coordinator, network creator and developer.
• Operates through networks with other regional
agents (YES Team) to develop and support
entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education.
• Forms the national YES Network with other YES
regional agents.
YES regional offices:
• Are set up with the local needs in mind.
• Are supported by schools, joint municipal
authorities, regional development
organizations, business associations,
municipalities, entrepreneur associations.
• Are funded by supporting partners and through
project grants.

YES develops entrepreneurship education, in cooperationwith other actors, both regionally and nationally.
Through joint entrepreneurship education, we also createregional vitality and new entrepreneurship.
To strengthen the know-how of entrepreneurship education, the strategy and yearly plan of entrepreneurship education in Finland Proper has been developed. It defines
the regional vision and the developmental goals regarding it. To support the strategy, a compact
grade level based plan that concretizes the goals and actions of entrepreneurship
education.
