Importing from RSS FeedsRefWorkshasintegratedanRSSFeedReadersoyoucaneasilyaddyourfavoriteRSSFeedsfrompublishersandwebsites,viewtheinformationandimportdataintoyourRefWorksdatabase.
1.Clickonthe New Reference button.2.Selectapotentialbibliographicoutputstyle(e.g.,APA, Chicago,MLA)underView fields usedbytoenablethe AccuCitefeature.(C)3.Designatethetypeofreferenceyouareentering(e.g.journal, bookordissertation)underRef Type.Thefieldnamesthatare associatedwiththespecificoutputstyleandreferencetype youchosewillappear,indicatingrecommendedinformation neededtoproduceanaccuratebibliography.These fields are not required to save the actual reference in RefWorks. Toview additionalfields,clickon Additional Fields atthebottom leftofthewindow.4.Enterinformationintheboxesprovidedandclickthe appropriate Save buttonwhenfinished.
Attaching Files to a Reference
Youcanattachfileswhenaddinganewreferencemanuallyoreditinganexistingreference.Attachmentscanbeanytypeofcomputerfile(PDF,TIF,JPG,GIFetc.)thatyouwanttoassociatewiththebibliographicinformationyoustoreinyourRefWorksdatabase.Forfurtherinstructionsonattachingfilestoyourreferences,pleaserefertothe Help file.
Helpful Hint: TheLast Importedfoldercontainsonlyreferencesfromyourmostrecentdataimport.Referencesfromimportspriortoyourlastimportnotassignedtospecificfoldersremainavailableinyourprimarydatabasebutunfiled;unfiledreferencesarecalledReferences Not in a FolderandmaybeseenbyclickingtheOrganize and Share Folderstab.
Putting References into Folders
1.Markdesiredreferencesfromthesearchresultspage,thenclick thebuttontitled Selected. Theselectedreferencesfeatureworks onapage-by-pagebasis;thismeansthatyoumustaddthe manuallyselectedreferencestothedesiredfolderbeforemoving tothenextpage.Alternatively,youcanmark All orallona Page.2.Clickonthe Add To: foldericon()andselecttheappropriate folderfromthedrop-downmenu. (H)3.Referenceswillautomaticallybeaddedtotheindicatedfolder.
